Good evening TODville. It is now very cold in MT. We are getting the cold air here now. Suppose to be -14 in the morning. Winter is really here. We don’t have the snow problem you have in Chicago. We would love more here.

CarolMaeWY, is thankful for all your thoughts. She does get on twitter everyday for a short time. She can’t handle being on the computer for very long. She isn’t sure how long she will have to wear an eye patch and sunglasses.

I love Etta James. Thanks for the video. Great video to go to bed with.

What an impressive young man. I wish him all the best. Wish we could find several more hungry young people throughout this country who are willing to take on the status quo in DC with the same zeal as Clay has. I’ll be sending that young man a donation real soon.

Today’s plans did not work out due to no power at our groups meeting place. Too cold without heat so we cancelled. Tomorrow was to be lunch out with a friend that also got cancelled. It was to be an early bday celebration due to forecast snow for Saturday. The snow forecast is now for both tomorrow and Saturday. May be a low key birthday this year, but I am blessed nonetheless.

Happy Birthday, OG. Sorry your good plans aren’t working out. But there’s nothing that says you can’t celebrate later. Hope you do and in the meantime, enjoy your day whatever the weather brings.

Just saw Clay Aiken’s roll out for NC Rep on Lawrence’s show. I have to agree with O’Donnell, that was a great video and message. No games just what he thinks.

Post on FB, which cracked me up (keep in mind it’s snark):

    Snarky In the Suburbs
I just got the email that my kids have no school tomorrow. That’s makes Snow Day #3. Seriously, if the roads are clear enough that I can make a wine run to Target and then get a Diet Coke at McDonalds it should be good to go for the school bus. WTH?

Lows in the 20s, highs in the low 30s here in Salem, Oregon. that sounds balmy for some of you. But for here that is frigid. I feel especially bad for those homeless who are sleeping out in this. Fortunately temps will moderate by Sat. We’ll go back into our usual moderate rainy winter.

Clay Aiken for Congress – “Open Door” Campaign Announcement

Here’s a perfect example of how Obamacare will help give people more freedom: my mom has home health aides and we have a lot of discussions when I go visit. One of them told me she’s not happy with the agency, only does it for the insurance (though she is an excellent aide, I should say). She has the idea of starting a sort of concierge service for seniors, people who need errands run, groceries delivered etc. I pointed out to her that now, with Obamacare, she can start her own business and buy economical health insurance on her own without worrying.

      February 6, 2014 at 12:19 am

That’s a beautiful example! And what a great idea for her to consider starting that type of concierge service, much needed!

      February 6, 2014 at 7:38 am

Elly, if she went forward with this idea, she’s be doing a great service for the elderly. Many are stymied by the fact that they can’t run simple errands and are reluctant to keep asking friends and relatives for help. It would be a terrific mental health boost for many if they had such a service. Hope she follows through with ObamaCare and starts her business.

He sure doesn’t sound like a senator looking after his state. That sounds to me like someone telling Chris Christie things will be better in the future.

My paranoid thought is that those pushing for Hillary in 2016 want the dems to fail in November – they want the next 2 years to be worse than the previous two for all Americans so Hillary can ride in as the savior of the land. You should have elected her in 2008 and none of this horrible GOP hate would ever have happened!

        February 6, 2014 at 1:20 am

I admit having the same questions in my mind. Although it would be a bizarre calculation. If the next two years are worse, wouldn’t there be a risk that americans elect a republican president because it would mean “real change” ?

Hi Lp – are you up late or not in the eastern time world?

Hillary has high personal approval and the GOP is seriously missing a valid candidate – Christie may have been halfway there but he is well gone. They don’t even have a Romney. They seem to have religious RWNJs and other RWNJs. Obamacare is also going to be a BIG plus for the dems if the GOP crazies are still discussing a repeal – so I think any dem in 2016 could run on “look what the GOP has done to our country”.

Thus said – it is probably some of the Clinton supporters rather than herself or her key staff who are thinking this way. I would just like her to accept that she lost – the time is past. If Al Gore could accept that he did not win (he sure didn’t lose) and get on with his life – everyone who lost in 2008, 2012 should be able to do the same. I thought Romney had got there until the past few weeks – but his hiccup was probably the media looking for a new GOP savior when they realized they couldn’t save Christie.

i’ve been saying this since bill was president – the clintons are propped up by the 1% (i.e. media owners) in order to divide and conquer democrats. with the 2008 primary season, the subsequent PUMA fights, and now this kind of stuff…i don’t know how much obvious it can be.

Everyone should be tweeting her and asking the simple question – Are you going to do everything you possibly can to ensure President Obama has a Democratic Party controlled 114th Congress. Make it impossible for her to side step that issue. I certainly will be doing so.

      Yes We Can

I wonder if this is the Bill Burton pac? While the Koch brothers are planning to spend millions of dollars, the deems are setting us up for a 2010 repeat. We are our worst enemy.

JOB, that tells me we have to work harder and give more to those who know what the right Democratic priorities are. I will give to candidates, not a pack, and won’t give a dime to any Hillary-related group.

I’m just listening to the Rachel replay – Water is still undrinkable in WV & now power is being attacked in California – and everyone is screaming “Why doesn’t the government do something?”

The true result of outsourcing the most important of vital government services. Adequate power and clean water are the true necessities of our lives. Without them most else is worthless.

hahahahaha – GOP got nothing – Joe seems to be thinking Sarah Palin is the big white hope – he is not a fan – in the same way he is not supporting Chris Christie – the guy has a big problem – does he ever get on the right side of anything
