When People of Color try to explain ‘White Privilege’ the majority society freaks out like you’ve accused them of infecting the world with the ebola virus. White Privilege is just a fact of life. Just like water is wet.
It is what it is and it is incumbent on those who greatly benefit from it to set about working for a more equal society.
Kudos to her for realizing that she greatly benefits in society by being born white and having that currency.

I also thought the abrupt resignation today of Fl. Rep. Trey Radel was interesting/suspicious. His cocaine bust has been known for some time, he’s been to rehab and back in session—–and swore he would never resign. CREW’s Melanie Sloan suspects the resignation was to halt any further investigation, which was in the works, which may have involved other members of Congress or staff.
I wondered why the abrupt resignation. Now it makes perfect sense.

Saw your question on the previous thread about Joy Reid on MSNBC at 2 pm Eastern time (hers will be a morning show on the west coast).
Interestingly, today MSNBC also announced Ronan Farrow at 1 pm, but for whatever reason, only 1 of 2 media journalists I follow even mentioned this development.
Had it been about a fellow WHITE MALE journalist (i.e., Ezra Klein) the media journalists would have been tweeting away. I guess Ronan Farrow is old news by now.
Some in TODville expressed concern about Joy Reid bashing the President in her new gig. I’m on BobFRs side, which is that Joy is one the sharpest pundits who really can weigh all sides of an argument without leaping to bash our President.
Not true for the MSM (DC echo-chamber media, whether print, radio, video or digital). More thoughts on this below.
Just galls me that Joy is not getting the recognition she deserves, since she is head and shoulders above Hayes and Wagner (who both act like they’re in the second grade).
