I certainly will Chips. Consider them our very own TOD twin mascots. I can’t wait to share with them about everything Obama! Their bedtime stories will be totally political but spoken in my soft, soothing grandmaish voice. 🙂

        • December 19, 2013 at 7:36 am

😆 Their first words will be ‘YES WE CAN!’

Donna they are super adorable and beautiful and also very healthy looking. You have been blessed by two little angels this Christmas and the season will always be extra, special wonderful for you and your family. I’ll bet you just want to cuddle them all the time and hate letting them go even for mom and dad. Grandmothers get the special treat of being able to spoil and indulge their grandchildren, while parents get to play the bad guys. It’s great!!!! Enjoy every single moment.

Thank you! Now I know Tamara is the little lady posing for her pictures, while Samaya is ‘taking it easy’. 😉

Lots and lots of BLESSINGS your way, Grandma D! I suspect I’ll now have to make an appointment when next I want to drop in to see you. 😀

So Tamara is the big sister? The one born first who can lord it over her “little sister” or is it reversed?

You’ve got it! My son, the girls father is a twin and he was born a couple of minutes before his twin brother but you would have thought it was a couple of years based on how he thought of himself a the older big brother. 😉

Okay, I’ve been trying to keep up and maybe I missed this. Will someone please tell me why that mealy-mouthed, backstabbing, sneaky, self-centered snake Max Baucus has been selected to be Ambassador to anywhere on earth? Maybe, it’s me, but I always thought him to be the original dino.

      December 19, 2013 at 7:39 am

It was probably best to send him as far away as possible. The only relatively sane Repub that might have had a teeny tiny chance at winning last year was Huntsman and if I recall correctly the WH sent him off to this job early on in his Presidency. 😛

So that Obama can get a better person at senate finance committee. kicking upwards the useless punks is a good tactic.

An Egyptian court has acquitted the two sons of former President Hosni Mubarak, and his last prime minister, Ahmed Shafiq, of charges of embezzlement.

Mr Shafiq, who has been living in the United Arab Emirates since losing the presidential election to Mohammed Morsi in 2012, was tried in absentia.

Gamal and Alaa Mubarak have been involved in a series of trials since their father’s fall from power.

All three men are still facing other corruption charges.

Ten other defendants were also cleared in Thursday’s verdicts in Cairo.

Eight Corporate Privacy Invaders That Know Way More About You Than the NSA

    By Bob Cesca

Throughout the month-long fracas surrounding the Edward Snowden leaks and the ensuing debate about the role and even the very existence of the NSA, there’s a massive elephant in the room, and it isn’t Glenn Greenwald’s rapidly inflating sense of self-importance. The thing that almost nobody is talking about or reacting to is the fact that private corporations possess much more of your private data than anything the NSA might have stored in its underground supervillain lair.

And if you weren’t aware of this already, you haven’t been paying attention.
The same corporations that have access to your most personal information can enjoy almost unlimited financial influence over the democratic process, according to Greenwald. And the U.S. government is a demonic, Fourth Amendment devouring, authoritarian colossus that’s actively trying to steal our very souls? Incredible.

Alycee–this is a fantastic idea. And so logical, you wonder why more states haven’t thought of it. Of course, the difficulty of finding apartments in New York City would be daunting, but they could try.

        December 19, 2013 at 8:21 am

It is! One of the things that really po’s me is the lack of creative, commonsense solutions to basic problems in our country.

        • December 19, 2013 at 2:23 pm

Great info. I think it works because when a person is out on the street, all their efforts are expended on sure survival: fighting off cold and the heat, worrying about exploitation and victimization, wondering if they can get something to eat. There’s no space to make plans for the future. You can’t safely save money for the next day, let alone a longer future because it can be stolen by the next hoodlum you run into. The paranoid living you must have if you are out on the street takes its toll due to stress. Can you really sleep deeply and restfully on a park bench, where you could be awakened by a cop, if you are lucky? And that does not include the fact that it’s hard, cold, and often dirty. Can you keep up with medications when you don’t even have a place to store them, and fear someone stealing them when you aren’t looking?

Politico Morning Money Breakfast with Valerie Jarrett
    Dec 18, 2013

Valerie Jarrett was interviewed by Ben White at Politico’s Morning Money Breakfast briefing. She outlined President Obama’s continuing agenda in his second term focusing on raising the minimum wage and energy, and she talked about her long friendship with President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. She also answered questions on extending federal unemployment benefits, President Obama’s relationship with business leaders and Republican members of Congress, and his presidential library.

NOTE: I thought the questions focused on negative unfounded memes about President Obama but Valerie handles herself with aplomb. She counters the negativity beautifully with facts. She just makes sense.
