I say this every New Year and I never follow through because I get distracted or lazy but I swear, 2014 WILL be the year I kill you all.

GE UTA
Contrats Roberta.
Good Evening, Roberta!
Great job UT.
Very funny UT. Especially Phil Robertson.
Glad it made you laugh.
Great job.
Howdy!
Way to go, Roberta! And AlmaB, and CarolMae! 😀
Thanks VC. Have to go back & read your post. I agree with the going back to 2009. It all started then. 🙂
For sure – at least with PBO having the power from the people to lay out where he planned to take the country…and in a sense, the world.
Great memory post VC. Loved it!
TY. PBO and TOD have given me wonderful memories!
VC I was still reading your wonderful memories after taking a nap. Great job. You brought a whole new perspective to the year. Thanks. You’re 😎
It is currently -14°C / 6-8°F. Are you using 😎 because there’s no ‘cold’ smilie? 😀
No, I thought you were just cool as in “Chips with sunglasses”. Took time to watch movie with hubby after commenting. Sort of hit and run I guess. 😉
😀 Was just teasing you.
😉
Where are you that it’s only 6-8 F degrees and where did you get the little degrees sign? I want one! I went to sleep again and slept til 10:30am MST! I’m coming down with a New Year. . .
GE Almablanca & CarolMaeWY are you both ready for New Years? I am hibernating. Snow Snow Snow. Just nuts. And cold. I imagine WY is getting or has some of this crap we in MN are.
I am working the night shift. My best night will be the appearance of a baby at 0001 hrs.
I know I’m a day late, but please tell us about it when it happens, I mean when you get off. 😀
I’m more than halfway through season 5 of Breaking Bad and OMG!!!!!!!! for my Breaking Bad binge watching crew, season 5 is freaking AWESOME.
It totally blows away seasons 1 – 4 and those were amazing seasons.
The last 8 episodes of season 5 are jaw dropping gooooooooooooooooooooood.
Vince Gilligan is a writing beast and Bryan Cranston as Walter White aka Heisenberg just takes your breath away.
‘The last 8 episodes’ – Utal, how MANY episodes are in a season? And how long is each episode?
There are 5 seasons in total.
Season 1 has 7 episodes and season 2 – 4 have 13 episodes I believe.
Season 5 is the final episode of the series and has 16 episodes because they had to do justice to the brilliance that is Breaking Bad and boy oh boy did they do justice.
From the word “action!’ in season 5, the drama begins with a BOOM and doesn’t let up. You think it can’t get better but then you get to the last 8 episodes (the latter half of season 5) and your mind is blown away.
Okay, now you are terrifying me – an episode is only 30 minutes, right? There is no way I could try to check out Season 1 otherwise!
An episode is 43 minutes – 45 minutes long (if you’re watching on TV, it’s an hour long due to commercials). It’s a drama and it does justice to those minutes because if you’re watching on TV, you’re hooked in until a commercial break or until you remember that your body needs food and water. It’s that good.
Alright. I’m gradually trying to build my courage for this attempt, UTAL. Tell me truthfully, how long do I have before the BB discussions cannot be delayed any longer in the TODvillage – days, weeks, months? Or just hours?
Days. I’m on season 5 and will be done with the series tonight. Chips is on season 4, and Deserftlower has been watching with her daughter and will soon be done; and she wants a discussion on Breaking Bad. I’m excited about the discussion too because it’s one of the best written and acted shows on TV.
Days. Hmmmm. I might be able to get through Season 1 if I can cobble together some inner stamina. Okay, will see what’s possible, thanks.
I am in season 5, “blood money”. This show just grabs a hold and won’t let you go. 🙂
Now I’m in a dilemma. It’ll either grab a-hold and so I’ll feel normal, or it’ll think, ‘it doesn’t grab me so something is wrong
with me. 😀I am in for the discussion. Same rules as TOD I hope. By which I mean the silly as well as the profound.
For the first silly I wonder if anyone else has been struck by the purple thing Marie has going on. Her clothes, home decor, purple and more purple. Lavendar lilac grape , etc.
Yay! Welcome aboard the Breaking Bad Binge Watching Crew, Vicki.
The silly and the profound are very welcome in any discussion of Breaking Bad.
Marie’s obsession with purple and her “little problem” crack me up. It’s fascinating how the show uses minute and huge details to tell the story of a character and offer insights into his/her behavior.
No fair, Vicki, you can’t start yet as I haven’t yet watched the first episode. Utal was agreeing to give us (me really) a couple of days to at least check out episode 1, season 1.
OK vc. Mum’s the word.
This!!!!
Don’t tell anything that gives it away:) I’ll be watching more when my daughter, and OH! she just came in the door! More BB is on order:) Tell me we can all discuss this at length when we’ve all watched this entire thing…. 🙂 Enjoy the rest of them !!!
I most definitely won’t. I want you to enjoy it and be blown away as I have. 😀
When we’re done, we are sooooooo going to discuss Breaking Bad at length. It is a MUST. The series deserves it.
Brace yourself for season 5. Gird your loins! It is that G-O-O-D.
from Newsmax.com
“Americans named President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as the world’s most admired living man and woman in 2013, according to a Gallup poll released on Monday.
Obama topped the annual list for the sixth consecutive year, a typical ranking for a sitting U.S. president, the polling organization said.”
Hmm, doesn’t square with the talking heads on radio and T.V. I know we don’t believe a word they say anyway, but seems like they could raise their ratings by being more positive about our President.
First of all Gallup doesn’t impress anyone, second of all Sarah Palin is in the list of most admired women, and no disrespect to Hillary, but she would not be my number one choice.
Condi Rice was there also, so no Gallup doesn’t impress me at all. Beside I don’t need Gallup to tell me that I admire and respect our President.
Your selection of tweets is hysterical, UT! Blasphemous, of course, but how do we really know that God isn’t doing His own tweeting, so there’s that.
Thanks again, because we all can certainly use a laugh or two, any time of day. Especially a day with more s-n-o-w in it!
Glad you like them, Jacqueline. 😀

http://crooksandliars.com/2013/12/foxs-charles-payne-asks-why-arent-we
From this Monday’s Your World With Neil Cavuto, guest host Charles Payne was back at it again, doing what he loves best when he’s not bashing unions or attacking those living in poverty — carrying water for big business and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce — and carping about how terrible it would be if we were to raise the minimum wage to a living wage.
I have to say though, this might have been a new low even for him. Not only was Payne arguing against the wage hike, but he actually asked during a time of record income disparity if we should be paying those at the top more.
PAYNE: Isn’t this really the real argument we should be having? Why are we discussing minimum wage in a country that used to go for the brass ring? Why aren’t we growing the top so everyone, so the same tide lifts all ships?
God bless the people trapped in ice on the Antarctic expeditionary ship, since Christmas Eve. Believe I heard there may be helicopters coming in, if possible, but many crew members will stay with the ship.
… makes me feel really dumb to have complained about a little snow in my city, all afternoon.
Okay so I’m a stay at home non-sailing person, so tell me, JO’B, who in their right mind would CHOOSE to go on an Antarctic expeditionary trip?
Braver folks than you and I are, I’m guessing!
21st century explorers – taking the comforts of home on the voyage – I’m like you vc – the stay at home option suits.
My first post of a new day – Now I’m off to read your memorable moments – and Tally’s.
Good thing we aren’t all explorers. Sane souls are needed to help in the rescue of the explorers.
I have diaries of my ancestors coming here in 1833 – sailing ship lost it’s mast somewhere between Liverpool and Rio – they virtually had to paddle the boat into harbor at Rio and the immigrants/passengers had to chip in to help pay for a new one. In between times they also worried about pirates!
I’m preferring today’s options 🙂
Thank you for your 2013 (& earlier) moments – there are so many to choose from – it will take volumes to write the “History of 44”
Ah, but when it’s written so many of us will have had a personal piece of it! 😀
Happy belated birthday, 99ts. I hope you enjoyed your day.
Thank you sjt – in your world it is still my birthday – so I’m still celebrating, despite having to catch up with the chores 🙂

do i know you?
UT I was JUST going to ask you what episode you are on and then I see your comments upthread. OMG is right. It’s like that CRAZY until the VERY END. On AMC right now they are on Episode 11. I’m watching it again along with Blackhawks hockey. It still is almost too much for me to take but then again I’m able to watch it for details that I wasn’t aware of the first time.
I can’t wait for Chipsticks to see the final episode and the song they end it with. 🙂 Freaking PERFECT.
17 Dem fundraising emails so far today and it’s not even 7pm. OMG, make it stop.
Tomorrow is going to be worse.
I’ve gotten enough to last me “through the year,” too, that’s for sure.
I so agree. Especially when you have to delete them twice.
