You know, you don’t have to wear the shades every time you are making a moral entrance. We still know it’s you up to your tricks even if *you* think we can’t the chicanery in the depths of your eyes.

Well, I liked the second nut you got – I hadn’t yet seen the young man in the Broadway performance. I always ♥ ♥ follow ups on good dancers. I’ve gone back a few times to see if I ever found anything on the ballroom dancing SA young couple, but was never lucky.

Late, but I have to give you credit for slipping quietly by me, while your buddy Dudette distracted me with a previously seen tap routine! She knows I’m a sucker for dance routines. 😛

BTW, Ms CHips, thank you for the close-up of the Xmas tree. Shows me more clearly how to tweak the positioning of the new ribbon I added this year. 😉 Seriously, this is my last year of this Xmas tree decorating thingy. I discovered last night that this stuff is really for the kiddies and I have no kiddies at home. At least none willing to help.

Good morning alll. This is the day the little princess comes to our house. I’ve wrapped, decorated, cooked and baked and now I’m ready for some major cuddle time! The beauty of grandchildren is that you can indulge them all day and then give them back to their parents to try to get to sleep at night. Love it!!! Looks like there are weather extremes across the country, although we’ve got bizarre spring temperatures in the 60’s for the day. Keep safe.

‘Save a hug or two for the grown-ups too.’

Please do, JG! 😀 I (still) can’t believe how I ceased to exist after the arrival of offspring. People, even family, seem to forget you when the little ones make their debut!

If Meet the Press got rid of that mouth piece for the GOP, David Gregory and put a fair and balance real journalists there, they would not have to get rid of MTP.

Ikaika Hussey—–who???—-from Reuters couldn’t report on PBO playing golf yesterday without relating it to his “bruising year”. And in reporting on his 4some—–Marvin Nicholson, Sam Kass and childhood friend, Bobby Titscomb—–had to once again identify the latter by his bad moment in time. All so predictable. And with Kass there, I’m guessing his fiancee’ Alex Wagner is lurking around there somewhere, hanging out.

What the media is doing is right out of the GOP playbook. This is the GOP bull shit, repeat a lie enough and people will believe it. POTUS didn’t have that bad of a year, but the media want us to believe it. That is why they fish up those fix polls of theirs.

…this brings to mind something my grandmother (I called her nana) told me when I was a teenager…she said the trick was to let my husband think he was in charge,,,hahahaha….sadly ,,I never really learned that trick…but yanno…between my grandparents …it was my grandfather (pop-pop) who allowed my grandmother to think she was in charge….

      a story…

When I was 14…I was overweight….my nana was always on my case about my weight…whew…it was hard sometimes…on this particular occasion that my nana was lecturing me…my pop-pop said…Dessie (my grandmother’s name is Odessa) leave the girl alone……to my great surprise 😯 …she stopped….you see my grandmother was quite opinionated and of a strong of will…(traits I inherited) I always thought that she ruled the nest…but that episode opened my eyes…..

they are both gone now…I do miss their counsel….

Ct. daughter was out running in shorts yesterday in 60 degree weather, Santa’s gift for kids of a 3 person toboggan—with steering!—-presently useless. But here in Ill-i-noise, it is a winter wonderland, snowing “to beat the band” (odd old saying). We are under a winter weather advisory with really stern warnings telling us to ‘stay inside! Do not leave your homes!’ Ok, but please clear out by tomorrow—–I have fam travelling. Grrrrrrrr. And my Fl. sister keeps emailing “beautiful here, bad up there?” Grrrrrrr. Sibling rivalry persists. 🙂

2013 seems to be an ill-fated year from Kenya. First the airport burnt down. Then the terrorists attack a popular mall. Today, a train crashes into homes in Nairobi. Hope 2014 turns things around.

A&E, the television network that airs the embattled “Duck Dynasty” reality show, “has produced more than a half dozen programs with the assistance of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office,” according to the Georgia county’s Sheriff Phil Miller. In retaliation against the network’s decision to suspend Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson for making a series of deeply offensive remarks, A&E will no longer receive such assistance from Miller.

“A&E has suspended Phil Robertson for talking about his conservative Christian beliefs,” Miller claimed on his Facebook page, adding that he believes this “punishment” to be “unreasonable.” Though A&E has historically been able to rely on Miller’s office for assistance, “[t]hey will not do any more with my assistance while I am sheriff. It is time for someone other than Hollywood and the news media to stand up for what is right!”

It is not entirely clear exactly what kind of “assistance” Miller has provided the television network in the past, or what services he is now pledging to deny them in the future. To the extent that Miller is refusing to provide government services to A&E because he disagrees with the network’s broadly tolerant views, however, denying government services to the network would violate the First Amendment. Unlike A&E, which is a private company lawfully entitled to suspend or fire someone because they find the person’s views repulsive, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is a government agency bound by the First Amendment’s ban on viewpoint discrimination.

More than half-way through and I like the tone of this report, because it recognizes that PBO has worked hard, hasn’t had a real break in ages and needs some uninterrupted R & R.

The next morning Obama, typically an early riser, got a late start, staying at the home until early afternoon, when he headed to the golf course at a nearby Marine Corps base. Joining Obama for the round of golf were Sam Kass, the White House chef; Marvin Nicholson, Obama’s trip director; and presidential friend Bobby Titcomb, the White House said.

Obama, in white golf shirt, hat and sunglasses, was all smiles as he drove past reporters accompanying him to the coastal golf course.

The president has no public events scheduled during his vacation, which is expected to last through Jan. 5. In previous years, frequent golf outings have accompanied trips to local restaurants and other island outings.

A few weeks of low-key rest and relaxation would be a welcome change of pace for Obama, who reflected on a high-stakes year of brinkmanship and health care woes as he packed his bags for Hawaii.

“The end of the year is always a good time to reflect and see what can you do better next year,” Obama said Friday. “I’m sure that I will have even better ideas after a couple days of sleep and sun.”

In Hawaii, Obama Tries for Uninterrupted Vacation – HONOLULU December 22, 2013 (AP) – By JOSH LEDERMAN Associated Press

President Barack Obama is starting his annual winter vacation in Hawaii on a quiet note — and hoping it stays that way.

The president and his wife, daughters and two dogs arrived late Friday and headed to a beachside home in the sleepy Honolulu suburb of Kailua.

Obama got a late start Saturday, and by early afternoon was golfing with friends.

The Obamas vacation every year in Hawaii, where Obama was born. This is the first year that last-minute wrangling in Congress didn’t prevent them from departing on schedule.

Major news events have disrupted the vacation in previous years. This time the Obamas are hoping for some uninterrupted rest and relaxation.

Obama did spend part of Saturday morning conferring with top advisers about the tense situation in South Sudan.
