I am not being callous …I feel deeply about the tragedy .. I feel deeply about what happened at Newtown to those beautiful children…but I have to say that children are killed each everyday on the streets of our cities…however there are no moments of silence for them….so when I join PBO in that moment of silence today I will be thinking of all the children what have been killed by gun violence in the past year ….

Thanks, JB! Beltway media cannot let themselves see clearly what we “normal” people can in our beloved First Family!

I’ve never seen anything like it, have you?

We must just go on enjoying our beloved First Family! I do believe we have to take down the beltway media, every opportunity, but we can’t let them steal our joy for long!

I’m moving away from the likes of Kantor right now!

Judith, your tweet was prefect! It spoke for all of us who are sick and tired of tabloid media masquerading as legitimate news outlets! Personally, I stopped watching both Network and the 24-7 cable news. I’ve also terminated my subscription to PBS, NPR, NYT and the Nation Magazine. I still, now and the buy our local papers, but I also cut off my subscription to SD-UT and the LA Times. I’ve had enough from the MSM propaganda and their obsession to destroying President Obama’s legacy! I simply refuse to contribute my meagre earned dollars to support their ODS!

The rampant gun craze in this country is mind-boggling stupid. I cannot believe an openly criminal organization, the NRA, is allowed to exist. They advocate guns for the sole purpose of mass killings of kids and adults whenever/wherever.

Night all. Going to bed early so I can attend a memorial service for a friend and then the Newton memorial in Salem. Be safe. Thanks for the RTs.

Almost 730a in Kyiv and the #euromaidan has rocked through the night and into another day of opposition to the criminal #PutinPuppet regime of Yanukovych.

and to think, the so-called “liberal” new york times pays jodi kantor hundreds of thousands of per year and nothing ever happens to her when she does stuff like this. her tweet fest today is so completely devoid of any intellectual ability that it’s a wonder she’s able to get herself out the door each day. and she just keeps getting allowed to spew her stupidity through the megaphone year after year without consequence.

it all makes sense though when you realize they are being paid to bring down democrats and liberals in the minds of voters. jodi kantor doesn not help sell papers or get clicks. for that matter, david gregory has driven “meet the press” to all-time lows in ratings, then gets a big raise and extension earlier this year. they are paid propagandists…not journalists. it all makes so much sense as long as you remember this truth.

    Good Evening/Morning TOD Family!

Had to work late tonight. Got home, turned on BBC World News and have been in and out of various states of conciousness.
I’m grateful to have awakened to see some of the Send Off Ceremony for Nelson Mandela currently taking place in Pretoria.

For some reason, on Thanksgiving morning my thoughts focused on the families of all the victims of the Sandy Hook massacre, as well as, of all those traumatized for life (the other school children, the families, the first responders, the hospital workers, ….).

In particular, I was imagining what it must be like to have awakened on Thanksgiving, 2013, as a parent, a brother, a sister …. of one of the victims. What would it be like for each of them to be thinking of their Thanksgiving a year ago, when all was still whole. Each day since, I’ve imagined what it would like for each of them as they approached inexorably the night before, and then awakening to the morning of 14 Dec 2012, to the last conversations, the last hugs and kisses, the last glimpse by a mom of her daughter, a brother of his sister ….

Of course, for victims of any of the other massacres, the random killings, the endless slaughter, their loved ones also awakened to that first Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas …. to that morning of the day that their loved one was killed.

Nothing will change until the collective consciousness of the vast majority of Americans refuses to treat gun violence, and the suffering of those who have lost loved ones, as a tolerable inconvenience, a momentary source of discomfort, a brief shedding of tears, lighting of candles, stirring speeches, while profiteering from slaughter continues unabated. Nothing will change until that majority votes only for State and Federal Legislators who will enact comprehensive, sensible gun laws.

I’m pragmatic and have repeatedly offered a strategy that begins with mandatory liability insurance for any manufacturer or seller of guns and ammo as well as for any owner or user of a gun, irrespective of the type of gun. To whatever extent I’m able, I will continue pushing it.

    Yes We Can

… time for some rest …

I see I’ve missed quite a few happenings today. I’m most intrigued bu all the gloriously funny JodiKantorThoughts tweets. 🙂

Will try to catch up sometime during the crazy-busy weekend that awaits me. A million things to do before I hop a plane to Phoenix on Monday.

In the meantime, I must share this beautiful song by the beautiful South African artist, Zahara, who’s voice coaxed me out of sleep as she peformed this song at the ceremony.

    A more than fitting tribute.

    Peace and many blessings!

Okay. I never in my life thought I’d repeat a remark by Perez Hilton (!), but I’ll definitely give this to him: re – Beyonce : she said, “If you’re not happy with the game, change it.” Thank you B for reminding us why we get back up again and again and again, while we watch the best POTUS and FLOTUS (I was going to say in our lifetime, but fuck that, e. v.e.r.) get up again and again x infinity to change. it.
I am so fking furious at this jkantor bullshit. With all the political fire they’ve had to fight for years, I would never have guessed that something as authentic as their love for each other and their girls would or could EVER be questioned. I just fucking give up. Oh shit… except that I can’t, b/c Barack and Michelle have taught me that I can’t.

Out this afternoon – 2 sister in laws and husbands 2 nieces and husbands each with 2 children, 1 nephew & wife with 2 children, 2 unmarried nieces, 1 daughter, 1 grandbabe – the noise level is still ringing in my ears. I love family but all at once is frightening.

🙂 – It was fun for a while – I ended up hiding out with one of the brother-in-laws who was almost insane about the noise – we chatted about our single days of times past.

Hope your day was good LDS – it seems jodikantorthoughts won the twitter
