Night owl chat – Boleros, rancheras, and mariachis

Although I grew up in New York City, and merengue and salsa were my staple Latin music, when I moved to Los Angeles I was captivated by Mexican boleros, rancheras, and mariachis. Living in L.A. you can’t help but be. In honor of the North American summit in Mexico today, a bit of Mexican music to take you on into the night.

Pedro Infante – Flor sin retoño

Antonio Aguilar – El aventurero

Toña la Negra – Escarcha

Genaro Salinas – Un gran amor

Lola Beltran – Mi ranchito

Go on YouTube, search for “rancheras”, “mariachis”, or “boleros”, and swim in wonderful music. Chat on, night owls!

    Didn’t realize there was a new thread…

I too, as usual, got caught after the new thread was started. I’ll just summarize: Rachel kicked it tonight. She covered Christie, the Ukraine, Gov. McCrory in N.Carolina and his aborted press conference and the subpoenas, and criminal actions being brought against his admin for pollution, and at the end, she dealt with GWB, and his, as she said “trying to cover himself with the glory of the Iraq and Afghanistan vets” from the wars he started and would not end. She called BS on what he is doing. He is truly despicable…..even more than I thought, if that’s possible.
It was a good Rachel show. She does her homework, and so does her staff.,

Thank you LL. This is one of the many wonderful reasons that I so love and appreciate this beautiful place. This brilliant TOD family always is one step ahead of everyone and everything. Great honor to our brilliant President, Barack Obama on his summit.

Continuing to give facts, honor, and respect to the best president in my lifetime. Thanks again, LL. Goodnight everyone.HZ

    Will not stop ….

… until those two begin serving AMERICA rather than their narcissistic selves ….

BTW LL, the music of the ‘mariachis’ is among the very earliest memories I have of any form of music given the circumstances of spending the early years of my life in San Antonio – and because my family loved the music …. Thank you

Looks like Tennessee lost more than they could possibly realize in the long run.

Just got home from being out all day – watched Rachel talking about David Sampson at the Port Authority – this is a pillar of society – a lawyer – what is with the 1% in America – utterly unreal. Where is the Governor of New York while Gov Christie is running the Port Authority?
