a few weeks ago, when there was mass hysteria about KXL pipeline, I wrote here to remind the loud voices that Sec Kerry was one of the first environmentalists in public office & before it was fashionable to be one;
Sec Kerry authored the environmental policy (that was blocked in the senate) and was chair of the committee;
if I remember correctly, he was at the meetings that wrote Kyoto Protocols; I trust the judgment he will come to on this issue
NW, this post is a perfect complement to the R&S, where everyone confronted the hate and ugliness that was made raw and visible after the verdict. This is about the power of love, which is much stronger than hate. If we love each other and pull together in a mighty and continuing struggle for justice and fairness, we will overcome the hatred. During the long and strenuous days of both Obama presidential campaigns, tens and thousands of people worked side by side, comforted each other, supported each other, shed tears, shared laughter and hugged each other with joy on election night. The fight doesn’t end with election day; it goes on year after year until we remake the society and recreate the laws and institutions of justice that work for all people, not just a few. Our numbers will grow and the love will grow and even when we get knocked down, millions and millions of us will get up again and keep going because we won’t rest until everyone’s voice is heard and every single one of those voices is equal.

This tea party movement is one part Dick Armey and company fake astroturf protest, one part angry McCain and Palin soreloserman, one part abortion clinic protester, one part white nationalist militia movement/gun rights nuts, one part ClusterFox/Glenn Beck brain dead watcher, one part anti-immigration Lou Dobbs/Tom Tancredo fan, one part southern racist that isn’t done fighting the Civil War yet and one part Ron Paul/Libertarian.
What could ever go wrong with that special blend of tea?
It’s really sad that so many have criticized Holder and how not a whole lot of people seem to back him that claim to be liberal. The fact is he’s done more than any other attorney general in a very long time and has stood up to the ugly face of adversity. This white male knows who the good guys are and the GOP are the enemy of all that is good in the United States. Here’s hoping that we get another democratic president in 2017.
