Sir Pat Stew is freaking awesome and is doing Twitter right.

The Guardian in reporting about Ellen Page coming out, said Sir Patrick Stewart is gay. He’s not. He’s married. His buddy, Sir Ian McKellen is gay. They’ve been having so much fun in New York while performing in two plays. Their Twitter feeds, tweets, and pictures are the BEST!

This is how Sir Pat Stew responded to the Guardian. 😆

GGail, if you think *I* am going to get myself embroiled in a sports face-off, you are waaaayyyy off base, particularly since I never follow any of these sports. I ain’t giving ‘im no message. (In truth he doesn’t follow it either, except to watch a few Olympic finals when the mood hits.) I only went down because he called, and 99½% of the time when he wants to play scrabble or whatever, I say ‘I’m on the blogs; maybe later.’ 😉

One of the most important projects in the fight to support the Affordable Care Act is being accomplished by Charles Gabba, AKA Brainwrap. I urge those who are able to make even a small donation to this cause to support his website ACA Signups . The link for that is here: http://acasignups.net/donate The most effective weapon against RW Koch propaganda is facts and numbers. Charles Gabba has been doing that effectively and is receiving national recognition for it and now quoted by credible news outlets. If you donate, you get a login and can bypass the ads on the site. Help tell the story of Obamacare success!

So now we hear that Matt Taibii is joining Greenwald’s enterprise. Who will be next—Cenk Uyger, Michael Moore, Markos Moulitsas—all so-called self-identified Left.

Here’s my question: How many of these people will be helping us win in 2014?
Because that is the definition of the democratic Left, Progressive, Liberal whatever you call it.

If you are sitting out the 2014 election you are not a friend of ours.

Does the VA senate now have a dem majority? Sounds like the VA house is going to emulate their DC house and do nothing than legislate against women – knowing that the legislation is not going anywhere.

And still women vote for these clowns

It’s a film from the 80’s. I think I saw it a while ago on the Tuner Movie Classics. I didn’t see the play version so it will be interesting to see how the changes were made for Black characters.

Not sure where Fayette Co. is—-must be southern Illinois. Not that it’s real picture perfect in my neck o the woods—-lightning and tstorm right now. We’ve had everything in the last 24 hours—-snow, rain, sleet, ice, fog. Local weather said could get hail. I think that about covers it. Worst winter that I can ever remember. Picked the wrong year to not go to Florida. Really pouring now—-with high winds—-forgot those—-but here they are. Freaky Friday (Thursday).

Christie still pretending he knows what he is doing

Chris Christie Makes Things Worse By Staging A Rigged Town Hall

“On his way in to his first “town hall” since the Bridgegate scandal was tracked right into his inner office, Gov. Chris Christie was met with protesters. Inside, Christie tried to off-load mounting criticism of his conduct and the state’s plan for Sandy recovery by shifting blame to the federal government, implying the feds didn’t send enough money, or got New Jersey snared in its red tape.
Bob Ingle, already conversant with the orchestration of Christie “town Halls” shows, and carefully chosen audiences, informed Costa that no Bridgegate talk from the crowd inside was “due to prescreening”. ”

Who would have guessed – a prescreened audience for Gov Christie

President B. H. Obama, a leader with specific goals!

WASHINGTON, D.C. – As part of President Obama’s Climate Action Plan to reduce carbon pollution, create jobs and move our economy toward clean energy sources, Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell today announced the approval of two solar energy projects located near the Nevada-California border that are expected to supply 550 megawatts of renewable energy, enough to power about 170,000 homes, and support more than 700 jobs through construction and operations.

Today’s approvals bring to 50 the number of utility-scale renewable energy proposals and associated transmission that the Interior Department has approved since 2009, including 27 solar, 11 wind, and 12 geothermal projects. Together, the projects could support more than 20,000 construction and operations jobs and, when built, generate nearly 14,000 megawatts of electricity, or enough to power 4.8 million homes. Thirteen of the projects are already in operation, including the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System, a 377-megawatt solar thermal plant that started commercial operations and delivering power to California’s electric grid last week.

“When President Obama first took office in 2009, there were no solar projects approved on public lands, and no process in place to move forward the hundreds of applications pending from businesses that wanted to harness renewable energy to help power our nation,” said Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell. “With today’s milestone of 50 utility-scale renewable energy projects approved on public lands since our standing start in 2009, and with a number of those already producing energy for the nation’s electric grid, our clean energy future is bright.”

YES WE MUST …. keep the pressure on …

    • February 20, 2014 at 6:25 pm

As I almost always do, I went home for lunch. I tuned into EuroNews, and the breaking news was that the Ukrainian parliament had voted to pull all special forces out of the square, and to not use live ammunition. Things are going pear shaped for Yanukovych. From what I’ve read, he’s accepted the EU proposal to hold early elections.

      • 95 jackiegrumbacher
        February 20, 2014 at 6:53 pm

Well it can’t happen a moment too soon for Yanukovych. He’s responsible for the deaths and the slaughter and he must be removed and jailed. What he has done to the people in the square is unconscionable. He’s a thug and a murderer, which makes him the ideal puppet for Putin.

The GOP seem unable to find a truthful person who has been “harmed” by the ACA. Worth reading the comments here – there is one who says it costs more – but he has a high income – and does not expect any sympathy. Any others appear to be the internet trolls who always have the family who were completely screwed – but no details/no proof.

It seems the US is going well with health care – and every dem in the land should be screaming from the rooftops – not mumbling about the bad start.

I saw this earlier today—kinda feel sorry for the guy. He really wanted that Twix. Put a buck in the vending machine and candy bar dropped half way and then got caught on a hook. Put another buck in—-still no luck. Tried pounding and shaking vending machine. No luck. Then!—-he got creative—-and used his forklift to lift and drop the machine!—voila! 3 candy bars dropped. But!—-lost his job and unemployment. Sad. And firing not necessary.
