lady from the NY TImes – telling Nicole Wallace – NO – our reporting was spot on correct.
She is now flattening Morning Joe – who is instantly interrupting – bloviator – and the lady explains to MorningJoe – he is WRONG.
They are trying to flatten the NY Times – because Christie told lies.
GM layla – was a riot listening to them all talking over each other – the republican way to interview people. It highlights how well Chris K has been running his segments – he asks each guest a question, allows them to answer, then asks the next person. No yelling, no interrupting.
I can’t watch, but I’m reveling in your reporting. Though I must say, to me Bridgegate is just some mess…small potatoes and a matter he can easily “legally” overcome. Months ago, I was viciously attacked when I suggested Christie was playing footsy with the Sandy funds and I still believe that’s where the culprit is. He rebuilt the boardwalk while citizens were still in temporary housing. In fact, they were threatening to cast them to the streets. Private donations totaled over a hundred million dollars. Then the boardwalk “mysteriously” burned to the ground. I ain’t buying it.
I watch online Fay – haven’t watched for a year – but their attempts to recover Christie is amazing. Poor Chuckie actually said something humorous – when asked about the NY Times item he said
“Ask the NY Times reporter , i have trouble looking after my own reports” He then looked gloom for the rest of the segment.
I think Bridgegate IS a problem because it was such a stupid, pointless idea – and it is impossible to believe that Christie wasn’t in his office – or down at the 9/11 event – laughing with Wildstein because of the problems in Fort lee. Thus said, as you say it is not something he will probably be jailed for – he can talk his way out of it. He could be forced to resign over it.
Sandy money – where the Federal charges will come from. Big problem
It’s hilarious and horrifying at the same time to see that even now, Joe can’t bring himself to accept that Christie is finished, that he doesn’t belong ANYWHERE the White House. Stages of grief and all, but for the love of God Joe, are you willing to put a MAFIOSO, a new NIXON, in the Oval office ? Seriously ??!!
You’ll note that CPAC has invited Christie this year. Watch him going there and becoming their hero… Hasn’t he become the VICTIM of the big bad democrats who want to “destroy” him because he can beat Hillary Clinton ? Mark my words, Christie is on the verge of becoming the hero of the republican base. And the media will get very excited about him again… As for Christie himself, I bet that he’s concocted a new strategy; 1) he becomes the far right’s hero . 2) he becomes so popular among “the base” that he convinces the GOP establishment and the media he’s the inevitable GOP nominee. And 3) he thinks that once he is seen as “inevitable”, the establishment and the mainstream media go back to protect him.
Problem is: we’re not in the 70s anymore, when the Watergate scandal grew slowly so Nixon had time to be re-elected. Nope, information is traveling too fast these days. Also, fortunately, the scandal is breaking up a whole year before the primaries; there’s plenty of time for NAILING the guy…
Message to Bridget Kelly: please realize Chris Christie doesn’t give a damn about you, and tell investigators what you know. So America won’t have to be submitted to his hypocrisy any longer. Moreover, Bridget, if you’re a true believer and want to do something good for your party, you have to abandon Christie. NOW. He’s bad news for your party, and for America.
Message to David Willstein: if it’s true that you keep lots of records, please just give them all to investigators, immunity or not. Your reputation is ruined anyway, and nobody will want to do “business” with you. Might as well help put all the crooks in jail…
Thanks for the reply – Interestingly – when I looked at the CPAC site Christie is not yet in the list of confirmed or asked speakers – I’m wondering if the invitation was given before all the latest events?
Without doubt Wildstein was a good friend of Christies – and he has been thrown under the bus & the wheels are running back and forth over him – Joe & Mika are so stupid they haven’t yet seen what the Governor does to his friends – no wonder the Mayor did not want to be his enemy.
I never would have guessed – there is a lady on MJ now who is explaining that girls change the day they turn 13 – if Joe would shut up and let her talk – we would be hearing what most of us already know.
My lovely daughter turned from the most loving daughter in the world to a misfit who hated us all – the day she turned 13.
“And on that fourth day, on Thursday, Christina Renna wrote to Bridget Kelly this email about the Fort Lee traffic disaster and the mayor of Fort Lee.
Dear Bridget, this afternoon Evan received a call from Mayor Sokolich. The Mayor’s extremely upset about the reduction of toll lanes from 3 to 1. Not only is it causing horrendous traffic backup in town, but first responders are having a terrible time maneuvering the traffic because the backup is so severe. The Mayor told Evan he has no idea why Port Authority decided to do this, but there is a feeling in town that it is government retribution for something. He simply can’t understand why that would be the case however, because he has always been so supportive of the Governor. Evan told the fine Mayor, he was unaware the toll lanes were closed, but would see what he could find out.
This is an email during the bridge shutdown. It’s to Bridget Kelly who ordered the bridge shutdown. It is from Christina Renna, who worked in the Governor’s office. The Evan who is referenced in the email, we think is probably Evan J. Ridley, who also works in the Governor’s office. Nobody seems to know what his exact job title is other than Aide to the Governor. ”
‘there is a feeling in town that it is government retribution for something. He simply can’t understand why that would be the case however, because he has always been so supportive of the Governor.’

Well, that last statement is not quite true. I’d be happier if Christie the bully gets some time in jail. I want to see if Mrs. Bully Christie would be smiling then as she was when he was in that teacher’s face.
This was a couple of weeks ago vc – things are getting worse for the Governor as each day passes. I was simply highlighting where the latest resignation fits in. It also highlights that people in the Gov’s office were pretending they didn’t know the lanes were closed. Same as the Governor is pretending he didn’t know the lanes were closed.
O, the time doesn’t matter with regards to my comment. Thank you for your highlight. 😀 The fact Renna could so casually mention that people feel the action is ‘government retribution for something’ and link it to ‘always … supportive of the Governor’ tells me there was a pretty acceptable culture of kowtowing to Christie.
Good morning. Winter’s roaring in with a vengeance today and heavy snow is expected all day. Hope somebody else is getting sunshine. Being ‘confined’ to quarters is getting old. Have a great day.
I can sympathize with you on the darned snow. We don’t have it today, but we have been in the deep freeze again. This is getting monotonous . Hope everyone had a good Super Bowl party, I was stunned what the final score was. There was only 2.5 spread on the game. Love it. MN is pulling for a Super Bowl in 2016, after our new stadium is built I guess. It has been a few years. Time for breakfasr. BBL.
Althea Gibson, the first AA to win a Tennis Grand Slam event, the French Open and then later Wimbledon was also a talented vocalist and saxophonist who appeared at the legendary Apollo Theater and on the Ed Sullivan show before starting her tennis career.
Great factoid, Donna. I had tremendous admiration for Althea Gibson when she first appeared on the scene. She was a great athlete and a terrific role model for all young women.
Frightening. It’s hard to believe that this type of thinking is still pervasive in many areas of the country. These people are being held back, are being hampered and damaged by their religious beliefs.
Given this platform to reach an unusually large audience, O’Reilly wasted it with bitterly partisan nonsense. He could have addressed some of the issues that are currently on the minds of the American people, like the economy and jobs, immigration reform, the Keystone XL Pipeline, or the situations in Syria and Iran. He could have dug deeper into the President’s recent State of the Union speech and sought to get him to elaborate on income equality. He might even approached the tribulations of New Jersey governor Chris Christie, or legalizing marijuana.
But no. O’Reilly stuck with the Fox News manufactured scandal mongering related to ObamaCare, the IRS, and as always, Benghazi.
My comment below is a pretty good companion piece to yours, 99.
The Shocker is that in common belief The New York Times is considered a Liberal newspaper. Hahahahahahahahaha.
The heading on the NYT piece put me off – I didn’t give them the click. The interview was pointless. Perhaps neither of them wanted to be there? The body language showed a relaxed President and an aggressive/uptight O’Reilly. I really wonder why O’Reilly didn’t bring up Kenya and birth certificates.
Very few mentions in the media – which is as it should be. I do find it amusing that Morning Joe – like O’Reilly – brings up Benghazi!!! every chance he gets. They give Christie the benefit of the doubt (what doubt I scream) but Benghazi!!! which after 15 inquiries shows – a terrorist attack – 4 people died.
Well, 99ts, all of that would have been possible if O’Reilly was NOT O’Reilly. Once he was assigned the gig, you knew it would be partisan junk. The president might have had hopes that it could have been a more enlightened interview, but I’m sure his expectations were low. At least he showed that he would go anywhere and doesn’t cower from these little idiots.
The President knows that the big problem of the US media is the lies they spread around the country. He takes any opportunity to call them on this – and did so with O’Reilly.
My googling found many on the right annoyed that O’Reilly wasted an opportunity – but maybe O’Reilly was smart – he knew he would not come out well in the interview – so Benghazi!!!
NYTimes hideous this morning. Article by ubber-turd Peter Baker a complete distorted lie basically in which Billo tackles PBO and wins. Peter Baker must be headed for Fox. He has been doing hit pieces on The President for as long as I can recall.
Peter Baker apparently thinks Bill OR question selection—website IRS BENGHAZI is what a good interviewer would choose.
In other news we are having the third major snowstorm since Jan 1
And Barack Obama is The President of The USA!! So, no matter what, it is still a good day.
Plus I hear another major storm (even bigger than the current one) is headed up that way by next week Sunday/Monday….still early to tell, but it is a fair possibility. Stay warm (and safe) Vicki!!!
Amen, to the last statement, Vicki. I guess, the NYT thinks it’s being ‘fair’ to present one side. Nobody who watched the interview would agree with Baker’s view except the already biased far right. So he’s basically speaking to himself. Once in a great while, there’s a breakout article in the NYT that’s worth reading, but it’s mostly become insufferable over the years. The Saturday and Sunday puzzles are good, but we get them separately, online, without having to buy the newspaper.
Coming to this site is my morning ritual and brings me so much serenity and laugh at times. So many witty comments.
It’s another long snowy morning here; I may have to miss my physical therapy session again. What a winter! Why so much snow? I wish I could send rain to California. All I wish for on a daily basis is for the sun to come out and shine on my world. I’ll take the rain from time to time. But the snow should only come down in the evening and disappear in the morning. Hope I haven’t offended any snow lover here.
Can anyone explain to me what Alaska has to do with the keystone Pipeline – does it go anywhere near Alaska? Why is their dem senator wanting the pipeline?
That’s the point – “Thug” more aptly describes Christie and his minions who have made an industry out of rule-violation and corruption, than they do a football player who momentarily lost his temper.
A compelling case against Christie by presenting 2 photos side by side.
First photo is dated 9/11/13 and shows Christie, Sampson & Wildstein yukking it up at the 9/11 memorial site in Lower Manhattan.
Second photo—same day—-show the 4 day Bridge tie-up in progress.
Would you want this Clueless Dope to be Your Governor?
I had no interest in watching Bill O’Reilly yesterday (or ever), although I read about some of PBO’s great comments to that idiot. it wasn’t until I was watching the news this morning that I saw that thug O’Reilly *wagging his finger* at POTUS and saying “I want to get some things on record”. That makes me so angry – the complete disrespect, stupidity and idiocy of questions. I know you’ve probably all discussed this yesterday – but @#%@#$@#$ Fox. 😦 I did LOL at the body language, but then I switched over to the Weather Channel ASAP.
Mucatinegal, it is enraging, but O’Reilly is a very little man with a limited intellect who will be forgotten by time. Our president is a man of infinite intellect who will be remember and honoredfor as long as there is a United States of America. To PBO, O’Reilly is the equivalent of a pesky gnat. Don’t let him get under your skin.
Yes, our president does have infinite intellect. It’s really something to watch him deal with these ants. Although I did not watch the Billo interview……I cannot tolerate him at all.
Ta Nehisi Coates used another term to describe the president in his editorial: agile intelligence. I think we see this portrayed whenever he comes up against one of these cavemen. They are stumped and locked in to their talking points….he’s not. I’m sure he views these stupid interviews as little more than a kindergarten exercise. That’s how these people look in relation to him…….but they’ll never realize it, wrapped as they are in their little bubble….no one ever tells them the truth. (Same with the WHPC every day. Kindergarteners)
It’s Monday! The sun is shining brightly. Looks like the start of a great week (if I don’t focus on the load of white stuff on the roof, in the driveway, on the ground, all around)!
A very good day to ALL TODobots, and all visitors to the village who mean well! Life is good – because we are here, despite our different stories!
Wishing everyone a blessed Monday (including those at the tail end of Monday)!! 😀
So this is the part when morons in a country where the most common language was imported from England go all nativist about the how people speak in the nation that their non-indigenous ancestors populated by way of illegal immigration because Coke corporation decided to be decent human beings in their ad campaign embracing the melting pot that the founders where so proud to create.
Did I make it?
Yes you did! Mooooooorning FayPax, moooooorning everyone!
You did – I was chatting to you back there & missed the announcement 🙂
You came in before Ms Chips – very well done 🙂
I planned all that, 99. Learned it from Joe. 🙂
hahahahaha – are you listening to them screaming at each other
Wallace: Of course Christie knew the lanes were closed
NYT reporter – Christie said he DID NOT KNOW the lanes were closed

He also believes in ” opportunity ” but apparently not ” equal opportunity. He and Manning deserve each other.
No. He just believes in playing a game that taxpayers subsidize. I never liked that horse-face fool.
He doesn’t believe in safety nets? Yet he enjoys unfair tax benefits personally and profession as NFL 32 Teams pay Zero on Taxes?
Fox TV Station didn’t bring those facts up, right?
I never would have guessed – there is a lady on MJ now who is explaining that girls change the day they turn 13 – if Joe would shut up and let her talk – we would be hearing what most of us already know.

One of mine became such a monster she ran away and I was finally able to get some sleep. When the police found her…I got mad. 🙂
LOL!!!!!!!!
I understand the sentiment – I was so so pleased that I only had the one. 🙂
Oh Dear FayPax,
You gave me such a laugh with this comment. Priceless. A nice way to start my Monday snowy morning.
Happy Monday everyone.
Congrats on first FayPax
How about those Seahawks!!
Hi Africa – they sure ran away with that game – deserve all the accolades
Hi 99ts. Hope all is well in your world. Yes, they did. That are a young group. I love their team philosophy.
Morning Africa. The Seahawks…..Thugilicious! 🙂
Dropping like flies.

Good Morning TODVille!
Coming to this site is my morning ritual and brings me so much serenity and laugh at times. So many witty comments.
It’s another long snowy morning here; I may have to miss my physical therapy session again. What a winter! Why so much snow? I wish I could send rain to California. NCLB, like you, I am sick of snow. No matter how idyllic it looks outside my window, it has lost its charm.
Can anyone explain to me what Alaska has to do with the keystone Pipeline – does it go anywhere near Alaska? Why is their dem senator wanting the pipeline?
I believe it is because a majority of Alaska voters are of the ‘drill baby drill’ variety. Same with other Dems in conservative states who support it.
ty dotster – no doubt they are happy that other states will have to handle the leaks
This whole Christie situation is a VIP Tour of Thuggery!
They are also seriously stupid hf – the guy earns over $100,000 & he stole goods to the value of $267!!
The whole Crispy saga is fodder fit for a comedic television series. I’m certain clever TODers can come up with a clever title. 🙂
Thug Boss
🙂
Real Thugs of New Jersey
Scandal II
More to come….
🙂
I don’t know about using “Thug” in the title. Everyone will think it’s about a quarterback. 🙂
That’s the point – “Thug” more aptly describes Christie and his minions who have made an industry out of rule-violation and corruption, than they do a football player who momentarily lost his temper.
Slapping my forehead. 🙂
I liked this reply to Chuckie (hope the twitter post works!) – re the O’Reilly fail

G’day mates from the Western shore of Lake Michigan where it’s zero degrees F.
gm sailor – stay warm
That will take a bit o’ effort. How’s things down under?
hot – but at least its not flooding
At least there’s that. The ppl in California wish they could have a flood……We could use some climate change there, on the wet side though.
We ended a 10 year drought with a flood – it will happen
We will see……It’s about your bedtime, eh?
over and out 🙂
Bravo Zulu!(well done)

Forgive your Republican friends if they’re grumpy. They get like that when 10 million people sign up for health
insurance in 4 months.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed. Bravo and good luck & success to you SOS Kerry!
Riiiiiiiise and Shine!
