I’m thinking of forming a committee of pushed-aside first placers to discuss the feasibility of a class action suit against owners who preempt their loyal customers. What do you think?
😀 You probably shouldn’t have tried to disguise your voice – that trickery caught their attention. Funny, it’s not the first time someone has called 999 to complain about football. Was it you the first time too? You have got to remember a football loss is not an emergency!
I’m not going out there today unless it gets to be at lease -4.:) Haven’t started my car in a week. Friday maybe 28 with more snow. I’ll move it then. 🙂
Same here:) Very warm winter for us…I don’t like to talk about opening the windows in the house and wearing flip flops in January in front of the frozen masses. Makes them all grumpy.
*I* of course am not grinning at the thought of you paying later for your happiness that it’s currently perfect there, because *I* believe no one should suffer in this non-climate change era. /insert angel smilie here/

Seriously, Df, have a terrific Thursday with your ‘little ones’! 😀
Morning all. The photo reminds me of summer and outdoor fairs and no coats or freezing feet. It is now 5 degrees in my area and where there aren’t piles of snow there is ice on roads and sidewalks. To go for a walk is to challenge the weather dragon, but I’m sick of the indoors. Son is California can sit outdoors at a Starbucks and sip a latte. Maybe it’s time for a visit.
At what point does the person doing the listening take responsibility? There isn’t a motherfucker alive that can talk me out of not buying health insurance or make me believe that poor people don’t work hard. If you are a poor Republican and you go out and preach the bullshit that the rich Republicans tell you well then you deserve any and everything you get.
Good morning, TOD! It has warmed up to 12 degrees! Whoopie!!!! Due for snow showers this afternoon; of course, projected start time is while I’ll be in transit to a Dr. appt. Not happy about that…
From Political Wire: Wonder if they connect the dots to the Republican Trickle Down theory., as they should ?
A new Pew Research survey finds two-thirds of Americans see the gap between the rich and everyone else widening in the United States.
“Indeed, at a time when Republicans and Democrats disagree about almost everything, on this there is virtually no partisan gap: 61% of Republicans, 68% of Democrats and 67% of independents think economic inequality has been growing in the United States over the past decade.”
This is an interesting turn of events. Republican politicians have called the President’s mother disgraceful names, accused her of beastiality, called for the assassination of the President and his monkey children, and prayed that he would die. Not a single one of them resigned. Joshua Black is a stupid African American.
While stoking right-wing resentment over other people’s sex lives is a great way to sell the attacks on Obamacare to the masses, the real question is about whether employers have a right to discriminate if they claim to have religious reasons for doing so. Should employers be able to take away earned benefits from employees because they disapprove of the employee’s private decisions? Or does an employee’s right to religious liberty mean a boss can’t use compensation packages to try to force compliance with religious dictates?
The answer to the question is about way more than contraception. Indeed, there’s strong reason to believe that the battle over the contraception mandate is just part of a nascent conservative legal strategy to give business owners broad rights to discriminate against people—both customers and employees—on the basis of race, religion, sexual orientation, and gender. The right’s hope is to create a legal structure where business owners can cite religious objections to weasel out of a variety of legal obligations, from the obligation to pay employees what the law says they’re due to the obligation to treat all customers fairly. The attempt to sidestep a federal law stipulating that female employees get basic insurance benefits, including contraception, in exchange for the work they do is just part of this larger movement.
I think this is only partially right. When Obamacare passed in 2010, at least 28 states already had laws requiring insurers that covered prescription drugs to also provide coverage for any FDA-approved contraceptive. Catholic institutions readily provided contraceptives for their insured. In fact it has recently come out that Dolan, for all his bluster in NY, even covered abortions.
Here’s what I think it is: The 2008 census revealed that birth rate among whites had fallen below death rates, while Hispanics were increasing in number. Then Obama won….panic.
People weren’t listening and the media wasn’t reporting about remarks on the House and Senate floor about “replacement rates”. Population control has always been an issue. I really hate to promote my site, but if you haven’t read this, you need to:
The Birth Control War – Religion Has Nothing to do With It –
“Federal authorities in New Jersey have interviewed several witnesses who said the mayor of Hoboken told them in May about a state official’s threat to withhold hurricane recovery funds if the mayor did not support a development project favored by the governor… The statements by the witnesses, two of whom are aides to the mayor, Dawn Zimmer, support the account she gave to federal prosecutors on Sunday, and the interviews suggest that prosecutors and the Federal Bureau of Investigation have moved swiftly to investigate her accusations.”
😎
Grrr!
Hard luck VC, you were soooooooo close. Oh well.
Moooooooorning!

Mebbe god/goddess is trying hard to convince me that he/she exists?
Is it working yet?
Only if fedex wins.
You do realize that common theology suggests that god/goddess has the right to say ‘no’, I hope?
Who needs a god/ess that sez no? Got a wifey unit for that.
to burnish moral character. That’s different than the role of wifey’s ‘no’. Don’t you know nutting? 🙄
Good Morning Chips & Danny. Chilly -14 wind chill -35 no doggie out today. Puppy pads will have to do 😔

Goooooood mooooooooorning DF!
Nice pleasant 27 / 81 degrees now. Jus’ sayin’.
😦 😦 😦
You’re welcome to emigrate here. We never go below 20 / 68 in my part of the country.
Of course, there is that 46 / 115 too.
😦 Can we gang up on him in the alley, Roberta? When our fingertips are warm enough to get a firm hold on the baseball bat?
wimmin are mean.
practical. fair = (retaliate when attacked; or sometimes preemptively 😉 )
I’m with you, VC. Anyone who talks of warm weather while we’re all freezing, does so at their peril.
Great! United we stand and all that …..when we can remove our fingers from our armpits.

Morning, JG. It’ll get better, i.e. warmer, soon, I hope.
Same here:) Very warm winter for us…I don’t like to talk about opening the windows in the house and wearing flip flops in January in front of the frozen masses. Makes them all grumpy.
Who’s grumpy (I’ll remember this when you are tearing your clothes off in a little while), Desertf?
I’m either in the pool or in the air conditioning. Or napping. Because summer is disgusting here… 🙂

Time for a visit:) You might never go back until it’s springtime…..no kidding. Gorgeous out west!
Here we go with the stupid again! LW extremists that only think in their little circle and never look at the larger picture!

Let’s hope this doesn’t get gription…
Good morning everyone 🙂
GM TOD,
This comes as no surprise considering that they get a big dose of this on conservative talk radio and fox everyday.
If poor republicans think this way – they have a serious problem.
At what point does the person doing the listening take responsibility? There isn’t a motherfucker alive that can talk me out of not buying health insurance or make me believe that poor people don’t work hard. See what happens WHEN WE VOTE! VA is a perfect reminder of what can happen when people say, “Enough!” and GOTV.
