Love her expression throughout the interview. It’s calm but one can tell that deep inside, she’s thinking, “wow, David Gregory is a fool.”

The word that comes to my mind for Susan Rice is poised. In addition to 3 adjectives that title this post. David Gregory as always looks and acts like the bought and paid for dope that he is.

That idiot had the nerve to ask if he she had any regrets about Benghazi. That would mean she did something wrong, and it has been proven that he statement was not out of line.

    David Gregory is GOP.

Nobody would blame Amb Rice if she went to the nearest boxing gym, pasted a photo of D.Gregory on it and commenced to punch the hell out of it!

She made me soooo proud of her for staying above his muddy waters. I believe President Obama is proud of her too! I think SoS Kerry put out a tweet complimenting her on this appearance.

I swear I saw Gregory’s hair smolder and catch on fire – hahahahaha!

just watched the clip, and while wallace asks a second time, when scotty boy gets all pissy, wallace nicely moves on and multiple times says, “and we’ll point again governor that your name isn’t mentioned in any of this…” disgusting difference in how they would treat a democrat or especially an obama administration person, or the president himself (bill o’lielly-super bowl), if they were in a similar spot. ‘the news” is now 100% taken over to promote republican ideology. 100%.

The beauty of all of Ambassador Rice’s interviews is that she is so sure of her facts and so unshakable in her professionalism that she NEVER resorts to petty retorts. She could have called McCain out for his snarky statement about the president. She could have reacted in an annoyed and caustic manner to the idiot, Gregory, but she never sinks to that level. She is fiercely loyal to the president, but she has an independent judgment and an encyclopedic knowledge of world events that is absolutely up to the minute. That whole interview was designed to unnerve her and trip her up, but she didn’t falter for one nanosecond. She was so far above the level of her interviewer that it was like watching a wiseman (woman) being questioned by a fool.

“That whole interview was designed to unnerve her and trip her up…” that’s it right there. all “the news” seems to be now is setting up traps for democrats, then trying to get them to step in those pre-determined verbal traps. and it’s the exact opposite for republicans, where “the news” exists to help them cover up their gross incompetence and obvious lies.

that’s what has been one of the most amazing things about the obama administration for me…how so many of them are so knowledgeable in their fields, and so well-spoken, that “the news” gets so frustrated that obama’s people rarely step into those traps. amazing.

Yes, Yes, jackiegrumbacher!!!!. If I did not know better, I would think that you were on one of those personal calls made by two of my precious and loving family members who know Dr. Susan Rice personal. One of the callers said almost exactly what you stated.”She was so far above the level of her interviewer that it was like watching a wiseman (woman) being questioned by a fool.”

Brilliant minds think alike and are keen observers!!!! You hit it sharp and to the point, jackiegrumbacher. Thank you.HZ

The pros and cons of raising the minimum wage

Tamara Draut, Avik Roy, Tsedeye Gebreselassie and Igor Volsky discuss the debate surrounding the minimum wage and if there would be any trade-offs involved with raising it.

Is momentum for raising wages growing?

Is GAP raising the wage for its workers just the beginning of other major retailers stepping up to do the same? The MHP panel talks about if businesses should have a responsibility to raise wages.

Republicans Are Officially Out Of Obamacare Attacks

But you can understand the bind Republicans find themselves in. Despite predictions of mass panic and destruction, they’re having great difficulty finding any actual stories that illustrate how terrible they claim the law is. In some cases, they’ve turned to actors. And often their “horror” stories sound more like success stories.
Then any decent news organization would have to do exactly what Peters is asking broadcasters to do: Check the math.

How is a law that cut your premiums in half “unaffordable?” Further, how is a law that ends discrimination against cancer victims bad for cancer victims? And what will Republicans do for the 10.3 million Americans with pre-existing conditions who don’t have insurance?

Folks, regarding the voting for meta’s blog You can only vote once per REGISTERED USER. However, you set up a different user account per email. If you have a couple different emails, including work (if your employer doesn’t really mind) go ahead. Use spouse’s. Ask your kids for permission to use theirs. Brother, sisters, parents. They will probably get some emails from the site, but I am sure they will be able to opt out.

I am going in to cast my 3rd. I’ll let you know her status when I am done.

I looked at joy’s blog – seriously unimpressed. I also looked at one that the judges liked – “eat the love” – found it very entertaining – the trip to LA on which the “soft boiled egg” recipe was based worth a read.

Meta has, by far, the best recipes – which is what it is all about. 🙂 Wish I could cook – sigh.

Does anyone know if there will be a list of participating governors? I know Cuomo and Christie are skipping this event (losers.)

  26. February 23, 2014 at 6:15 pm

It’s hard to know where to begin when it comes to listing things I love about President Obama, things that no other politician in my lifetime will likely ever come close to achieving.

I so admire his strategic “no drama Obama” introduction and implementation of both foreign and domestic policy.

But it really tickles me no end when he leaves the WHPC gasping for breath (because they’re on last year’s “scandalabra” news cycle — Benghazi!!!).

Here’s something to look forward to tomorrow, a welcome relief to those in the parched Western states, a measure that appears to be universally supported from both right and left:

    From the article:

Obama to Propose Shift in Wildfire Funding
    FEB. 22, 2014

WASHINGTON — President Obama’s annual budget request to Congress will propose a significant change in how the government pays to fight wildfires, administration officials said, a move that they say reflects the ways in which climate change is increasing the risk for and cost of those fires.

    snip /

The proposal will ask Congress to pay the costs of fighting extreme wildfires in the same way it finances the federal response to disasters like hurricanes and tornadoes, the officials said. When unpredictable events like Hurricane Sandy are destructive enough to be declared disasters by the president, the Federal Emergency Management Agency is authorized to exceed its annual budget and draw on a special disaster account. The account is adjusted each year to reflect the 10-year average cost of responding to such events.

Mr. Obama’s budget proposal would create a similar exception for the Interior and Agriculture Departments, which have agencies that are responsible for wildfire response. In recent years, as wildfires have become more frequent and intense in the Western United States, the cost of fighting the fires has soared.

In real dollar terms, adjusted for inflation, the Forest Service and Interior Department spent an average of $1.4 billion in annual wildfire protection from 1991 to 1999, according to a report by Headwaters Economics, a nonprofit research group. But that spending has more than doubled — from 2002 to 2012, the agencies spent an average of $3.5 billion to fight wildfires.

Arapaho415, I so love your comment. That is one of the many wonderful intellectual and commonsense things I love about our president. He has a brain and he uses it so deliciously!. Love our POTUS. So elated that he continues encourages me to work hard for him and with him for moving our nation FORWARD. HZ

The reckless fossil fuel industry hasn’t changed its spots.

While West Virginia and North Carolina are under siege by Koch polluters that claim to be energy companies, BP is trying to wriggle out of the settlement that seemed like peanuts when the horrific Gulf Oil spill was occurring.

I will say that it became kind of a joke in Florida—-everyone filed a claim—-anyone anywhere who was involved in any kind of business anywhere in Florida could say their business was adversely affected by the oil spill——because people were hearing that ridiculous claims were being approved—-so everyone lined up to cash in.
