That was still true 5 Days ago.

Today? Well……She gets a Huge Raise.

DETROIT, Feb 10 (Reuters) – General Motors Co’s Mary Barra, the auto industry’s first female chief executive officer, will be paid $14.4 million in cash and stock this year, 60 percent more than her predecessor, the automaker disclosed on Monday.

GM had previously said Barra, 52, would receive up to $4.4 million in cash and stock compensation this year, but that amount did not include what she would receive under the company’s long-term compensation plan, which totals $10 million.

The long-term portion is subject to shareholder approval at the company’s annual meeting in June. GM said Barra’s total is an increase of 60 percent over her predecessor, Dan Akerson, who stepped down last month.

It seems the partisanship has well moved into New Jersey – note all the democrats who were partisan when they supported Gov Christie – no sigh from the republicans that they would return the favor – yet the media insists “both sides do it”

“All three motions were approved, with the four Republicans on the committee abstaining and the eight Democrats voting yes. ”

The GOP won’t even vote for the motions that Kelly and Stepien must produce documents as specified in their subpoenas – despite the views of counsel. They have no conscience, they have no morals – they care not for the people they represent.

I mentioned that somewhere Bob ( great minds think alike) – of course the four GOP members on the committee abstained from voting. Must still be scared of the Christie outreach – or more likely are just locked into saying NO.

CHICAGO (AP) โ€” A former employee in Illinois Treasurer Dan Rutherford’s office filed a federal lawsuit Monday claiming the Republican gubernatorial candidate made inappropriate sexual advances and regularly forced him to do political work on state time, allegations Rutherford has strongly denied.

Ed Michalowski, a former lawyer and director in Rutherford’s office, alleges in the lawsuit that Rutherford’s sexual advances began in April 2011, shortly after Michalowski began working in the office, and continued for more than two years. The lawsuit also claims Rutherford asked Michalowski to set up meetings with potential donors for campaign contributions and organize parades and petition drives while he was working for the state.

Exclusive: Duo tracks double-dipping in U.S. oil firms’ toxic tank cleanup

A pioneer in cleaning up toxic messes, Thomas Schruben long suspected major oil companies of being paid twice for dealing with leaks from underground fuel storage tanks – once from government funds and again, secretly, from insurance companies.

Schruben, a detail-oriented Maryland environmental engineer who helped draft government pollution rules going back 30 years, looked for a lawyer to help ferret out what he believed could in some cases be fraud. He found a partner in Dennis Pantazis, a buoyant, mustachioed son of Greek immigrants in Alabama known for bringing environmental and civil rights cases.

“Together we started unraveling the mystery,” Schruben said.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Schruben’s former employer, has called the rusted, leaky steel tanks the single largest threat to groundwater in the United States. Often built for gas stations during the 1950s and ’60s highway construction boom, the tanks corroded over time, spilling gas and diesel with

potentially cancer-causing chemicals under properties and into aquifers.

The two men assembled a team of lawyers, investigators and experts to search public records and case files for evidence and brought their findings to state governments, hoping to be hired as advisers or legal counsel. New Mexico paid more than $1 million in attorney fees after one $5.2 million settlement from Chevron last September.

They now are involved in around 20 cases across the country and officials in several states said they could never have brought the cases without Schruben, Pantazis and their team.

Whatever companies have done this, should be fined. At the very least. They are ripping off the taxpayers, for starters

Saw on tweety that Dr. Ben Carson is getting paid to now tell audiences that the Obama presidency is Nazi Land!!! NAZIS!!! Run for your lives! His last brilliant theme—–at last year’s prayer breakfast—-sigh—-was that Obamacare is “worse than slavery”—-very insightful, Ben. Also charged that PBO ordered the IRS to take him down. I have no idea how he managed a medical career. The guy seems like a real screwball——the screwiest of screwballs.

      Good evening dotster3,

Hope you are having a wonderful Monday.

I use to think the world of Ben Carson when his career bloomed and his story was told of how his mother sacrificed to get him educated. I know that she did not teach him how to hate.

The crap that spews from his mouth is pure adulterated hate and evilness towards President Obama. I see him as nothing more than a sick pathetic fool, who has been bought by, no other than “Mr. Charlie.”

His ignorance defies all common sense……he’s nothing more than an educated fool. A lot of mouth and nothing between his ears when it comes to common sense. It is sickening how the repukes refer to everything as being about Hitler. People died under Hitler’s regime, when did President Obama kill someone? Nothing but hate and it makes me sick……..,

“…heโ€™s nothing more than an educated fool. ”

You are absolutely right Cindy about Ben Carson! As we went off to colleges, my grandmother (may she RIP) always urged us not to become “educated fools,” so much so that we lose common sense. Prominent Black folks, like Dr. Ben Carson are truly tragic. They seem to be unaware that they are being used by right wingers who still look down on all Black people. Sadly, they really think that they will earn the love and respect of racist right wingers by dissing President Obama.

The truth is that he is an aspiring teabagger, a wannabe Ted Cruz, that is saying anything to get attention now that he has left wherever he was practicing his medicine. He has no clue that he is being used by the RWN that have no genuine interest in him save that he is a Black man they can use against POTUS.

This was discussed here at TOD when that picture of Wildstein and Christie came out of them going to the 9/11 event during the time of the closing. Someone here said that they figured that they helicoptered to that event and that Christie would have seen that mess on that bridge.

      • February 10, 2014 at 8:06 pm

Indeed Donna it was discussed here and, what’s cool is that today the Committee has subpoenaed the NJ State Police aviation unit for their flight logs. Unless someone at NJ State Police was willing to scrub the logs for Christie, if Christie and/or Wildstein indeed flew over the GWB on 9/11, then those logs will certainly contain flight plan details and persons on board.

      • February 10, 2014 at 8:11 pm

And, you know that lots of folk knew exactly how he got there. so it’s no surprise the Committee is going after those NJ State Police flight logs ๐Ÿ™‚ What will be truly damning is if Wildstein or any of the others accompanied him. Would not surprise me if one of the items of ‘evidence’ Wildstein has is a selfie with Christie on board or next to the helicopter ๐Ÿ™‚

It always puzzle me that Christie would fire these people before he sat down with them and found out why they did what they did. His excuse is he didn’t care why they did it, it only matter that they lied to him. To that I say B.S. If he knew nothing about it, he would want answers as to why his people thought it was okay to do what they did.

We spent a few days “flooded in” a couple of years ago – no power, no TV no internet. All we could hear were the news helicopters telling the rest of the population about our misery. The noise sent me stir crazy and more.

I ripped into the TV stations that owned the damn helicopters – and it was then reported they were out here looking for people needing help and how horrible I was – the lying media – they weren’t looking for anyone when they hovered over my house – they were taking pictures for their never ending news of disaster. Everyone was perfectly safe – we were simply cut off from our world.

Crist described a 2009 meeting between President Obama and the National Governors Association where Republican contempt and disrespect for the president was on full display:

It wasnโ€™t that reasonable people couldnโ€™t exchange insights on these important issues. It was that the loudmouths in the room seemed far more intent on lecturing the president. To me, it sounded more like finger-pointingโ€”five or six beers inโ€”than any give-and-take between the nationโ€™s governors and the leader of the free world. It wasnโ€™t everyone. But it was enough of them. And for a while there, they all but commandeered the room. I hadnโ€™t said anything. In settings like this one, I donโ€™t usually feel the need to hear myself talk. In a room packed with politicians, there are always plenty of blowhards to fill the air. But I could feel the president was getting ready to wrap up the sessions, and I was seething in my seat.

I just may have to pick up his book!
