UT, thank you. What a great way to celebrate 23 million. This is the place where truth rules every day. Thanks to Chips, UT and other blog bosses, we are better informed about issues, events and presidential actions than anybody outside the White House itself. I hope millions more turn off and tune out the msm and turn on and tune in TOD. Better yet, jump in and bring your wisdom to the table.

Congratz Chips and Co. on reaching 23 million. I’ve been lurking before you hit 4 million and I haven’t missed a day since! Don’t know what I’d do without the place. Thanks for everything!

AMC won holiday TV with a Breaking Bad season 1-5 marathon from today to December 31st.

I’m happily saying goodbye to sleep as I relive the glory days of Walter White aka Heisenberg. If you haven’t seen the show, you must, must, must get into it now or get it on Netflix or DVD or whatever. One of the best shows ever created. Bryan Cranston’s portrayal of Walter White is wow. Acting BEAST!

p.s. They’re also going to have a Walking Dead marathon. This is TV nirvana!

What a great set of tweets they really show what a horrible, no good, very bad year it has been, for the msm and Repubs. So thankful we have such wonderful people working in the White House and our great blog tyrants.

Congratulations Chips on the 23 million hits. You and the other BTs are fantastic. The service you provide to those of us
in search of the truth is invaluable. The humor is the best medicine. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

AMK, you may well be TOD’s neologist. You have a knack for coining phrases, spellings (“eggzackly”), and word usage that have become a part of the TOD community. 😀

  13. December 27, 2013 at 11:34 pm

Yes AMK, you did create the title ‘blog tyrant’, I clearly remember that…and boy did it stick! That was your term of endearment

for CHIPS and then it transferred to the other co-bloggers. Believe me you are a big part of the humor factor on this blog and combined

with Miss Chips you could both have a broadway show. 🙂 🙂 🙂 Thanks for the laughter.

  17. December 28, 2013 at 2:12 am

So I started here over 6 hours ago to catch up on just a couple of days. Dozens of links and hundreds of comments later, here I am to lay my many thanks at the TOD door. My life has been made so much richer b/c of this positive, loving and truth-telling place. I don’t *know* any of you, but, well, do you remember that old movie ‘Long-Time Companion’? I have come to consider you all my “blog-time companions” : ) Even though I’m primarily just a lurker, some of you with your individual voices and passions and humor are as real to me as some of my acquaintances. So thanks to you all for inspiring me, making me a better informed advocate for my president, and, of course most of all to Chips, for building this sanctuary and letting us all peacefully recharge under its roof.

Kathleen, you sound like such a wonderful person. I would love to have you be a full-time blog-time companion. You have good ideas to share and an obviously discerning mind. 2014 is going to be a year that challenges us all. Every voice must be heard.

*Gasp* I’m playing catch up. I had to take a nap because I was pooped. Congratulations, Ms. Chips for hitting 23 MILLION. I remember when we were looking forward to 1 million. Thanks to you and all of the fine people here at TOD this blog has truly blossomed. I read yesterday where someone suggested that after PBO leaves office, we have a TOD get together. I love the idea and would definitely be interested in meeting as many TODers as I can. I also saw the pics of Donna’s beautiful grand-daughters. They are precious. The pic of Danny and his cousin had me laughing out loud and my own dog looking at me like I was losing it. Linda’s WH visit was phenomenal! I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I may not comment very often, but I’m here often reading and enjoying the comments and other information. I want to thank Ms. Chips and all of the other TODers. You guys are wonderful, absolutely wonderful.

    Good Morning TODobots!
    ‘Morning, Utal!

These are great tweets to which we could attach a “2013 in Review” hashtag and tweet and retweet over the next two weeks – reintroduce each one that makes a major point into the end of year discussion. Seems extremely doable to me, particularly if we choose to respond to the media treachery.

    • 49 dotster3
      December 28, 2013 at 8:49 am

Yes, and speaking of “media treachery”, I may start carrying around a cream pie in case I ever run into Kristen Welker—-so I could shove it in her face. I am so out of patience with her very serious, sour, doom and gloom daily reporting on “Obama’s 2nd term”, as occurred on the Today Show again this a.m. This propaganda continued with Lester Holt asking John Harwood if PBO could ever recover from all the failures and loss of trustworthiness. Sickening once again—–an alternate universe in the media—-Russian style reporting.
And ——anyone know why we need a 10 minute report on The Royals every day on NBC? Are they trying to make us British subjects again? NBC/BBC a conglomerate? Some days longer report on The Royals than on anything happening here. Weirdy.

      • 50 vcprezofan2
        December 28, 2013 at 9:05 am

Hi there, Dotster! Is that a real cream pie? Don’t you *like* cream pie, or would you be using stale ones? 😀

Forget the pie; me, I’m all for ….. i) not watching the shows that irritate. I personally have no interest in ‘The (British) Royals’, since we have our own NA Royals who are doing an awesome job in their respective roles.

…………………………………………ii) sending them facts, just the facts, as little pieces of information. I do believe they can’t understand if they get too much info thrown at them.

………………………………………..iii) sharing facts with our contacts, like some of the tweets Utal, and Meta a few days ago, have been directing us to at the WH.Gov sites (ex: http://www.whitehouse.gov/issues/foreign-policy/iran-negotiations)

Good Morning, GCL! I have to fix breakfast soon, but I plan to get a few of those going before the day is over. I think it’s a far better way to answer the media’s garbage than to argue with them. IMO, by arguing we repeat/reinforce their negative message indirectly, and give it stronger legs. Like saying their negative focus is credible enough for us to argue with it. IMO, it’s mostly garbage, so we should ignore a direct response, BUT NOT IGNORE OPPORTUNITIES TO SEND THE TRUTH FLOATING OUT TO OUT CONTACT.

Examples of what I have in mind include

          thanks! will be on the look out;

wondering if the harshtag could also include POTUS’ name/title – sometimes it seems that this is the one sure way to get the attention that is due to an issue

          • 54 vcprezofan2
            December 28, 2013 at 11:39 am

You can fix the hashtag any way you think it will work,GCL. I haven’t really made a hashtag for this idea yet myself. All I want is for obots to deal in positive info and get *our* meme out there instead of constantly filling our eyes with the media refuse.

    thanks to the recommendation of many here on TOD, the ONLY reason I opened up a Twitter account was to support and defend President Obama and anyone on his team, and to advocate for his policies;

    just like during the Iraq War, the egotistical beltway media personalities lied to and manipulated a nation into one of the worst foreign policy disasters, again in 2013 we can see the media lies and propaganda being pushed 24/7 against PBO;

no doubt about it, correcting the media lies and promoting the true actions of PBO and Team Obama is extremely important in the quest to re-take the house and expand numbers in the Senate in 2014

Thank you so much Ms Chips and all the Blog Tyrants for a wonderful place of sanity and a refuge from a day of working with the likes of Duck Dynasty. This blog has meant so much to me. I am not a poster, but read several times a day. Bobfr, your tweets and comments have sent me to so many informative readings and I thank you. Utau, your tweets bring me the events that I can not bear to watch on TV. You are a wonder and I can only imagine a life full of great accomplishments ahead for you. Happy New Year to All.

Morning everyone…I was up for a good part of the night watching that Breaking Bad Marathon….omg….I’d never watched it before and it sucked me in! Big time:)….I didn’t make it to the last one at 6am or whatever time the last one was, but I watched WAY past my bedtime, that’s for sure! GREAT show. I’ll catch the parts I missed on Netflix…I’m going to be a zombie today…no, i’m not going to watch Walking Dead. I’m living that one this morning.

It doesn’t seem like I missed too much from the last time I checked in last night….everyone sleeping in today?? Rise and Shine:)

    • 58 utaustinliberal
      December 28, 2013 at 10:36 am

I stayed up until the last episode which ended at 4AM and told myself I was going to sleep in until 10:30AM so I would be ready for another 11AM – 4AM marathon session. I woke up at 6AM and couldn’t go back to sleep and I’m gearing up for 11AM.

Reliving the gloriously insane days of Walter White aka Heisenberg means happily saying goodbye to sleep until 2AM Tuesday.

It’s such a bloody brilliant show and it delightfully sucks one in to the madness and humor.

      • 59 desertflower
        December 28, 2013 at 10:40 am

It really was a great show! I just can’t function without my sleep:) I know I can watch on Netflix….If I got to zoom past those commercials, maybe that would be good. One way or the other, I’ll watch all the episodes…too good to miss, that’s for sure.

Yet I don’t want to gloss over the good things about libertarians. They are generally supportive of the gay community, completely behind marijuana legalization and are often against ill-considered foreign wars, but a few good ideas don’t make up for some spectacularly bad ones. Their saving grace is a complete lack of organizational ability, which is why they are always trying to take over the Republican Party, rather than create a party of their own.

    • 63 utaustinliberal
      December 28, 2013 at 11:53 am

      A very eye opening read.

From what I’ve observed, libertarians are people who 99.9% of the time, focus on pot legalization and are willing to overlook the racist, homophobic, selfish anti-middle and working class policies their brethren and leaders champion.

Morning to you, mtmarilyn! I thought I was here all by myself….talking to myself like I sometimes do:) You got it all together enough to have an Open House? Wow! Enjoy the festivities…hello to the family for me. Yes, I have another week off, as well….delightful!! My 33rd anniversary is the 2nd of Jan….where DID the time go? I tell my husband that the reason we’ve been married so long, is because I have such a damn good sense of humor:) I married someone that makes me laugh…what can I say. When we’re both old an he has to start my rocker for me….I’ll still be LMAO. Works for me!

Believe me a sense of humor is what you need in a marriage. Hope you do something nice to celebrate. I have been on and off this morning. I think it is low key for everyone. Our Open House is everyone brings something to share and BYOB. I have to clean anyway so this makes me get it done at lease once a year. Now off to the store. Will be in and out all day. Can’t stay away from here.

Waiting for the Breaking Bad marathon to continue and was just exposed to the torture Doster wrote about this morning. Kristin Welker’s year end report on President Obama has got to be the biggest load of BS I have ever seen.

She used the IRS and NSA issue to declare the year a failure for him. That’s it. No wonder a majority of Americans are ignorant about what occurs within their own government and tend to blame Congress instead of Republicans. There is no nuance, context and truth being provided.

Welker didn’t mention that over 2M people visited Healthcare.gov in one day, she didn’t mention the surging ObamaCare enrollment numbers, she didn’t mention the Iran deal, Syria destroying chemical weapons, unemployment going down, deficit halved, economy improving, President Obama preventing the Central African Republic (CAR) from becoming another Rwanda, President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder reforming draconian drug sentencing laws, the United States recovering faster than other industrialized economies after the recession, President Obama’s executive orders to curb gun violence, Immigration Reform passing in the Senate. I could go on and on and on.

Journalism professors must be rolling in their graves.

Her lies made me even more determined to continue fighting for a change at the local, state, and federal level in 2014.

Wendy Davis, Leticia Van de Putte, and Democrats? Here we come!

I work in semiconductor manufacturing. One of my longtime coworkers and dear friends at work is leaving. She originally got her start in manufacturing in Kentucky working for Jim Beam and she’s going back to it. She says that semiconductor manufacturing is too high stress for her. She will be missed.

It turns out she’s only a whiskey maker, I loved her still.

The article Why I fled Libertarianism is excellent. Cogent, coherent, well written, and filled with truth. Thanks for the link.

If you want some good movie viewing, I recommend Philomena. I saw it yesterday. It is excellent. Of course with the incomparable Judi Dench, one would expect it to be. But, it’s more than that. The story is gripping, and all the actors are excellent. I didn’t know what to expect, and I’m glad I didn’t. There are unexpected twists all the way through, but true to life. Do yourself a favor, see it. (It is a BBC movie)

The Media knows that Lying, distorting about POTUS, insulting and disrespecting the POTUS and his family are career boosters. The reason they do it. So long as the media is concentrated and are feeding 90% of the public with little precautions, Nothing will change no matter how loudly those on the left scream. The left is Hardly ever unified in demanding accountability.

Keith Olbermann and Donahue refused to balk…..they are no longer in the News Business. Asking questions got Soledad canned. Speaking the truth cost Bashir his job.

The media decided on Nov 6th 2012 to make sure that pres Obama was to be their story negatively. They got their wish for ACA roll-out made the buy-in possible. You Lied screamed in Aug/Sep 2009 by Wilson before congress was the beginning. Then Benghazi, Skeet shootings, IRS, NSA then to Politfact stating on Record Lie of the Year. The Media manipulates visually, with pen and radio. The Only way to stop the insanity is in 2014, VOTE as our Lives depend on it.

Hi Gail. The babies are doing very well. They are gaining weight and are absolutely adorable (eve if I must say so myself). They live 15 minutes from me so I visit them EVERYDAY!! I told my son and daughter in law to just kick me out when they get tired of me. So far I’ve been welcomed with open arms. 😆 It’s the best thing to happen to me since giving birth to my own twins 33 years ago. 🙂
