    Good Morning

Maybe Mika needs to look inward at herself and ask herself why she is a close personal friend of Bully Gov Christie….not question others who actually have to navigate political retaliation on the ground.

    Mika is naive.

      Good morning Linda,
      Happy Monday!

I caught the tail end of the jokester, and I heard Mika ranting that Mayor Zimmer caved and she would have never caved because it was two women involved. Steve K. told Mika that the Mayor did not cave because there is no tall tower standing in Hoboken. Mika went on and on, my question to Mika would be; how would you have stood up to Christie’s team when you can’t stand up to the jokester?

She was a piece of work in the few minutes that I saw her ranting.

That’s such an important point. I have always felt Mika was the epitome of someone selling out for praise and approval, money, whatever. Even her father came on and stood up to her “boss” Scarborough and she still didn’t take the hint. What a sad person she is.

I have never been a fan of Mika, way back when I used to try to watch Morning Joke I could not stand how she would sit there with her mouth closed just trying to be so dam pretty. That was one reason why I STOP watching the show, I couldn’t stand Joe, Mika, H. Ford, and M. Halperin.

      January 20, 2014 at 7:27 am

      Good evening 99ts,

      Happy Monday to you!

Lots of celebration in Florida for Dr. King. As I do each year, I will watch my favorite show of his legacy; Eyes on the Prize

A side note; jokester threw his colleagues under the bus by saying to the Morning Show host; yes, some people are gleeful about attacking Christie, but it’s not my show, everyone knows that we here love Christie.

She (Morning Show host) was reading the jokester the comments that were made by Christie’s team; MSNBC is basically doing Christie wrong. But the good old jokester defended himself immediately; my show loves Christie. I am sure he wanted to say; Ed, Hayes, Maddow, The Rev. and Matthews are gleeful but not me.

That is really what the problem is; love Christie and hate President Obama, way to go jokester.

Someone should take Robert Gibbs and throw him over the hill never to reappear. He attacks PBO every chance he gets.

    • 17 Cindy
      January 20, 2014 at 7:31 am

Precisely why I changed when they headed there 99ts.

I believe that Gibbs is harboring some ill feelings towards President Obama. He never defends him in the way that I believe he should have. The moment he appeared on the jokester, he starting agreeing with those morning clowns. I have come to despise Gibbs. I hope that Jay will stay with President Obama until the end of his term. The people leave and exploit for money.

        January 20, 2014 at 7:44 am

My guess is that in his search for quick money, Gibbs is setting his future with garbage instead of preserving his relationship with PBO which, in the longterm would be more sustainable both financially and morally

        • 19 theo67
          January 20, 2014 at 11:09 am

I totally agree with you. Gibbs’ future prospects would be far more lucrative if he aligned himself with President Obama, who works to do good, versus aligning himself with that hyenas who only live to destroy.

GM Cindy – enjoy MLK day

Gibbs is utterly inept on MSNBC

      • 21 Lovepolitics2008
        January 20, 2014 at 9:00 am

What makes people leave is not necessarily their quest for money. Working in the White House means extremely long hours and not seeing your kids enough. Many people in the president’s staff are young, and have young children. I too am disappointed when important staff people leave the team, but in many cases I understand. One person I was puzzled to see leave the team is Jon Favreau. He’s very fond of the president so no hard feelings there.

As for Jay, he has young children if I’m not mistaken so it’s possible he will not stay till the end of President Obama’s term. But I don’t see him adopting the same attitude as Gibbs. Jay looks like a generous soul, incapable of calculation. Gibbs has always been a traditional “politician” at heart, and he’s very comfortable in the Washington culture.

          January 20, 2014 at 1:07 pm

I thought Gibbs did not make a good press secretary. He was not quick on his feet. He stammered and did not explain things easily. I even wondered at the time he left if he was actually asked to leave?

    • January 20, 2014 at 7:49 am

Has anyone ever heard of a former WH press secretary undermining his former boss? It’s not done! So BOO on Gibbs.

    • 31 Cindy
      January 20, 2014 at 7:43 am

Christie is their main man but his own will eat him alive when, and if, he enters the primaries. The jokester made it clear how much “his show” loves Christie but the other MSNBC shows are gleeful about attacking poor Christie.

    • 33 jackiegrumbacher
      January 20, 2014 at 8:01 am

Global, this is typical distraction strategy. Christie and his people threw out a bright ball–MSNBC is the villain–and the media went right after it like retriever dogs who fetch anything their master throws at them. It’s the old trick of distraction and deception. Talk about the ball and the focus goes off the devastating accusation that the mayor made against Christie.

Good morning all and thanks Chips for the photo–the smile of the woman in the background mirrors exactly what we all felt in that “awww” moment. What a night that was!! Whatever frustrations people have from Christie defenders on tv, please remember that the wheels of justice don’t stop to consider pundit opinions. Mayor Zimmer has already spoken, under oath, to a US attorney so the wheels have been set in motion and all the Joes, Mikas and Bobs in the world can’t stop them. We live in a country of over 300 million people all of whom have busy lives and daily plans. The total viewership of MSNBC is less than one million and the great propagandist, FOX, reaches only two million. At this point, I would say that the Christie stench in NJ is getting fouler by the day, while the rest of the US is just starting to get a whiff. Fighting subpoenas and dealing with a devastating accusation from the mayor of Hoboken is not how Christie expected his coronation..um inauguration.. to go this week. So there is that. In the meantime, we are less than one month from nomination petitions for key offices and there are still many districts where Republicans don’t have congressional challenges. This is what really keeps me awake at night. The Kochs are pouring millions into their effort to rig the US Senate and Congress. We’ve get a whole lot of work to do.

AMK, President Obama and Mrs. O will also be HIGHLY PRIZED speakers and will be paid bundles to do so. Back in the early 90’s our trade group invited George HW Bush to speak at a convention and his fee was $85,000. He wasn’t that great a speaker and that was early 90’s $$s. Both POTUS and FLOTUS are among the most riveting speakers in the world and would only have to name their price, if that’s what they wanted to do.

          January 20, 2014 at 8:52 am

I 100 percent agree, AMK. I was only saying that the potential is there if money were their prime object, which it’s not. It would only be helpful if they became engaged in a social project on a national or worldwide scale that needed funding. Then I think they would go on the road to selective venues. It would never be for themselves.

      • 52 vcprezofan2
        January 20, 2014 at 9:20 am

I suspect/hope that if either one did the speaker’s circuit, it would be on issues that they feel strongly about, and it would ‘continue’ or move forward his legacy issues in some way. I don’t see either Obama speaking at anyone’s whim just for the money.

          January 20, 2014 at 10:19 am

Exactly. President Obama and his wife are civil servants, “missionaries” at heart. After many years immersed in the corrupt Washington culture, they haven’t lost their core values and are still putting people first. They have enormous integrity and honesty. They’re the real deal.

Not sure they have the contracts yet – wasn’t that the probable figure? If I had to make a guess I think PBO will end up in an “international” position – be it with the UN or one of the International Courts.

I just don’t think he wants to sit out the rest of his time lazing in the sun – then again – he could take up designing golf courses.

        January 20, 2014 at 8:55 am

99ts, he’s already said he wants to get involved in helping young people, particularly those who see no way out of their troubled circumstances. He said he would like to work on that on a national or international level Seems to me he’s talking about starting something–maybe a project he and Michelle share and can work on together. I don’t think he would want to tether himself to any already existing organization.

I really don’t have a clue Jackie – except that I doubt he’ll be in the bath painting pictures of his toes.

They are both such remarkable people, they could probably do anything they choose. I would love to see them working with children in the US – others have tended to help those in poorer nations – while at home there is still much poverty and lack of opportunity. When not constrained by congress, whatever they do will attract much positive attention – I doubt they will ever lose the fan base 🙂

    • January 20, 2014 at 8:09 am

Yeah, that was in Remnick’s New Yorker article. PBO’s literary agent Andrew Wylie predicted his memoir would make about $17 – $20 million. The First Lady is already working on hers.

I’ve noticed that there are no outright denials in any of the Christie group statements. All are pointing the finger at the messenger, the oldest trick in the book!
If the governor and lt. gov did anything the mayor testified to, that is misuse of federal funds, at least, and it looks to me like extortion. The wheels of justice are grinding, and all the yelling by joke scar will make no difference. They are trying to do the famous Republican inoculation jujitsu…..federal prosecutors are not impressed. I smell only fear on the part of Christie and his partisans.

    • 84 WilTal

Misunderstanding, I think not. Mayor Zimmer wrote down her words verbatim and interpreted it for exactly what they meant: if you don’t approve Rockefeller project, no Sandy Funds for your town. Plain and simple, Mayor Zimmer was was given an ultimatum.

Happy Monday and Happy Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!

If you are up for it; MSNBC just announced that the Lieutenant Governor is going to address the allegation during her Martin Luther King speech in the hour.

Please give the updates if you watch it, I am going for a walk in the beautiful fresh air that we have here in Florida today …..64 degrees and loving it.

Christie people are beating up on the Mayor because she sent out nice tweets about the Governor, and that her diary is nothing because it could have been written at “anytime.” In other words, the good Mayor Zimmer is lying, so says Christie’s goons.

Enjoy your walk, Cindy. I’m off to the gym today. We’re expecting a snow storm tonight, so it should get crazy in this area–lots of mass hysteria and rushes to the grocery store. Christie is on the offensive, so he will try to destroy anybody in his path. I hope Mayor Zimmer has strong emotional support in her life. She’s already testified under oath, so the die is cast.
