First? And wasn’t I right about Bitcoin? All those dudebros who didn’t really want to participate in the economy will never see any of their money again-they still believe-they say it’s back up to $500 bux-but wait until the next crash.

My oldest nephew was baptized Catholic to make my mother happy. He never stepped foot inside a church again. His sister was never baptized. At least in the West, millennials don’t see the point of staying in a church which preaches against your personal values.

OMG, did anyone watch Frontline last night? The show was about “The Secrets of the Vatican” and it completely blew my mind. I fear for Pope Francis’ life.

        • February 26, 2014 at 7:45 pm

Well, the conspiracy theorists say that John Paul I was assassinated a month into his reign because he was going to make all sorts of changes.

          • February 26, 2014 at 8:05 pm

Yes, exactly. Pope Francis is really trying to revolutionize every aspect of the Curia AND the Vatican Bank. The show lays out the corruption in full detail in several areas, the VatiLeaks and then talks about Francis and some of the things he’s said and done. They also said that if the mob can take him out, they will.

            BLOWN AWAY.

    Hi Everyone! A little UPDATE.

Had my first chemotherapy session today. It lasted an hour and I haven’t begun to feel the effects yet. I had small bags of ice placed on my hands and feet. This is to restrict blood flow to my nail beds because the chemo could destroy them and cause your nails to fall completely off. Ugh. I also got a warm blanket, some potato chips, a ham sandwich (no mayo and no cheese? WTF? 🙂 ) , a cup of grape juice and watched House Hunters while the chemo was fed through an IV.

I’ve read some scary testimonials about the chemo I’m taking but they all say it works. Hopefully I can handle the side effects long enough so that it can do it’s job.

The GOOD news of the day is that I did not wake up this morning in pain. I felt almost like my old self before I started getting breast cancer symptoms (of course, didn’t know it was cancer at the time). On Monday, I went to the palliative care clinic at the cancer center and was prescribed an additional pain killer. I think it’s really working because I usually wake up limping from achy, stiff knee joints and painful hands. Sometimes so painful I can’t even open a bag of chips. Hell, I couldn’t even open my prescription bottles. The pain would become less throughout the day but it was always there. This morning and for all of today, I’ve been pain free. It’s like a dream. Of course, with the chemo it won’t last long but I’m going to enjoy it while it lasts.

I’ll be monitoring myself carefully for the next few days. I’ve read that the side effects usually take effect the next 24 hours and for days after that. Let’s hope for as little as possible.

With the threat of losing the Super Bowl for the 2nd time (1rst in 90’s when AZ would not recognize MLK Day….game was moved to CA) I’m sure Gov. Brewer is going to announce a veto in 5 minutes

“When I moved into the supposedly cursed restaurant space on Broadway in Tucson, Arizona, 15 years ago, I found a box of letters — the kind you put on a marquee sign out front. By the end of the day, I had a message on the sign. We’ve been changing it every day since. I am often told people plan their routes to see what we have to say each day — even if just for a chuckle………

Sometimes we put up song lyrics, or a snarky comment about someone in the news, such as Anthony Weiner. One day we put up “Free Pussy Riot.” Some people get their knickers in a twist about our messages, but we do it for ourselves as much as anything.
Then I learned that the state Senate once again passed an appalling bill that attempted to save me from my fellow Arizonans. The legislation would give businesses the right to refuse to serve gay people on religious grounds. I thought, “Oh no, not again.” If anything seemed ripe for parody, this was it……..”

The MSM is laser-focused on preventing a Dem sweep of both Houses of Congress this year, but the grassroots is keeping a running tabulation of how President Obama is moving this country #FORWARD.

Another senseless gun death—-a 13 yr. old and a 15 yr. old were playing around with a loaded gun—-13 yr. old ends up dead, 15 yr. old charged. And IMHO, whatever adult was responsible for the gun availability in that home should also be charged. This is an insane reality in this country currently—–all these young people dying senselessly—–one every 70 minutes—-around the clock.

I am glad that HER sense of $$$$ worship won over.

The other states currently awaiting passage of the same bill…….KS for one, they better watch out.

Scott of FL said if sent to him, he would veto it. Now, he has seen The Light, Hmm?

I don’t watch MSNBC during the day (including, sadly, the great Joy Reid), but whoever is produced Ronan Farrow’s show must be a clueless, privileged elite, like most other MSNBC hosts.

Since Ronan is so young, he really needs a boots-on-the-ground veteran producer who knows how off-putting the limousine liberal label is.

Also disturbing to me is how much he favors Frank Sinatra, LOL.

I say give him a chance—-his show is not terrible, which is a weak endorsement I know, and even has some good moments. It’s tough duty hosting a show like that for the first time, lots to learn to keep it rolling, much easier to just appear as a guest and insert some wise comments. I see growing pains with both his show and Joy Reid’s, but I expect both to be worthwhile. Both have high intellect, hearts are in the right places, both seem to have a sense of humor, which I appreciate—the wrinkles will be ironed out. And no need to pit one against the other. I don’t think it’s a contest.

Interesting that it was publicized as anti-gay – but seemed to be anti many other folks as well. It is past time that people started openly discussing racist issues. The media refuses to admit that so many laws are racist – so they look for any other way to describe them.

And why Brewer rejected it – $$$$$ – she didn’t have to take a week to do it – wants everyone to applaud. That she could have a GOP legislature that passed this bill – such a reflection of the GOP

Scott decided he didn’t like the Arizona bill when he realized his state was Plan 2 for next year’s super bowl

They have NO morals outside of $$$$. Social issues stop them having to think about the reality of government – people, schools, roads, natural disasters, taxes, employment etc etc

Has any GOP governor done anything to benefit the 99% of their state’s people over the past 5 years? I guess those who expanded medicaid – the few – but even that relates to $$$ rather than people for the GOP.

AH! I have to weigh in on this thing…Brewer did what the $$$$$ told her to do. Plain and simple. If she could have gotten away with this POS offensive bill without pissing off the power brokers, she would have done it in a heartbeat. Money won, not morals or because it was the right thing to do. If she wanted to do the right thing, the moment she heard the fucking lunatics in the legislature passed this thing, she would have said right then and there that it was stopping at her desk and she wasn’t going to sign it because AZ doesn’t discriminate….THAT would have been what she should have done, if she was a leader…..instead, we got the dog and pony show….like she really needed to hear all sides of the issue??? There IS only one side….!!!! Honest to god….I can barely contain myself……and I truly would love it if every LGBT person moved to this state…ASAP…make their teeny tiny heads explode…..I’d love that so much….just walking around with the biggest smile on my face…..I have to say, they have overstepped the boundaries for most people here….and I hope that as people learn more, they start to connect the dots… just too many hate filled bills…..fear and division…..most people don’t want that, even here. There are good people here, you just hear about the lunatics all the time…..I hope this all comes back to bite them in the ass…BIG TIME! It might be done, but I hope this isn’t forgotten.

Agreed df – and she did it in a way to say “look at me”, “look at everything I have done for Arizona” , “I am wonderful”

If she cared about the legislation – as you say – should have said upfront she would not sign it – worst case – she should have said it immediately it was passed – but NO – had to use it to get the “good” publicity.

By the way, DF, I also noticed the dig in her statement falsely accusing President Obama of interfering with religious freedom.
