Did I just never notice WH photographers between LBJ and PBO, or did they just suck?

As i said on the last thread the NBA All-Star weekend is coming up. It is a big fun celebration for basketball fans and POTUS interview will be a highlight.
Sir Charles is a regular on TNT basketball.

I saw on one of the MSNBC shows that Shaq had an investment in the high rise in NJ in a city not experiencing much Sandy damage that funds were channeled to. He endorsed Christy. Could that be why?

    Soooooo, this happened

And it resulted in Netflix and the actress on the show freaking out.

    p.s. She’s a Democrat. (Not that it’s a major issue, but it’s pretty sweeeeet.)

In other words, political journalists turned their focus away from being the source of information to become analysts of the power game. Voters/citizens are objectified via the assumption that we are merely the field on which these games are played..

Hopefruit asked about the Dem retreat this morning:

And Dakota asked about contributing to DCCC — this is such an important election year — this country so needs an infrastructure bank, and it needs to begin now, when interest rates are still low. Also, PrioritiesUSA is now a PUMA-in-waiting organization… bah on PUMAs.

Heard an interesting report a couple of days ago on the radio @KNX1070 when a local elected official touted the benefits of an infrastructure bank to prepare the entire state of CA for drought (Los Angeles has over a year of water on tap, but other places, especially in northern California aren’t as prepared).

Love it when celebrities use their spotlight for great activism and issues of political, social, cultural, and economic importance.

The Stand Your Ground law in Florida is insane. It feels like it’s open season for racist whites to come after Blacks, kill them, say they felt threatened and then get off free. When Black people attempt to use the defense that is supposedly equal, they get shafted.

The man killed Jordan Davis, drove home, ordered food and chilled. SERIOUSLY?!?! That’s what you do after killing a human being? After killing a child?!

Enough is enough. Black bodies count too.

Jesse Williams is 100% correct: β€˜It is not a black problem. It is a white problem. This is an American problem. It is a societal problem.’

I couldn’t agree more NW. It burns me that some many states have these heinous laws. This is why every election is so important. These laws must go!

I’m on pins and needles about this trial. The outcome is so important. I watched the trial and I do believe the prosecution made a very compelling case. Afraid to get my hopes up, though. Too many knots in my stomach.

I glad the jury didn’t come back in an hour – and hope that they are conflicted between 1st or 2nd degree – but … If they believe his story it would seem that it will become open season in Florida – it is truly important – kids don’t deserve to die because someone doesn’t like their music.

My reason was a different way of saying what you said JoB – there is no doubt the two were completely intertwined in the mind of the defendant.

        • February 13, 2014 at 9:36 pm

Well, they are deliberating on five charges, so there’s quite a lot of discussion and evidence to ponder to hammer all that our. But I think you may be right. They may be tussling over 1st and 2nd degree murder.

His story is not only full of many, many glaring holes, his attitude and demeanor on the stand were appalling. Don’t know how the jury saw it but I was shocked by his smug and downright nasty attitude to the prosecution and his detachment when questioned about the details by the defense. Just revolting. UGH.

I have The Rachel Maddow Show playing behind me and Holy Smokes she is Methodically Zeroing on North Carolina…….Folks, this is Not the 1st time she has focused on NC. She has had their number for quite some time now, following their Art Pope influence, having public schools to basically segregate, Taxing the poor and giving the rich tax breaks, Voter suppression, Chemical spills, and now The Governor…….Go Rachel, Go, Go ❗ Dr. Maddow went to NC last year and focused on a Student who was being denied his right to run for office as a College. The guy won

I love the book idea – “More than a Widow” – how true is that – way too often – men are described by their occupation – women by their marital status.

Bobfr aka Mr. Discharge Petition Man – Did you see Rachel’s show where she said the House Dems are talking about filing the discharge petition next week on the $10.10 minimum wage … and did you see where she said Schumer’s talking about using the discharge petition to get immigration reform going in the Senate?

Now, I know you don’t want any credit for this stuff, but I, for one (and I know there are many), thought of you and your push immediately when I heard it! Congrats!
