Good Morning Chipsticks, Roberta, Carly, …TOD Early Birds!
I’ve been following the “Danny and the Chicken Saga”.
How long did the chicken last before the beheading and subsequent decapitation? If it was more than a few hours then that was an accomplishment…for the chicken.
There was a point that we hoped the toys that we gave our dog (then puppy???) lasted at least through the first hour. Then we started buying “Tuffy” toys. It at least gave the toy a fighting chance. http://www.dogtuff.com/tuffy-dog-toys.html
Did I miss something in the last threads? I have been away and tough to get caught up. What’s that Danny Boy gotten into now? T R O U B L E? or just Puppy stuff.
That poor chicken. Just hysterical. The only things we used to get for Clara & Kaydee are thick rope toys, even the tennis balls they would crush until they figured out they were just to fetch not chew. Try one of the Bongs where yo put the treat inside and they have to work getting it out, they are pretty when they are working at that. I am still chuckling. You really do have one Happy Puppy huh?
I have a very happy puppy Roberta, but a deeply unhappy rubber chicken.
He has already removed three tennis balls from ropes, and just barks at toys with treats inside before doing that crazy running in circles thing. We’ve now moved on to his “virtually indestructible” large ball, will post photos of its remains later today.
Good morning Chips. I can’t stop laughing at that chicken. The only toy my JR couldn’t destroy was a rubber tire I got him at PetSmart. He worked on that for hours and it’s still in tact. I will always keep it and think of him carrying it everywhere.
Never having a beast Danny’s size my experience is probably not germaine. But we have much better luck with soft toys than rubber toys in our house.
We have single-handedly kept the dog toy industry in business. Bags and bags and baskets and baskets of toys. If you want to know the secret to Nacza lines, they are made by dogs: Kasper and Nickelby spend much of the day arranging the toys in various configurations. there’s some message there, I’m sure. It’s downright eerie.
Pearl’s interest in toys is to take one away from Kasper and get him to chase her. Don’t even say it, amk – ‘typical female’.
Very busy, my dogs are.
Even at that their small size, they will decimate a rubber toy in minutes, but the soft toys last much, much longer. Be sure to get dog-specific toys so Danny doesn’t rip off eyes or ears, thinking they’re dinner.
Got cha Chips. 🙂 Just watching yesterdays WH Briefing, I tell those idjits are like dogs with a bone, chew, chew, chew never satisfied with the answer they get. I wanted to throw something at The whole front row, they were just so damned nasty. That said. Hope you have a great day and say hi to Danny boy from a fan of his. 🙂
I predict they’ll be even worse if/when ObamaCare turns out better than expected.
For some odd reason, they have it real bad for Pres. Obama. They want him to fail so badly – just like the GOP.
I think a lot of it has to do, he goes around them to get the news to the people, and he kind of put them in there place several times on not doing their jobs, instead of being just entertainers. But, they all work for RW Corporations and they all have walking and talking points daily to keep their jobs. I don’t have cable anymore and only watch what parts you guys recommend. Keeps my sanity.
TD, It’s more than my stomach can bear to “peek in” there unless somebody here recommends some extraordinary lucid exception to their usual crap. They seem to be hurting for money, so maybe their decision to go full on anti-Obama is having an effect.
Hey Swbluega. I will try. Unfortunately I am nursing my wounds from a pulled tooth yesterday and so taking day off from work. I hope I will be able to keep my eyes open enough. Pain killers knocks me out. Hope you have a great day!!
Among the GOP’s myriad criticisms of the Affordable Care Act, one of the loudest has centered around the law’s price tag. But it turns out Obamacare won’t be as costly as expected.
The New York Times reported Tuesday that “the government is expected to spend billions of dollars less than originally projected on the law.”
The adjusted estimate is a result of the law’s Medicaid expansion and the subsidies for private insurance plans proving less costly than initially anticipated. According to the Times, economists say that the law has also benefitted from a weak economy over the last half-decade, during which time health spending has slowed dramatically.
Df, that will mean there will be a lot of GOP scrambling to come up with a new bitching point. They’ll never stop, just as they’ve never stopped beating on Social Security and Medicare. They are the party of obstruction and destruction, after all. Anything that actually helps the American people is anathema to them.
The U.S. consumer financial watchdog will soon start supervising the seven largest student loan servicers to ensure they treat borrowers fairly and comply with federal consumer laws, the agency said on Tuesday.
Reuters
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has taken a broad interest in the burden of student loan debt, which it says now totals $1.2 trillion and saddles many borrowers with debt that takes years to repay.
More than 40 million borrowers with non-bank student loan debt depend on companies that manage borrowers’ accounts and process payments.
The agency said it has found a concerning resemblance of problems encountered by student loan borrowers dealing with servicers and those faced by homeowners dealing with mortgage servicers.
Student loan borrowers have complained about being charged late fees as a result of processing mistakes by the servicers, lost paperwork and poor communication.
“Student loan borrowers should be able to rest assured that when they make a payment toward their loans, the company that takes their money is playing by the rules,” said CFPB Director Richard Cordray.
I am so very, very glad that this bureau is on the job. It is one of the first things a Republican president would destroy because the very last thing they want is consumers being treated fairly and financial institutions being constrained from doing anything they want to hurt people.
Well, Africa, they’re not dead enough until we get back the House, keep the Senate and get those rotten Republican governors out of the states. We’ve got work to do.
I sure hope so. They will have to. They were eager to report bad news. We will have to keep calling them out on twitter and using ally blogs like Media Matters, PlumLine, etc. to push their peers. I have noticed that when we keep pushing, these folks tend to pick up and push alongside with us.
When PBO gets out there talking about it, we get out there pushing it hard, too.
“The first event is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, but it is just the first wave in a tsunami of information the Obama administration plans to unleash.”
I heard that this morning and I’m glad to see they are going on the offense now. I heard that not only will POTUS be speaking, but so will Democrats. We can’t let the media and Republicans continue to lie about Obamacare, without sharing some good info concerning Obamacare.
Yep. All of us have to do our part. The media, left alone, is GOP mouth piece. Democrats better be out there talking about Obamacare. They all need to take a cue from the governor of Kentucky.
I hope the Dems are getting the message that when you don’t stand with our President, we don’t stand with them. I have had several opportunities to tell fundraisers that and clearly they had heard that message prior to my call and emails. I hope it continues because I intend to hammer them with that message every time they bash our President.
Couldn’t agree more that Democrats must be on offense WITH PBO in defending and promoting the ACA. I think all of our quiet work in talking 1:1 with our friends and families is still the most effective tactic. Letters to the editor might help, too.
Hello early birds – had one of those fab afternoons with daughter and grandbabe – nothing more important than running around the park, drinking juice and laughing at the world. I’m exhausted, babe has energy I have long forgotten about. 🙂
What a joy! I am so happy for you, daughter and babe. Sounds like you guys brought joy to the park, that’s what it is all about.
Cherish these moments and hold them dear to your heart.
It is a joy to see the world through a granddaughter’s eyes LDS – also a reminder to look after our world – it will soon be theirs. Hope your day has been a good one
113th Congress, going down in history for its inaction, has a critical December to-do list
By Paul Kane
—————————————–
The good news for Congress as it heads into the final workdays of the year is that, for the first time in five years, there are no edge-of-the-cliff December crises threatening to bring the country to its knees.
The bad news is that whatever gets done in December will still be part of a year with record-low congressional accomplishment.
I want to share a post here on something fantastic that my sister, who works in the pediatric hematology department at Walter Reed is doing for a young boy battling some kind of cancer. Just want to make sure it is OK before I post. Let me know when you get to it. I won’t be offended if it is not.
Good morning, Ms. Chips. That chicken looks like how GOP must feel after undermining our President…..again.
I have no words for their donothingCongress attitude while getting paid a paycheck. Thank you for all you and everyone else who works so hard to give us this gift to come here. This is truly Give Back Tuesday. I am on my way to do what myself and others do every Tues. that is give away clothes, books, shoes, hugs and smiles to whosoever needs them. It is such a good feeling to be able to help others.
Thank you, Ms. Dudette for the long version of D. Hathaway’s “This Christmas”. That song always makes me feel so many different feelings at once……so many good memories despite of what is going on around me. Thank you.
#Yes We Can
Since the media likes controversy so much, did any of them say anything about the Fast4Families attempt to meet with Boehner? I bet if they did they’d try to spin it to something negative about the President.
The poll itself makes no sense. People will disapprove of someone doing something to fix a broken healthcare system versus disapproving about a dysfunctional GOP who is doing nothing except trying to sabotage efforts to improve the system?!?!?!? Really?!?!?!?
First
Mooooooooorning Roberta, mooooooorning everyone!
GM Chips. Did you let me in the door first today? Thank you/ 🙂 🙂 🙂

He murdered his rubber chicken Roberta, it’s now in the trash and he is rubber-chicken-less:

Wow Chips! Danny masqueraded that poor rubber chicken. I can only imagine what your furniture looks like. 😯
You don’t want to know Donna! 😥

I peeked in at DKos today.:roll
Why do I punish myself like that?
You have more stomach than I have. Haven’t been on that site since they when emo on our President.
TD, It’s more than my stomach can bear to “peek in” there unless somebody here recommends some extraordinary lucid exception to their usual crap. They seem to be hurting for money, so maybe their decision to go full on anti-Obama is having an effect.
Indeed, Jackie. Truer words never spoken!!
I go there occasionally. I even find some sane diaries here and there. But my chances are not good.
Good morning Chips, Roberta, Carly, Swbluega!
Happy Tuesday TODers!
Same to you africa, and all the rest on your list.
Good Morning Africa!
Enjoy your day!
Hey Swbluega. I will try. Unfortunately I am nursing my wounds from a pulled tooth yesterday and so taking day off from work. I hope I will be able to keep my eyes open enough. Pain killers knocks me out. Hope you have a great day!!
I hope you have a quick recovery and that the pain killers will not be necessary (at least not so much). Feel better soon.
Rest is what you need. Take it easy, africa.
(((((((((((( Loving healing hugs, afrca.)))))))))))))). I am just starting my reading for today. HZ

Good Morning Chips and all of TOD!
Have a great Tuesday and in the spirit of the Holiday Season I leave you with this beautiful rendition of The Little Drummer Boy to start your day.
I want late night threads form here onwards to be called as ‘amk chatting to himself’ .

Good morning amk!!!
Morning donna. Long time no see.
Work and personal life has gotten in the way but I’m here with a roar now 😉
work and personal life 😯 😯 😯
dunnowhatchertalkingabout.
Ha!!!!
😆 Were you all alone? Okay, we will name them that from this day forth!
I am the only one awake while the rest of you zzz away.
Yeah but, you spend half of your average TOD day snoring – and we can actually hear you, it’s most off-putting.
Between you and Dudette, that is pretty much what’s going on. But you guys also posts a lot of great information during your ‘soliloquies’.
Most of the time I am like this.
😆

G’morning Chips and TOD! Happy Tuesday 🙂
Media’s latest weapon now that the ACA website is working: MANUFACTURED POLLING
The poll itself makes no sense. People will disapprove of someone doing something to fix a broken healthcare system versus disapproving about a dysfunctional GOP who is doing nothing except trying to sabotage efforts to improve the system?!?!?!? Really?!?!?!?
The same CBS that ran with the Benghazi lie and we are supposed to believe their polls? REALLY?
This HAS to be BS! Are you kidding me????
http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/poll-young-people-least-familiar-with-obamacare
WHY?!?!?
OMG.
I think Tweety has been upset because has not given him the time of day…so maybe this interview will settle him down. He is so excited!!!
Apparently the mere thought of this interview is giving him the tingles. From what I’m reading on my TL.
Rise and Shine.

The President’s fist bump with the worker is one of my all-time favorites!
