Bob Woodward just like the Grahams of WashPost wanted pres Obama to be kissing their feet. That is their main beef. Pres Obama is self assured and NOT a Needy Fellow.

That irks these people. Now imagine if Dems spoke up more against these baseless attacks? DC/NY pundits would be less over the top.

For those of us in solid blue districts/states that know their Rep will be voting in favor, you may want to contact the Republican leadership in the House of Representatives to ask them to extend UI.

The President deeply appreciates Bob Gates’ service as Secretary of Defense, and his lifetime of service to our country,” Hayden said in the statement. “As has always been the case, the President welcomes differences of view among his national security team, which broaden his options and enhance our policies. The President wishes Secretary Gates well as he recovers from his recent injury, and discusses his book….

PBO pats Gates on the head and sends him on his way..

The White House on Tuesday defended Vice President Joe Biden after former Defense Secretary Bob Gates criticized Biden’s views on foreign policy.

“The President disagrees with Secretary Gates’ assessment โ€“ from his leadership on the Balkans in the Senate, to his efforts to end the war in Iraq, Joe Biden has been one of the leading statesmen of his time, and has helped advance Americaโ€™s leadership in the world. President Obama relies on his good counsel every day,” National Security Council Spokesperson Caitlin Hayden said in a statement.

In his new book, Gates writes that the Vice President “has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”

Hayden said that Obama is grateful for Gates’ counsel as Defense Secretary, but that he welcomes a wide range of opinions form his cabinet.

That’s because Chuck Todd/Andrea Mitchell are allowed to set the whole political outlook there. I read that Phil Griffin is apolitical, from all who know him, a former sports guy, and he allows his “political director” Chuck Todd and long time reporter Mitchell to set the tone, write the political take on all daily occurrences.

The media will always lead with anything that appears to be anti PBO dotster. Many folks get their only news from the nightly news shows – and these are the folks that the media want to vote in political opinion polls.

There is much racism in the GOP attacks on the President – but the media as a whole is anti the Democratic party – and any of its Presidents because they (the media) are owned and controlled by Republican interests. It is very easy for a democrat leaning pundit to be fired for calling out republicans – it is near impossible for a republican pundit to be fired. Their hate speech and lies are legend – but they are never fired and they never apologize for what they say.

Can some math wizard (not me) total up the expenses and costs of the Republican House inaction. I’m serious as a heart attack. That figure should be included in every single solitary email, fax, FB, Tweet etc that is sent to these good for nothing POS. Let’s put our collective minds to work and find a nice round number and blast that number all over the place!

We can start with $24 BILLION for their govt shutdown. the wars that were all off the books and not paid for, the prescription drug benefits not paid for, the amount of money they think is fine and dandy as corporate welfare….let’s do this thing…and send them a fucking bill on behalf of the American people they DON’T work for!!

Stock market notches its best year since 1995
The Dow Jones industrial average is up 27% from its 2013 start, helping investors recoup the last of their losses from the Great Recession.

This is really good for those who have investments – including retired folks and those with retirement savings – it would be nice if they all understood that sharing some of this recovery with the unemployed is a really good idea.

There is little doubt that the US is leading the world economic recovery – but spreading that recovery to 100% is proving very difficult, given the current makeup of state governments and the GOP in congress.

My world decided to throw out the government that saw us through the recession without many of the horror stories from other places, and the new lot, following the GOP rules are now intent on giving us the recession we previously avoided! Our markets have recovered but are still well below the highs of 2007 – the only sector that seems to have passed that level is the banking sector – not surprising given the government guaranteed their deposits.

i’ve only read the washington post story someone linked here earlier, and one of the things that struck me was the over-the-top praise of hillary clinton, while at the same time being about 95% negative toward president obama and his incrediblly successful foreign policy. i often ask obama fans who also support hillary, why does that happen all the time – where insane peddlers of obama derangement syndrome praise hillary in the same breath? why does rupert murdoch hold fundraisers for hillary, which he has done multiple times?

i think any democrat needs to answer those questions for themselves before trying to force hillary and her husband upon us all once again. we need to move FORWARD, not backward.

We can expect to hear A LOT of LOUD squawking as this happens. PBO is taking Eisenhower’s warning seriously and acting on it. I said earlier that Gates really wanted to be CIC….. some SODs have a hard time realizing they serve at the President’s pleasure and truly want to set policy themselves, like Rumsfeld did. Yes amk and tien le…..Petraeus showed exactly why the president did not respect him after he learned what he is.
Am reading Dallas, 1963, and JFK had similar problems with his military, Curtis Lemay for one. I am SO glad the framers put the civilians in charge of the military. I remember how people screamed when Truman fired MacArthur…..he was right. MacArthur wanted to be emperor.

Thirty-four foreign jihadists have been singled out by rival Syrian rebels and killed, say UK-based activists.

It happened over the past three days in Jabal al-Zawiya, north-western Idlib province, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Meanwhile, activists in Aleppo city told the BBC militants from one of the same jihadi groups, ISIS, had summarily executed at least 50 captives.

A regional battle is pitting ISIS against an alliance of rival rebels.

A coalition of moderates and other Islamists fighting to depose President Bashar al-Assad is ranged against ISIS in several parts of northern Syria.

The al-Qaeda-linked ISIS – Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant – is accused by other rebel groups of undermining the struggle against the regime of President Assad, focusing on accumulating territory and imposing a rule of terror in the areas it controls.

Without TOD the world could be forgiven for thinking the US administration is run by republicans. This is the front page of TPM news – supposedly “liberal” in its political views

    Front news page on TPM

    1. Rand Paul on NSA spying
    2. White house – Gates is wrong about Biden
    3. US airforce Helicopter crash in England
    4. Cher – Twitter attack on Rep Trey Radel
    5. GOP PA Chair on retirement of GOP congressman
    6. GOP Memo re empathy to unemployed
    7. Sweden anti Marijuana minister
    8. Limbaugh
    9. GOP on jobless benefits
    10. Bob Gates on Hilary Clinton

The only article related to the administration references Gates/Biden – I guess an airforce helicopter crash might be counted
Even the articles which are negative to the GOP – give the people cited a place in the media.

    And page 2 is worse
