Thanks, UT, for the tweets for those who missed it – and the lovely image of the President you chose for this post. Loved that big smile on his face, while he was standing before the Barnum and Bailey crowd at the presser. Freakers thought they were in the Coliseum, but he put them in their place. They were in HIS White House and HE is President of the United States. He’s used to speaking with world leaders, who call HIM, so I don’t think a bunch of college dropouts in the WHPC scare him one little bit. I’m still madddd about it, but I’m trying to calm myself as the President would advise!

So, Merry Christmas, WHPC – that blast of cool was yer little gift from the President.

Jacquelineoboomer, I had to go and pour a little wine in a glass just to look at it to calm myself down in a lighter space. Those clowns worked my nerves. One thing that kept me from screaming was the calmness of our President. Lord, have mercy on me.

I love your description of these jerks in grown men suits empty of common sense, let alone grown up and mature men. Jacquelineoboomer, I pray that I can get through another 3 years with this bunch of clowns. President Obama was so Zen. Lord, I thank you for this beautiful soul.

Okay, the hot buttered rum has made my tree look surprisingly better than it did before the hot buttered rum. Onward to hanging more ornaments!

Understand, I have a 9-foot tree and literally hundreds of ornaments. But it means ‘visiting’ those that we have lost during the years so it’s very special to me.

Glenn Thrush, non-partisan Politco—hahahaha—–was just “flabbergasted” about how boring the press conf. was and how “disengaged” Obama was. Come on! You can do better than that, Glenn! Surely there’s some despicable names you could call him. Thankfully, Capehart said that Thrush must have been watching something different than he watched—-thought the president’s energy was high and not “just anxious to get out of town” like Thrush said. Toure thought the same as I did—–all those questions about Obama’s bad, very bad, horrible, very horrible year were about trying to get him to break down in tears. Didn’t work—–in fact the opposite. Questions gave PBO an opportunity to display his depth, thoughtfulness and wealth of knowledge—once again——–in great contrast to those asking the questions.

Here’s a story that the press could report on…..but Duck Dynasty is all their disturbed minds can handle?

Nearly 700 Native American children in South Dakota are being removed from their homes every year, sometimes under questionable circumstances. An NPR News investigation has found that the state is largely failing to place them according to the law. The vast majority of native kids in foster care in South Dakota are in nonnative homes or group homes, according to an NPR analysis of state records.

Didn’t Newton McPherson Gingrich predict that He, Newton, was to be the GOP presidential Nominee? Hmm?

      December 20, 2013 at 3:47 pm

That’s hilarious. I can’t stop laughing. He also predicted this in 2011 ………..

Gingrich Tells ABC News: ‘I’m Going to Be The Nominee’

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA — A very confident New Gingrich asserted to ABC News Thursday afternoon that he will be the Republican presidential nominee.

“I’m going to be the nominee,” the former Speaker told ABC News. “It’s very hard not to look at the recent polls and think that the odds are very high I’m going to be the nominee.”
The bold assertion came after Gingrich refused to criticize the Republican challengers who have begun attacking him and his record.

Indeed! Poor “Newt the Grinch”; I guess he thinks because he memorized the dictionary his words are cogent.

I dragged this over from the last thread for cookemon

      Thanks cookemon;
It’s been a rough journey. At least I was able to clear up the lies being told. My family members, their friends, and neighbors during that time were amazed at how deep I was into the computer every time I got a chance and how happy I was daddy saw President Obama before he left this earth. I was relentless . I am/was so HAPPY my father got a chance to see President Obama after living through Jim Crow, WWII, and appreciate President Obama in the 9 decades of his life. No doubt daddy is laughing at how stupid the fools in this press conference are.

Oh Pluzzzee Chuck E. Toad needs to stop his lies. I had to roll the dvr back to make sure Chuck E. Toad said that PBO’s demeanor wasn’t happy. President Obama was not dreading the press conference as Chuck E. Toad thinks. If anything, it was Chuck E. Toad who dreaded not having the chance to push his BS. No, the President is not going to delay the mandate. Why would our President do that when a couple million people have signed up or take the benefits away from people who are enjoying the ACA?

Oh and I want to add…”Mele Kalikimaka” to Chips and all of TODville

CHART: Giving new meaning to ‘Do-Nothing’ Congress

    By Steve Benen

The historic metrics are rather striking: 2013 was the least productive for any Congress since clerks on the Hill started keeping track, and this Congress is on track to pass fewer laws than any modern Congress.

Indeed, it’s really not a close contest. The above chart is admittedly misleading since the 113th Congress is only half complete and I’m comparing it against two-year totals, but note that if lawmakers are as productive in 2014 as they’ve been in 2013, they’ll demolish the record for inaction. If lawmakers suddenly turn things around and double their efficacy – if, in other words, they show a 200% year-to-year increase in the number of bills passed into law – this will still be the last productive on record by a considerable margin.
It’ll be interesting to see how incumbents defend this record during the 2014 midterms.

    President Obama magnificent today.
In the face of 1,000 variations of “You lie!” PBO countered with his love and concern for his people.
Over and over again The President asserted that at the end of the process of ACA rollout millions of Americans will be getting the care they need and that is the purpose of his efforts and the only poll that matters.
WHPC cannot or will not understand that PBO in his own view and ours here is a GIANT WINNER.

President Obama’s press conference ran over long and because all stations (rightfully) covered it, it cut into 20 minutes of the 30 minutes+ of Steve Harvey’s interview.

It’d be cool if Harvey’s website or someone posted it. The little I caught when the press conference ended and NBC went back to programming, was so much fun.

OMG. Someone’s going to have a shock waiting for her racist ass when she arrives at her destination. She’s the head of PR for IAC. Her timeline includes rants about President Obama and people from other countries.

“This is an outrageous, offensive comment that does not reflect the views and values of IAC. Unfortunately, the employee in question is unreachable on an international flight, but this is a very serious matter and we are taking appropriate action.”

She’s been reading too much right-wing crap on the Internet and was trying to be funny/outrageous/cute at people’s expense. Certain GOPers in the US may be able to get away in the short-term with making unfunny racist jokes. But doing the same on the international stage about a country of people is an entirely different matter.

Justine Sacco Twitter Revolt: Fierce Blowback After AIDS-Africa Tweet Sent From IAC Exec’s Account

Sacco did not immediately respond to a request for comment, so at this point it’s unclear if she herself sent the tweet or someone else did.

Recent posts from her Twitter account suggest she has been traveling. On Thursday, she apparently castigated a “weird German dude” in first class who had body odor. Earlier on Friday, she tweeted that she was back in London among the “cucumber sandwiches” and “bad teeth.” The offensive AIDS was sent from London, according to the location icon. Depending on where in Africa Sacco is heading, she could be in the air for a while.

Most of the WHPC front row has effectively thrown in the towel on being nothing but GOP propagandists.

AP should be ashamed of itself by the opening question from Julie Pace.

Here’s a little history of bad 5th years of recent Presidents, starting back in the ancient time known as 2008:

    2005 / GWB
    Aug 29 – Hurricane Katrina
Oct 26 – Harriet Miers’ SCOTUS nomination withdrawn
Oct 27 – Scooter Libby indicted

    1973 / RMN
Oct 10 – VP Spiro Agnew resigns (indicted on tax evasion)
Oct 20 – Sat Night massacre
Nov 17 – “I am not a crook” RMN speech

    1968 / LBJ
Mar 31 – LBJ announces he will not seek re-election after Eugene McCarthy’s strong performance

Yeah, the year in which President Obama implements one of the landmark (if not THE landmark) programs in American history is MUCH WORSE than 1968, 1973 and 2005. (major snark)

    Please MSM, STFU.

This is a long 21-minute video, and I know Hopefruit and others consider Kornacki as much to blame as the rest of the beltway media, but check out the photo in the pic. The “worst year ever” is part of the lazy DC echo-chamber media who can’t rouse themselves to remember 8 years ago. (A separate graphic showed Politico’s take.)
