You are such a good news person Ms Chips – but I just have to put Christie atop the good news pile. He can’t get through this one – no matter how much he looks and talks with contrition. Bullies cannot hide behind b…s… for very long.

    an update for those who were following this story ;

ABC has a story out about the plane crash in TN with 4 on board – no names yet

    some reaction

Believe Reba lost members of her band in a plane crash once – yes? So apparently, she’s heard the rumors.

      • February 3, 2014 at 9:14 pm

I was going to respond to GCL with the same comment.

Since I was raised in San Diego, I remember that crash. The plane slammed into a mountain east of San Diego.

I think the weather was clear, but the accident may have occurred at night, and the plane was later determined to be overloaded. (My memory’s a bit hazy on the details.)

Nashville’s a small town, I’m sure the music industry is on pins and needles over this news.

Too cute! I wish my four-legged baby would let me dress him up like this, but he won’t. He has chewed through every harness I’ve purchased for him. He kept a sweater on for about 15 minutes before he figured how to take it off. Forget the booties. He’d never go for those! 😦

        February 3, 2014 at 9:08 pm

LOL! Dogs really aren’t meant to be dressed like this because their fur and pack existence is supposed to offer them natural protection against the cold. But I guess the domestically-raised dog without packs of other dogs could benefit from the extra padding…

He just did a 1 hour radio interview

He’s authorized and internal investigation – hahahaha – “to get into the situation”

He didn’t close lanes – he only closed the toll gates – for a traffic study!!!

Bluff and buster – he still thinks there was a traffic study!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

          • February 3, 2014 at 9:11 pm

Well, I’m relieved to hear he’s authorized an internal investigation, that should ensure the truth will come out 😆

He did that weeks ago – no indications as to if it is/was happening to date.

He will probably add a couple of pages to the traffic study power point and call it the result of his inquiry.

” … he’s used to ruling by fear. But the problem is no one’s scared any more … people smell blood in the water.” — Tara Dowdell, politicial strategist, speaking about Christie on MSNBC

    • 49 99ts
      February 3, 2014 at 8:36 pm

Chris Hayes should listen to “Up with Steve”. He is jumping from a to b to c without the logical explanations that Steve gives. This story is going to generate 10 volumes before it is finished.

      • 50 jacquelineoboomer
        February 3, 2014 at 8:44 pm

It is very hard to follow – even though Steve carefully details it, there are so many words needed, it’s not easy to speak it or sit through it. I don’t usually watch Chris Hayes at all, but decided to catch up on the fiasco that is Chris Christie tonight … already I’m losing interest based on his jumpiness. Can’t stand his juvenile delivery.

    • 51 jackiegrumbacher
      February 3, 2014 at 9:39 pm

JOB, that Tara Dowdell nailed it. That’s exactly what’s happening–the ‘fear’ isn’t working anymore and Christie has lost his axis. He doesn’t know where to turn anymore.

      • 52 jacquelineoboomer
        February 3, 2014 at 10:05 pm

        And I laugh.

I am so wishing he has to resign in disgrace, in the dark of night. New Jersey residents – even those who don’t know it – would be in such a better place if he’s just gone. Too bad everyone kept quiet before the election, no doubt in fear of his reprisals – not too many profiles in courage in that crowd, but for Mayor Zimmer who got finally her groove back, so to speak, even if a little later than we would have liked.

Oh, poor little Christie staffer, worried about her ” … Fifth Amendment constitutional right against self-incrimination and Fourth Amendment right against wrongful search and seizure.”

Yeah, we wouldn’t want anybody or anybody’s possessions wrongfully searched and seized in this country. Can’t have that, unless the shoe’s on the other person’s foot.

And there is ALWAYS a pundit who says “President Obama should make sure ….” So when Christie misuses the Sandy money – let’s blame the President and the Feds for not ensuring Christie follows the rules!!!

  18. February 3, 2014 at 8:45 pm

A comment from from veteran NJ-Port-Authority-watcher Scott Raab at Esquire:

… From the moment Chris Christie
spent his 2-hour press conference feeling sad and betrayed by the same people he empowered and relied on, one overarching truth was made plain:
For Christie to survive his second term as Governor, many people — all with careers, families, and dreams of their own — would have to fall on their own swords. Such people may, in theory, exist. None of ‘em worked for Chris Christie.

Good evening all TOD family. It is now cold, cold, cold in MT. 2 degrees tonight and -20 wind chill. Suppose to be this way all week. It had been so warm earlier I had complained. Just wish the change wasn’t so dramatic.

I have been in touch with CarolmaeWY. She hasn’t been able to be around much because she has a problem eye. She is trying to take care of it. She is on Twitter sometimes and tries to come here to lurk but can’t be on the computer very long. She sends her best to everyone and really misses the interaction. I know she will be back soon.

Now I must go back and read all the other posts for the day.

Christie can’t remember what he said last week. He is in so much trouble. I am thankful everyday for our President and for TOD.

I am so glad to see everything that’s happening to CC! That may not be the nicest attitude, but I have despised that man since his election in 2009. I knew the first time I saw and heard him what he is: a lying, bullying, coward. I could not understand at all why he appealed to anybody. I saw his bullying of the teacher in his first year, and developed a visceral hatred of the man…..I know I’m not supposed to hate, but this man earned it. I absolutely could not tolerate him, and could NOT understand why so many people were fooled by him. He has shown what he is from the get-go. None of this is a surprise.

Don’t be too sure, 99ts. We suffered through GWB for 8 years. It’s not that easy to get rid of some of these politicians who have been covering their tracks for decades. Could well be true – I often wonder about individual morality – or immorality or amorality – what I think is wrong – many would not – and vice versa. I go way overboard with upset when I see what the media does to PBO – yet most are very happy to forgive and forget whatever the big guy might have done or not done – they just want this story to go away.
