    2. Sasha will soon overtake Malia in the height department. And her dad. And her mom.

Indeed, HF! When the front row media hyenas (aka the WHP) kept going on and on about the President’s polls and the people’s trust in him, I kept hoping that the President would quote the bible to them: “People who live in glass houses should not throw stones at their neighbors” Have these media hyenas looked at the polls about the public’s attitude towards the so called mainstream media? Millions of us have simply stopped watching and listening to their lies, propaganda and sensationalist crap that they promote as journalism. Some one needs to tell Ed Henry, Chuck Todd, Major Garrett, Jon Kyle and that AP woman whose name escapes me, that there are more Americans who trust and believe in the honesty and integrity of President Obama than they do the media in general, and the WHP in particular. Personally, I’ve seen kids in grade schools ask better and more meaningful questions to the President than these pompous members of the WHP!

“Personally, I’ve seen kids in grade schools ask better and more meaningful questions to the President than these pompous members of the WHP!”

          Ditto, nath!!!

        • December 21, 2013 at 9:44 am

We can no longer assume that the role of the WHPC is to ask questions that will inform the public about policy that affects their lives…from the very first press conference it has always been about trying to belittle and demean this President…to distort the truth…as time has gone ,,,they no longer hide their disdain for PBO…they have tried over and over to shame and embarrass him with GOTCHA questions that expose their disrespect for PBO/but as PBO has said in the past when he feels that you are not interacting with him in good faith…then he will crush you….

Such is the fate of the WHPC…

          YES HE WILL!

Fantastic photos UT!!! One senses that the two (very tall and growing) young ladies are totally clued to #NEWSTAINERS and give them zero recognition.

Congrats on 1st LL. Hope you are fully recovered, or close.

Sometime after midnight 23 Dec 2014 – and thence forward – #OBAMACARE news is going to be absolutely TOXIC for Republicans & corporate #NEWSTAINERS.

    • December 20, 2013 at 11:37 pm

Bob, thank God that a significant part of society does not tune into the beltway media napalm-of-negativity regarding President Obama. Faux-News is the communist propaganda station that it is and majority of the white population of the 13 Southern States will never agree with President Obama on anything even if it would save their lives.

Consequently, 24-27% of any poll dealing with anything about President Obama is an automatic negative. This is why the #Newstainers punditry and prognostication are always wrong. Media sponsored polls should never be trusted, because they use polls to create a predefined outcome in order to manufacture a news narrative.

even if it would save their lives…

Are they doomed…are we doomed…..how can we turn that around….FLOTUS appealed to the mothers and wives of America…to get their children and husbands to enroll in the ACA…

is there a way that we can appeal to the self interests of those folks….to indeed save their lives and then by extension…save our country….

can this be done….I wonder what PBO would say about this

Good evening all. Haven’t had a chance to visit today, missed all of PBO’s TV appearances… will have to view vids…

Would appreciate if you would sign & share the following petition. As part of the new budget deal, COLA for military retirements will be reduced by 1% starting FY2015. Currently all retiree COLAS (SSA, DOD, CivSvc) are the same; for FY2014. Starting in 2015, if the retiree COLA rate is set at say 2%, SSA & CivSvc would receive 2%, military retirees would only receive 1%. Once again plenty of $$$$ for the corporate donor class; crumbs for We The People.

        • December 21, 2013 at 2:38 am

Technologically, absolutely not, sailor. And, it’s something I’ve been advocating for more than a decade. And, I know how it can be done and done securely.

However, you, your physician of record and your insurance provider (I presume it’s the VA) need to concur on acceptable protocol.

          • 48 yardarm756
            December 21, 2013 at 1:07 pm

No VA here. I make too much money so their co-pay is too much to handle. Plus they didn’t believe I was in combat when I gave them proof. I’ll have to go to the U of Chgo where my PCP is.
I think I’ll get a drive and make a query. What size wld you req.? Cranial resection, menegioman, laminectomy, and other chronic ailments.

UT, I am with John all the way! I’ve not seen a single American who has lost his/her life because of a poorly functioning website that is now fixed. Not one! Instead, over 3 million people, who otherwise would have no health insurance, or would have crappy health insurance, are now covered by excellent health insurance under Obama Care. On top of that, there are senior citizens like me who are already benefitting from Obama Care because of free annual check ups and reduced prices on prescription medicine.

Been out with the hoards – got home to see the pictures of the 1st family going on vacation – seems the GOP couldn’t ruin it for them this year – in no small way thanks due to Sen Reid. I saw one of my nieces last weekend that I hadn’t seen for awhile – just turned 13 – taller than both her parents and her 20 year old sister – Sasha seems to be heading the same way.

The lady who arrived in SA says Twitter suspended her account & she has a new one – full of apologies – @JustineSacco6
Seems she may still have a job from the description – only supporters of the President get fired (for telling the truth)

    • 70 utaustinliberal
      December 21, 2013 at 2:15 am

The account seems to be a fake account. She tweeted that Kerry Washington sent her a private message forgiving her for her racist tweet but she isn’t following anyone on Twitter so, how did that happen? Then she followed Kerry Washington after saying Kerry DMed her.

      I call fake account.

      • 71 99ts
        December 21, 2013 at 2:28 am

I don’t think the new one is fake UT – There is nothing on it except apology after apology. I don’t know enough about twitter & Private Messages – could it have gone through on the old account? She may/maynot have a job – I have no idea.

What has happened here is one of the reasons I don’t do twitter – not that I would come out with a racist tweet – quite the opposite – but when I get angry I lash out and say things I later regret. Twitter is forever – and whether we do something in anger – or think it is funny – it is too late after the event.

She will recover – people are rarely held to account for racism – George Zimmerman proved that X 1000. I dream of the world that Martin Luther King spoke about – doubt it will happen in my lifetime – maybe the grandbabe will see it.

This twitterer was at the airport. https://twitter.com/Zac_R

        • December 21, 2013 at 3:05 pm

I am consciously choosing not to tweet also. I have stuck my foot in my mouth more than once (nothing horrible or racist) but saying something I forgot was private before I remembered. That gets harder as I get older.
I also learned not to respond to emails that angered me till getting the wording right. I saved a response to one of my adult kids as a draft I intended to go back to reread and reword. I had a computer problem my brother helped me with right after that and he sent all my drafts out before asking me. My son was so mad he did not talk to me for a couple of months even though I apologized profusely. There are advantages to snail mail since writing it out gives you time to think through what you really want to say.

“Gosh – anyone on TOD could have explained this without needing a research effort….”

99ts, you hit the nail on the head! Goes to show how TPM, another supposedly progressive blog, has not been paying attention to what is going on in many of these GOP controlled states that have sizable percentages of non-white voters that are likely to swing the elections. Unless I missed them, but there are no voter ID laws being pushed in states like Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska and Idaho where Republicans, because of the overwhelming white conservative majorities in those states, think that they are guaranteed to win.

      • December 21, 2013 at 10:00 am

I know it seems that any one should be able to see…but data helps dispel myths and reveal truths…the question then becomes…what will be done with the data…will it affect policy and laws

      • 93 nathkatun7
        December 21, 2013 at 5:31 am

Thanks Bob for sending that caring message to Sen. Reid. I have always admired Sen. Reid’s soft spoken, practical, but very principled determination to do the right thing. I hope he gets plenty of rest because he has to deal with some despicable people like Mitch McConnell and some bad faith emoprogs who have yet to learn that when you are faced with a divided government the only way forward is through compromises. When objective historians get around to writing history, I am absolutely certain that both President Obama, and Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, will be acknowledged for their impressive records of achievements, despite the irrational and vicious opposition from the tea publicans that they had to deal with. Sen. Reid may not be the most charismatic politician, but he is one of the most hard working and dependable member of Congress. I’ve always respected Sen. Reid because of his integrity. He also happens to be an astute master of what some of us view as the archaic U.S. Senate rules. But even more importantly for me, Sen Reid, along with Leader (Speaker) Nancy Pelosi, has been one of the most steadfast supporters of President Obama.
