So, a gazillion gazillion gazillion thank yous to the legend for all the wonderful posts yesterday – and for even posting my Early Bird Chat when I was AWOL.

You. Are. The. Best.

I think it was the media who had a bad year in 2013. People seemed to tune out their idiocy. The way the media has continued to attack this POTUS like none before, has because obvious and more and more people are ignoring the BS.

According to Nielsen data through Dec. 8, Fox News Channel averaged 1.774 million viewers in primetime (down 13% from 2012) and 297,000 adults 25-54 (down 30%). It was followed by MSNBC with 645,000 viewers and 203,000 adults 25-54 (down 29% in both); CNN with 578,000 (down 15%) and 187,000 adults 25-54 (down 16%); and HLN with 403,000 total viewer (up 21%) and 142,000 in the demo (up 27%).

The media AND their GOP friends had a terrible year this year. They set out to defeat the President with one “scandal” after another but only ended up doing the opposite. So now they’re trying to convince themselves that PBO has been defeated – this is just another version of “Romney is winning and Ohio will turn it around.”

Claire, those figures tell a clear story. People are tuning out. Most people don’t want constant negativity and most people are decent enough to give the president (they love and voted for) a chance without jumping on every little thing and blowing it out of proportion. The media this year gave up all subtlety and showed that they are simply “out to get the president” and that doesn’t play well. If you’re trying to convince someone of something, you don’t bludgeon them with a hatchet. And really, I don’t know anyone who finds a comparison between PBO and GWB credible in any way. It’s evil-spirited nonsense.

Had to laugh when I saw the AP headline today—–“Obama tries to put rosy spin on tough presidential year”. I knew that was the headline that was pre-determined with almost every reporter at the press conference asking over and over if he was sure he didn’t want to break down in sobs over his bad, very bad, horrible, very horrible year. PBO brushed the dirt off his shoulders brilliantly, as always, but that did not stop the next doofus from asking “But are you sure you don’t want to cry a little bit about your very tough year? We in the media have a lot invested in this outcome.”

Dotster, they are so obvious, they’ve become comical. PBO plays them like a violin and they don’t know it. The bar for insight and intelligence is set very, very low for the WHPC.

🙄 Just noticed that SOMEBODY climbed up onto the podium without any provocation at all, and with little merit! Bobfr, I know you caution not to let it bother me since I can’t control it, but heck, it’s simply wrong! An abuse of power, if you will. There should be a TOD law about this, is what I think. Just saying.

    And as soon as I wrote ‘just saying’, I thought of Jovie. Hi, Jovie, wherever you are, hope today will be a good day for you! {{Jovie}}

Morning, Chips, I like the happy look on the president’s and Michelle’s faces as they get off the plane and look forward to the days ahead. So very, very glad PBO didn’t have to stick around in the lonely White House this year, while his family took off. Did you get your shopping done for your brother in law? I seem to remember your running out at the last minute a year ago to get him–shaving lotion? Tomorrow is the BIG day in our house as grandbaby arrives in all her splendor (with mom and dad in tow). Can’t wait to cuddle and spoil her. The presents for her under the tree are twice as high as she is.

“The presents for her under the tree are twice as high as she is.”

I can concur with that – the presents under our tree look very similar 🙂 – have a wonderful day with your grandbabe – ours is coming with her Mom on Wednesday.

A US public relations executive has provoked a storm of online protest for writing a Twitter comment about Aids in Africa.

Justine Sacco, who works for the media company IAC, wrote: “Going to Africa. Hope I don’t get Aids. Just kidding. I’m white!”

Ms Sacco’s account has now been deleted.

IAC responded by saying the “outrageous, offensive comment” did not reflect the company’s views and values.

Morning everyone:) Cat was caterwalling outside my door this morning, because…??? I need to have a serious chat with them and let them know I’m on vacation now and DON’T NEED AN ALARM TO WAKE UP! Went from yowling to pawing at the door…WTH! Feed me! Feed me!
(Trust me, neither one is on the verge of withering away) So, here I am…bright and early:)

Great to see the family in Hawaii!! Something about just being there makes them look all relaxed….I’m so happy they are finally vacationing.

Kristen Welker is spinning so negatively on the Today Show—–every utterance is a Big Doom Declarative Sentence, saying PBO’s 2nd term agenda is in jeopardy, and other such nonsense. Her face had a lying expression, you would not have bought a used car from her. These people are on a perverted mission. They make me sick.

Chips, UT, can I suggest a post for the end of the year, please. Can you guys do one listing the many times reporters, pundits, villagers ended president Obama presidency? I.e., when Howard Finemann hair on fire tweet when Demoines Register endorsed Mitt or BP, or Joe Klein and how PBO stance on Syria had weakened the nation.

There could be one done on his Lucky ways, too.

That’s an EXCELLENT idea africa! Remember PBO’s presidency was declared over and ACA was declared DOA when Scott Brown won the special election in MA? Now ACA is law AND thriving, and who even knows (or cares) where Scott Brown is? We can all help to find articles to include – and there are MANY, many such instances. 🙂 🙂

I say if you want a review like that and can collect the info yourself – pics, video clips, etc etc – it’d make it easier for the BTs to grant your year-end wish.

I’ve surprise Duck Phil didn’t tell us that we were better off as a people when we were slaves. At least we had a job, were weren’t out on drugs, and killing each other, and we weren’t singing the blues.

I have a very small circle on Facebook since I do not like to scroll through people’s posts I barely know. That is probably an interesting comment since I come here every day and have never even met anyone here, but I feel I know you. I also need to feel surrounded by like minds with so much cruelty and out and out lies this President has had to face.
My AA daughter-in-law ( I am Native American/White) posted a comment pro the Duck Dynasty guy against firing him for his comments. My brother (longtime Ron Paul supporter) posted an article being predominantly in defense of the Duck guy. I expected that from my brother, but not my Obama supporting daughter-in-law. I figure she either did not hear the whole story or just relates it to being too harsh of a punishment for saying what you think. I understand that point of view, but think being in the public light and accepting these racist comments leads to violence and hate crimes. I guess we enter the fine line area.

Good Saturday Morning Chips and TOD.

I am so thankful that our First Family was able to all go to Hawaii together this year. I wish them good food, good weather, great company and a very Merry Christmas.

I had planned to spend this week (before the twins arrived) convincing my niece to sign up for ObamaCare. So I have my work cut-out for me today. She’s of that mindset that because she’s 24 she doesn’t “need” it. Sigh!!!!!

Thank you all again for all the well wishes. The babies could be home with their parents as early as tomorrow and I get to go to the WH for the Holiday Open House. I expect to have lots of pics for you all. Then on Christmas I’m hosting the entire DonnaDem clan of about 40. I rotate from exuberance to exhaustion every minute my eyes are open. 😆 One saving grace is this weekend our temperature here in the DC area will be in the 70’s.

p.s. I hate our media more today than yesterday. This is the one constant in my life 😉

ACA enrollments now over 5 million, 1.4 million of the enrollments are in the private market. BFD!!!
Apparently Steve Kornacki will be spending his entire 2 hours not even mentioning Obamacare.
On his list…..A long segment on Brian Schweitzer and now another long bit about GOP primaries.

This is the first and last time I will watch S.K.

At the top of this thread Jackie, amk, dotster, claire and hopefruit were all talking about cable news ### down. Well, no wonder. The biggest news in USA is that millions of people and families are getting their lives improved. By the Democratic President and his Administration.

Can’t have that emphasized. Oh No.
So the NYTimes article on front page is about a tiny sliver of folks who earn too much to get ACA subsidies. This is news, I guess. But seriously, NYT, this is the only ACA news in your view?

PROPAGANDA is lies of ommision as well as lies of commission.

Good morning, TODville. It’s the Saturday before Christmas! Happy shopping or cooking or baking or just hanging out watching old movies or sports. I’ll be trekking to the next block for cold remedies, having given up on all the natural stuff, which usually works just fine but not this time. Be safe out there, TODers, and stay away from all the germs floating around this season!
