So after a few discussions with meta, I’m leaning towards self-publishing my novel. I’ll have to think a bit more. Designing the cover, designing the book, etc etc. But the publishing industry is dead, it just doesn’t realize it.

    • February 18, 2014 at 11:30 pm

If you have a chance, try to talk with published authors and get their perspective. It’s a challenge to self-publish because it’s all up to you to do the work but it’s also a lot of freedom. Traditional publishing is going through tremendous change.

I wish you the best and don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions. I have lots of resources for each phase of the process. But the most important thing for now is to focus on your writing process and give it your all!

LL – Such depressing news all over the place, if we let it sink into our subconscious, that I’m beginning to think we all need to just go find a flash mob every day and chill for a half hour or something with those people. So, thanks!

Now, to plow through everlasting snow to join some other singers at some, hopefully, warmer location. I.Got.This. Or maybe tomorrow, I’ll just listen to those you posted here! So, thanks, again!

During California’s worst drought on record, some farmers are using precious water to grow hay that is then shipped to China.

While historic winter storms have battered much of the US, California is suffering its worst drought on record. So why is America’s most valuable farming state using billions of gallons of water to grow hay – specifically alfalfa – which is then shipped to China?

The reservoirs of California are just a fraction of capacity amid the worst drought in the state’s history.

Thanks Lib_l, I love flash mobs, the music as well as the public reaction, particularly that of young children. It’s probably the only time I listen to the entire musical selections in posts. Good job tonight!

WHY would the billionaire Koch pull out of Alaska so soon – something is fishy (but what?)

From the link “Could it be related to the Kochs announcing recently that they’ll be shutting down their Alaska Refinery?”

If no financial stake in Alaska – they’ll spend their money elsewhere

My poor tired eyes, Lib-L! You are mean to me! I’ve been watching some of the other flash mobs indicated at the end of the last video. I don’t think my eyes will recover tonight, but on the other hand I feel quite relaxed. So, thanks! 😀

Here ya go PF, this should be required viewing. The obsession with Hillary Clinton and 2016 is just astonishing when so much hinges on the results of the 2014 midterms. It is hard to believe this is happening after the disaster of the 2010 midterms.

      THE LAST WORD 02/18/14

      2014 already a fundraising battle
Republicans, with the help of the Koch brothers-backed Americans for Prosperity, are getting a big cash advantage over Democrats in the 2014 midterm races.

The juror interview – final vote to convict Dunn was 9-3. 25% thought it was self defense – and of course race was an issue – only a white person could possibly say “race was not a factor”

“Valerie decided to come forward after reading and hearing the outrage the verdict generated. She wants the world to know that the jurors valued the life of Davis. Race was never mentioned in deliberations and was not a factor in the decision, she said”
