President Obama at the Saban Forum

Forward to 9:15 for the discussion, it was brilliant

1:10 EST The President participates in a conversation with Saban Forum Chairman Haim Saban

Also streaming at White House Live and Brookings

On December 6-8, the Saban Center for Middle East Policy at Brookings is hosting its 10th annual Saban Forum, titled “Power Shifts: U.S.-Israel Relations in a Dynamic Middle East.” This year’s event features remarks by U.S. President Barack Obama, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, all of which are being webcast.

The 2013 Forum is examining the political changes taking place across the Middle East, including the resumption of the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks; the ongoing nuclear negotiations with Iran; and the deepening Syrian civil war and resulting humanitarian crisis. Forum speakers and participants discuss the implications of these events on U.S. interests in the region, U.S.-Israel relations and the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.

Repeal is the only way to end the Real Issue which is who is paying for ACA, not who is benefiting from the ACA, much less what the specific benefits are.

Good morning TODbots from freezing Montana. It is -3 with windchill at -15. The tough thing is that the University of Montana is playing in a FCS football playoff here in Missoula. The team we are playing is Coastal Carolina, from the coast. The boys coming from there haven’t been below 0 so they are really having to adjust. Our stadium will be almost full, it holds 26,000. I have been to several when it was this cold but didin’t want to this time. My husband and son will be there. It will be interesting to see how it all will come out. On problem is we don’t have snow on the ground so this freezing weather isn’t good for our plants. We’ll see how many of my flowers won’t survive this winter. Last winter we didn’t get below 0. This winter will be different

Now to go back and read all of the posts about the tree lighting. Haven’t been able to read it all yet. Those pictures of the tree lighting are so beautiful. We have such a photogenic, loving, generous First Family.

Had to bring this over. Hope all of you are warm today. I am feeling so great about our wonderful President and all that is happening. I really feel that the gathering for Mandela’s funeral is going to be world changing. His life was all about peace. It is now all going in the right direction. Now we just need to work in this next year to get back control of the House and keep control of the Senate and we can change the world. I believe in the people of the US. We can do.

    Have a great day everyone!

    http://www.mediaite.com/online/god-help-us-fox-news-columnist-calls-pope-francis-the-catholic-churchs-obama/

    Hmm?
Throughout the column, Shaw offers at least five more direct, unfavorable comparisons between Pope Francis and President Obama:

“Just like President Obama loved apologizing for America, Pope Francis likes to apologize for the Catholic Church.”
“Just like Obama thought he’d won over Putin by promising a reset, Francis thinks by talking vacuously about the poor, he will be respected.”
“Just as Obama snubs Britain and Israel, Pope Francis swipes at practicing Catholics.”
“Like Obama, Francis is unable to see the problems that are really endangering his people.”
“Like Obama he mistakes the faithful for the enemy, the enemy for his friend, condescension for respect, socialism for justice and capitalism for tyranny.”

    ////

These people have lost their minds.

In answer to if Americans know how lucky they are? I would answer that many do. Those that go in large crowds to see him speak. However, many are busy with their own lives only hearing and seeing news controlled by the corporations. The conservative message talking points is what they are hearing and in many ways believing.
I am so grateful I first heard Senator Barack Obama do the book tour on Oprah. I became inspired and involved at a time in my life where I was able to research and check on facts myself. He awakened me to my responsibility beyond voting. I feel he is a remarkable person that we have been lucky to have as our President. I am glad I am on the right side of history. The downside is not having the power to wake up those around me only listening to the news. Believe me I have tried and continue to work at it.

Inside of an Israeli forum President Obama tells the world that he respects the history and culture of the Iranian people and they he has enough respect for them that he along with the world community will help Iran solve its most pressing issues.

Just finished filling out a survey on you.gov. Since I found out they are a Republican backed organization, I make sure I do this. This is not a random poll, it is self-selected, and their basic demographic is mine….white, senior citizen.
I made sure to say the Republicans in Congress are responsible for the problems, and give high approval ratings to President Obama. I also got to select Nancy Pelosi as the outstanding Speaker in the last forty years…..NOT Tip O’Neill…..in spite of Tweety.
I now know when this poll is quoted, it is not a true poll, but a self-selected survey, with little validity.
