Saw the photos of the airport in Milwaukee, that is what it looked like here this morning when I got up. Winds pretty high almost blizzard conditions for about 6 hours. We need some warmer weather and no more snow. 😉

Just catching up with my recording of Bill deBlasio on Rev. Al’s show. When questioned at the end of the interview about Hillary’s chances of being elected president in 2016, the Mayor totally stopped short of singularly endorsing her. He said she’d be a great president, if she chose to run, and that’s all he’d say. Good. DO NOT GO ALONG WITH THE DYNASTY B.S., MAYOR, and we’ll continue to be friends. Ha!

I’m still 3 threads back – but WOW had to comment on FLOTUS – what other first lady has ever had the grace, the skill, the words and the overall everything to have appeared on such a show – able to speak in such a delightful way about anything – she is off the planet – gorgeous, intelligent, almost unbelievable.

    Drip. Drip. Drip.

Christie is now 50/50 believable……Hmm? So said: A Verb, A Noun and 9-11. Just last week, Rudy G was touting praises on Christie for being the MOST Honest Pol he had ever known on MTP and so many TV/Cable outlets. Hmm? Now 50/50?

Things happen as Poll Numbers tank?

No, as dirt comes out… I’m pretty sure Giuliani knew Christie was lying in his press conference. But he thought Christie would be able to weather the storm, with the help of the fawning media. Problem is that Mr. 9-11 didn’t know that some honest, courageous mayor would have the guts to speak out.

OK so #2 and I are watching Tweety, when she says, ‘ his guests probably do rock, paper, scissors, to see who has to sit directly across from him at the table. His chin is actually wet from him spitting so much!” So I wasn’t looking at the TV, but when I turned around to see what she was talking about, all I could say was “eeeeewwwwww!!”

I guess David Corn lost the game and probably had a good wipe down when the cameras cut away. Yuck!

I’m seriously amazed that the are continuing the Christie story – they apologize for every other truth they broadcast – what is different about the Christie attacks? Someone senior at MSNBC doesn’t like Gov Christie

      • 63 Nena20409
        January 30, 2014 at 7:42 pm

I would not go that far. TRMS, LOD have always covered issues they deem Okay to their liking.

MSNBC had Allan Keys, Michael Savage, Jesse Ventura, Tucker Carlson, Imus for over 10 yrs, etc. But they are quick of getting a Leftie out on any comments deemed offensive by the right. Scarborough has said way too many offensive stuff…..but they POWERS that be, allow him and those before him to say all kinds of stuff with little slap on the hand. Tucker called sen Obama a Pothead and also a crackhead or something and he was NEVER suspended or fired. He stayed over one year plus and left in 2009.

And I believe Halperin called PBO the d**k-word on MJ’s show and survived. Not sure I’m remembering on which show he said it correctly, because I really don’t want to remember it.

It is becoming obvious even for JoeScar? I laughed when he was sure Willard Mitterrand Romney was going to win. Axelrod said Nope and he asked Axelrod to bet with him. JScar was so sure. He Lost. That was awesome.

Don’t think he is going to be caught so far on the wrong side this time around Nena. Joe likes to tell us how it is done – what he would have done – he is not going to win the “Christie did not know” argument and he is having a sad.

    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/utah-lawmakers-lunches-weiler-dabakis

A pair of Utah lawmakers are looking to fight a school lunch policy that resulted in the seizure lunches for 40 students whose parents had outstanding balances.

“To me this rises to the level of bullying,” Sen. Todd Weiler (R) said according to the Salt Lake Tribune. “Children were humiliated.”

Weiler and state Sen. Jim Dabakis (D) visited Uintah Elementary School in Salt Lake City on Thursday in response to a Tribune report that the lunches of 40 students were thrown away because their parents owed money to the school.

The idiots who threw the Food away……Must be fired. This is Cruelty. Wicked. Abusive.

    • 75 jacquelineoboomer
      January 30, 2014 at 7:28 pm

Let me guess. An elementary school? No matter; I agree it’s cruel and wicked and abusive. For those told to throw the food away who actually did it, I am also troubled. Take a stand, people!

      • 76 99ts
        January 30, 2014 at 7:35 pm

And then they get amazed when children in elementary school bully each other – children are worthless to these people – after they are born.

We don’t have “school lunches” in my world – do have a shop where children can buy food. I remember being mortified when my one was in grade 1 & I forgot to put lunch in backpack – lovely note from teacher telling me she had taken her to the shop and bought her lunch! She did not want any money – wanted to let me know her students never went hungry at school.

          January 30, 2014 at 9:26 pm

Yes, 99ts, this is more what I’m used to. The office keeps simple snacks handy, feeds the child, then sends a note home as ‘info’ that Johnnie/Jane forgot to bring a lunch.

          • 78 99ts
            January 30, 2014 at 9:30 pm

Similar – although my teacher spent her own money to buy something – which I did give her back despite she protested.

I’ve always thought “school lunches” were a British thing – amazing what you learn on TOD

      • 79 0388jojothecat
        January 30, 2014 at 9:27 pm

I was just thinking under NO circumstance would I take a child’s lunch and throw it away. I would advice whom ever to send a note home the parents. Maybe the parents lost there jobs at least have the parents send the kids with lunch the next day if no meal will be provided. WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?

        • 80 jacquelineoboomer
          January 30, 2014 at 9:34 pm

I can’t see teachers (who buy school supplies for students out of their own pockets, in some districts, when the funding isn’t there, and provide all kinds of love and support to their students) doing this … gotta be bad cafeteria management or school administration. Who would let a child go hungry, and humiliate them like this? No “explanation” of this will suffice.

Once sat in on a presentation by a Philly elementary school principal who said they kept a washer and dryer at school for unfortunate children who would wear the same clothes to school, day after day. They’d wash their clothes at school, giving them a change in outfit to wear during the school day, then send them home in their own clean clothes. Nobody there would be throwing away a child’s lunch. It’s appalling.

    http://www.abc15.com/dpp/news/science_tech/yahoo-email-account-passwords-stolen

Yahoo said Thursday that usernames and passwords of its email customers have been stolen and used to access accounts, but the company isn’t saying how many accounts have been affected.
Yahoo is the second-largest email service worldwide, after Google’s Gmail, according to the research firm comScore. There are 273 million Yahoo mail accounts worldwide, including 81 million in the U.S.
Yahoo Inc. said in a blog post on its breach that “The information sought in the attack seems to be names and email addresses from the affected accounts’ most recent sent emails.”
That could mean hackers were looking for additional email addresses to send spam or scam messages. By grabbing real names from those sent folders, hackers could try to make bogus messages appear more legitimate to recipients.
The bigger danger: access to email accounts could lead to more serious breaches involving banking and shopping sites. That’s because many sites use email to reset passwords. Hackers could try logging in to such a site with the Yahoo email address, for instance, and ask that a password reminder be sent by email.
The breach is the second problem for Yahoo’s mail service in two months. In December, the service suffered a multi-day outage that prompted Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer issue an apology.

This seems to be a daily event. Saying sorry doesn’t help stolen private info…but NSA is a problem??

They work for a corporation. They signed contracts. If they say anything, they will be fired. They are not Joe Scarborough. Imus was offensive and they kept him for 10 yrs. They only fired him after ad buyers started leaving the show. That is how JoeScar can get canned. Starbucks left after many yrs. But Colorofchange, MediaMatters, etc need to seriously Focus on JoeScar to hasten his departure. I have written and called MediaMatters. So far, they have not focused on Scarborough.

I don’t like it when people inject Pres Obama’s name in their arguments over just about every issue. I just wish SheriffFruitfly could have made his/her points and Leaving POTUS out of it.

SheriffFruitfly’s point about MSNBC’s attitude towards PBO is very relevant, which is why I posted the tweet here – just two nights ago, David Corn was busy chastising PBO’s SOTU address for not “going after the GOP” enough.

    Speaking of Happy Dances… http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/wp/2014/01/30/going-on-offense-to-expand-the-vote/

A group of leading Democratic strategists is launching a new political action committee that will raise money for a very specific purpose: Getting Democratic secretaries of state who favor expanded voting elected in four states — Ohio, Colorado, Iowa, and Nevada.
Jeremy Bird, a national field director for Obama’s presidential campaign, tells me the effort will aim to raise in the “significant seven figures” to spend on just those four races (read more about the races right here). That could have a real impact, Bird says, because the average secretary of state candidate in such races spends an average of $500,000 total. The group’s board of directors has ties into the world of Obama and Clinton donors.
“The idea is that we need to flip the switch on this entire voting rights conversation, and go from defense on voter suppression, to offense on expanding access to voting,” Bird says of the effort, called iVote. “This isn’t a short term effort. We’ve got to be systematic. We’ve got to be dogged. We’ve got to be sure we’re out-organizing them.”

    Abso-fucking-lutely!
