President Obama listens to hunger striker Eliseo Medina as he and the First Lady visit with immigration protesters in their tent on the Washingon Mall November 29. Since November 12, immigration advocates comprising “Fast for Families” have abstained from food as they call on congress to take up action on the immigration issue.

Earlier today:

First Lady Michelle Obama, Malia, Sasha, Bo and Sunny arrive to receive the White House Christmas tree. The tree is 18.5 feet tall and is set to be on display in the Blue Room. It was presented by Christopher Botek and Kyra Yurko of the Christmas Spring Tree Farm in Leighton, Pennsylvania and John and Leslie Wyckoff of the Wyckoff’s Christmas Tree Farm in Belvidere, New Jersey

Those shoes! OMG, they are the bomb, they will sell out before the weekend.

  3. November 29, 2013 at 1:10 pm

Congrats on 1st, Don. BTW, they’ve already sold out – this is the age of the intertubes, my friend πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Haven’t heard any of the laddies comment on a rather interesting bit of coordination in #FashPlate Sasha’s complete look, yet πŸ˜‰ …. 5,4,3,2,1 …

On a more serious note, pile on Jeb – he deserves it ….

And, please pile on Omidyar, Greenwald & Poitras – my hope is that a Grand Jury already has them under a sealed indictment …

Thanks again, Chips, for a very fine R&S and especially for the pictures of the President & First Lady in solidarity with @fast4families!

I mean really, the most powerful man on the face of the earth and his wife are out talking to hunger-strikers about immigration on the day after Thanksgiving. No pretense, no posturing, just face to face with the hunger strikers. Even though Immigration reform hasn’t become law, it still shows the compassion and sense of fairness that this President possesses. Most politicians would have avoided the hunger-strikers, but no, President Obama meets them head on and on their turf.

The kindness that the President and First Lady have extended to countless persons – throughout the world – during the past 5 years is, in my opinion, their greatness. No American President & First Lady have ever given such unbounded love to so many.

Loving Sasha’s color coordination with the outfit, nail polish, and shoes.

      GA GGail and TODers.

      Love Natasha’s Shoes.

Some of Those crashing the websites and praising her shoes better Not turn on her…..for some of these people on Twitter would turn ugly. They would ignore that Sasha Obama is only a Child. She is only 12 yrs of age, born June 10 2001.

        Good afternoon Nena.
There are more of us who love Sasha than those evil-doers. Would crush them if they turned mean on Twitter – of that I have no doubt. If the shoe site crashes, it will be from so many people going to it to view those awesome shoes. It is Sasha’s stockings that’s providing the shoe’s two-tone look. Very clever built shoe. And quite cute. I would purchase and wear them!

I know that TOD and many Good people will go anywhere to defend the Obamas.

I am worried about the MSM in the Era of pres Obama. These people have turned everything political so long as their profit margins and so long as they are attacking POTUS 24/7.

I didn’t know they were constructed without the so called middle portion of the shoe until I visited the website, they are awesome. Though I’m not a fashionista, I’ve been known to think outside the box when it came to shoes.

I am in awe of the shoes. I too didn’t realize that they had cutouts until I visited the site. I love them too because I’m 63 and they remind of the 70s. And I loved the way she put that whole look together. Very creative – classic with a touch of flash. Perfect!
What trulu touched my heart was the President and First Lady meeting the I-hunger strikers. My MLK project for 2014 will be to support local immigration activists in Nevada. I will start attending meetings in December. We need to get this done and we need to pressure the white sheet repubs in the House until we get it done.

  12. November 29, 2013 at 1:45 pm

It’s interesting how Sasha leads everyone out of the White House and then takes the lead when they return … I sense a lot of energy in her person. She will be a force.

My oldest granddaughter turned eleven the first part of August. Not sure if Sasha is now twelve or eleven. I used to know the difference in her age and my granddaughter’s. Sasha has really thinned down this last year looking more like a teenager than previously. My granddaughter has grown taller and looks older caring about her looks, and fashion too.
I really respect the Obama’s willingness to stay in DC until Sasha finishes high school as that is such an important time in a kid’s life. He will probably start writing a book about his time in office about then.

Good morning fellow TODbots. I am moving very slowly this morning. So great to be at home for a slow day. Started reading our local paper and there is an article about democrats backing away from Obama. I couldn’t even read it I was so mad. The media is really trying to bring down the Dems and Obama. I had to come here and read the real news.

One thing I am looking forward too is next the The Sound of Music presented live on NBC. Just watched a program about it. I have to say that is still one of my most favorite movies. I know all the songs.

I have am not confrontational and so many of them won’t even listen to facts. I am still figuring out how I will work this next year. It is so important both our Senator and Representative race. Haven’t figured out who to support yet. Still waiting for all to enter who want to. I know that I will do all I can to defeat the Repubs.

Russell Brand really, really doesn’t like Rupert Murdoch and Murdoch’s newspapers.

The actor tore into Murdoch and his media empire in a Guardian piece on Friday. The impetus was a Sun on Sunday story earlier this month that claimed Brand cheated on his girlfriend Jemima Khan.

“The pain, disruption and distress, that the Sun inflicted by falsely claiming that I cheated on my girlfriend, in the context of such awesome corruption, is a pale liver-spot on the back of Murdoch’s glabrous claw,” Brand wrote on Friday.

I hope the upset young man who shouted at The President last week sees the photos of PBO and FLMO in the tent the day after Thanksgiving. PBO spoke compassionately to him and reassured him that Immigration was at the top of the to-do list but these pix tell the story in another way.

Agreed. I was thinking that myself. I can’t really recall ever seeing a President meeting with hunger strikers. President Obama and Mrs. Obama are very compassionate, decent people. It will not be his fault if immigration reform does not get through this Congress. Let’s give him a better Congress in 2014.

Good day fellow TODers. Hope everyone had a blessed and joyous Thanksgiving. Things are quiet at my house right now. Son-in-law is hiking all day with hubby. Daughter and two grandchildren and a great niece have gone to Jump Jam and then to see Frozen. So……it’s just Grammy and grand puppy. I do have to go to the grocery store in a few to pick up some items for dinner. (Mexican)

mtmarilyn mentioned a story in her morning paper about Dems backing away from PO. Same story is on the front page of our paper. UGH! Such hatred and jealousy. They have NO idea of the love for this family, both here and around the world. Their loss.

Wow…either Pete Souza has a really really quick camera response or there were a lot of media there taking pictures. πŸ˜‰

I’m glad that the President and Mrs. Obama were able to sit with Fast4Families and talk with the. I’m sure that in addition to giving his support and encouragement , he also made sure — given the make-up of Congress — that their expectations be realistic of what can/will probably be accomplished in the near future; but at the same time they should not lose hope. The same message he gave to the heckler and those at the immigration event last week.

I have to echo the sentiments expressed that I have never seen a President, First Family, VP and Family who are as compassionate as President Obama, VP Biden and their families. Watching them interact with “regular” citizens as well as their interaction with each other is so wonderful to watch. The MSM has got to be unhappy that the President is by-passing them in spreading his message; that he is going directly to the people.

I don’t shop at WALMART. My extremely husband refuses to shop there even when he hast to pay a little more by going somewhere. We are socially responsible shoppers and only shop in places where we know the workers are well treated, COSTCO and WINCO and some small businesses are prime examples.

We long ago made the decision not to shop at Walmart. Whatever I might save is not worth patronizing them. The Walton family is obscenely wealthy, and treat their employees like serfs. I know that so many people who work at Walmart are working there because it’s the only job they can get. The Waltons know that, and take advantage of everyone. They have ruined many towns by pushing out the locally owned businesses, as we all know. We patronize those organizations that are owned locally as much as we can. I think Walmart is responsible for the lowering of American wages.
They make the robber barons of the late 19th century look almost altruistic.

Senior Megan Squire was born with Down syndrome, but that didn’t stop her from becoming a cheerleader. Fellow Verrado students say Megan’s story inspired them. “When she (Perry) came up with the challenge, I had to do it,” said student Clay Mueller, one of the masterminds behind the video.
Verrado’s video didn’t win, but it did place in the top five of Perry’s competition.

    I hope everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving.

This whole immigration issue is so sad to me. Every time I see people talking to family members through fences; trying to touch their hands, I think ‘there but for the grace of God go I’. I heard President Obama use this same idiom. I don’t want to by cynical, but I can’t accept that the Repubs in THIS Congress will care that these people are fasting. Boehner, Cantor, Cruz and their ilk have proven time and time again that they have no empathy – they are heartless. I hope there are enough sane Repubs who will muster the courage to vote with the Dems of immigration reform. Boehner said he’s not going to bring the Senate bill to the floor. If Boehner doesn’t than that particular bill dies.

    On a lighter note – I love Sasha’s shoes. I think she’s very stylish.

They may care when it is time for re-election. This is like slavery all over again. As an African American and woman, I cannot stand by and do nothing. What my Hispanic brothers and sisters are enduring brings backs images of the early days of the civil rights movement. We need to pass immigration reform NOW!! It will be a 3/5 compromise which we can rectify when we elect a powerful DEMOCRATIC HOUSE in November 2014. We need rappers to create raps about immigration that help people understand that half this country used to be a Mexican territory and we will no longer tolerate unequal treatment of any American citizen.
