Chat On, Night Owls

I can’t even talk about that Walters’ farce, so I’ll just post one of my most loved pics to calm me down.

I have never liked Barbra Walters… thus am very glad I don’t have a teevee, or I may have been tempted to tune in just to see POTUS & FLOTUS. Not surprised to read that she disappointed.

Here’s some fun reading “The Long Gross Career of Barbara Walters”. http://www.salon.com/2013/05/13/the_long_gross_career_of_barbara_walters/

Looks like the only asshole she didn’t date/sleep with in DC and New York was a Koch. Have fun with that. 🙂

Barbara was classless. She actually said she reeaaallly liked Ronnie Baby the best – while having the sitting President included in the documentary. There’s so much more I could say about Barbara WaWa, but I am trying to be respectful of Ms. Chip’s wonderful website.

    I’ve always thought Barbara W’s interviews were a. insipid b. condescending c. self-serving d. boring e. really, really stupid f. rude
From everyone’s comments I can tell she hasn’t changed a bit. I’ve never understood why she is considered so wonderful!
Fortunately my son and family are here visiting, so we didn’t even turn the TV on for it. The boys watched Harry Potter, and we talked and my son enabled my new smartphone. All in all a great evening…learned all I needed to right here!!!

Thank you, Mellesia. This says exactly how I feel about the O’s – NOTHING’s gonna change my love for each of them individually and as a family!!!! Thanks for this version that says that plainly (without the clutter of too many musical instruments).

Melissa and Vc, both of you have said it all. And you know the best thing about your truth, POB knows this. Our having his back keeps him moving on with a steady heart and mind to grace this nation with goodness that Barbara Walters will never be able to do.

(((((((((( Thank you President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for always showing the world how to walk with grace while power is graciously standing by you.)))))))))))))HZ

Breathing deeply, and trying to leave that hugely disappointing Walters showcase in the garbage where it belongs, IMO. I’m hurt though, because I was so looking forward to seeing and listening to the O’s, hoping maybe to get a little snippet of new news about my MOST favourit-EST WH family. Sigh! /swallowing harsh feelings towards Walters. moving forward./

So, what’s this current thread about? /I’d better raise my eyes and go see./

  13. November 29, 2013 at 11:20 pm

Chips, I have a harebrained thought. How about we undertake the project of compiling a comprehensive history of the Obama Presidency. You have already done greater chink of such an undertaking simply by the news links you fed us all these years.

But as we just discussed on Twitter with the dismal job Barbara Walters did, as do all her corporate media ilk, we cannot rely on them to give us a decent “First draft” of the Obama years.

And decades from now, when many of us have passed on, historians are gonna struggle to piece together accurate information about OUR BELOVED President. I suggest we help them out by compiling a detailed wikiObama for future intrepid Presidential newshounds. We cannot count on the kkinds of dignified revisions that Presidents Lincoln, Truman & even LBJ have enjoyed to boost their once crappy assessment.

Koch bros are gonna use their money to ERASE PBO from the public record. They’ve already started somewhat in TX school system. They’ll accelerate that in 2017 onwards and there aren’t ethical journalists anymore to give as fairly accurate first draft, on which veritable histories are built.

What say you Chips, & TODERS?

The problem for me, Eve, was that it wasn’t clear that the Os were only being interviewed for a VERY small segment of the show. My understanding was that the interview was being done at the White House, so I was expecting Walters throughout to return at every moment to the O’s. I’m concluding that she interviewed them briefly (or else left a lot on the cutting floor) then spliced the interview with a lot of other junk. The interview didn’t even seem like it was a ‘Christmas’ interview which one might have expected since we are getting towards that time. In fact, what we saw of the O’s could probably fit into one segment of 60mins, and the rest of the program was talking about all the other presidents and their wives, children and pets. Even when she asked the O’s a few questions in the beginning, we saw more of her on camera than of them.

No question she would have had fewer viewers, and some of us would have left after the first 15mins, if we hadn’t been left with the impression the O’s would be back.

We were duped by Walters to get ratings. That little short interview was a piece of crap. Did I miss the part where she thanked the Obamas for the interview? She should be ashamed of herself.

  18. November 29, 2013 at 11:42 pm

So Walters mentions the sleazy, despicable act of Clinton with his affair in the actual OVAL OFFICE. But wraps up that segment on him by saying that he however left office with the highest poll numbers of any president…thus trying to put some positive spin on this most disgraceful
lowlife behavior. Meanwhile she had the NERVE to say to our BELOVED PBO that people do not trust him!!!!!???.The most trustworthy honorable president who has ever held the office. GAWD..I was so angry and pissed I had to switch in order to keep my blood pressure down.
I could not believe what I was hearing. GARBAGE INTERVIEW!

What a pleasure it is to visit here! I’ve been doing a lot of reading today, found so much encouraging news. About fell off my chair laughing from your turd comment about Barbara Walters, Chips!! POTUS and FLOTUS are always so calm and classy that they shine no matter what.

I found some good news at WaPo

HealthCare.gov will meet deadline for fixes, White House officials say

Administration officials are preparing to announce Sunday that they have met their Saturday deadline for improving HealthCare.gov, according to government officials, in part by expanding the site’s capacity so that it can handle 50,000 users at once. But they have yet to meet all their internal goals for repairing the federal health-care site, and it will not become clear how many consumers it can accommodate until more people try to use it.

As of Friday night, federal officials and contractors had achieved two goals, according to government officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity in order to discuss ongoing operations. They had increased the system’s capacity and reduced errors…..

….“I continue to believe, and [I am] absolutely convinced, that at the end of the day, people are going to look back at the work we’ve done to make sure that in this country you don’t go bankrupt when you get sick, that families have that security,” Obama said. “That is going be a legacy I am extraordinarily proud of.”….

Sometimes the things I remember are bizarre. But here’s one, which I’ll be tweeting. I loved the late Peter Jennings, and now I also remember one of the reasons why, although at the time I thought it was rude. From the article:

” … One of the few times Mr. Jennings’s on-air aplomb deserted him was during coverage of the O.J. Simpson low-speed highway chase, in 1994. ABC’s Hugh Downs, after speculating as to what Simpson might be thinking, asked Mr. Jennings what he believed was going on in the former football star’s mind. ”I haven’t the vaguest idea, Hugh,’ he replied, betraying more than a tinge of exasperation. A little later, he offended Barbara Walters, telling her to be ‘quiet,’ so he could note an important development … ”

A federal judge ruled Wednesday that Colorado sheriffs suing the state over new firearm restrictions don’t have standing to proceed with the case as a group, but the legal battle is far from over.

The ruling from U.S. District Judge Marcia Krieger in Denver doesn’t stop the lawsuit because 21 other plaintiffs who are suing do have standing. The court will still consider whether universal background checks and a ban on ammunition magazines that hold more than 15 rounds are constitutional, the judge said.

“At this juncture, the court is not even considering whether the challenged portions of the laws are constitutional,” Krieger said.

Sheriffs in most of Colorado’s 64 counties filed the lawsuit in May, saying the new regulations violate the Second Amendment. The sheriffs are elected and represent rural, gun-friendly parts of the state.

In her ruling, Krieger said sheriffs can still choose to join the suit in an individual capacity, and they’ll have 14 days to make that decision. But they cannot, as a group, sue the state in their official capacities.

I remember long ago when she was supposed to have this big, hard-hitting interview with Henry Kissinger. I watched it and thought it was really pathetic. She’d ask a question, he wouldn’t answer the question, she’d ask the exact same question again, he wouldn’t answer again and then she’d go to the next question. Everyone raved about it and I couldn’t understand why at all. Just one more moment in my life being outside the mainstream.

Delurking to say thank you for the warning TOD family. I was trying to stay up (west coast) to watch the BW “interview” with our POTUS and FLOTUS… not because I thought it would be a good interview, but because of POTUS and FLOTUS. I will not be watching and can now go to bed knowing that I have saved my blood pressure from another RW, ODS-plagued, factless, insulting waste of time that they call an interview these days. Walter Cronkite must be spinning from the lack of journalistic integrity and Harry Reasoner laughing hysterically because he’s been proven right.

According to a WCBS 880/AP report back in May, “Walters said she wanted to leave while people are still saying “why is she leaving?” instead of “why doesn’t she leave?”’ http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2013/05/13/barbara-walters-83-announces-she-will-retire-next-summer/
To that statement I say “What took you so long?” She should have left about 20 years ago.

To make us all feel better, thought I’d post an article from BUSINESS INSIDER that a friend shared with me today:

I will say good night/morning to my TOD family with this: No plan, no person(s), no situation, no problem, no camera-person, and for sure, No one of actions as seen from Ms. Walters will ever distract, destroy, disturb, dismay, or derail, the purposes of this president. President Obama was given a core that is so true to his soul. When one has a core like his that is housed in a beautiful soul like his, this core can and will not be cracked or broken. The above forces are Not the Potter. They are not forms of Clay that the Potter used to put President Barack Obama together as this wonderful vessel. Powers higher than the foul spirits that try to invade POB’s space will not rattle him nor take away his purpose and vision for this nation and people of this world. With that vision which he has shared with only the closet people in his life to the point of what he needs from them to accomplish it; will keep President Obama grounded, and moving, and running his race steadily daily. Count on it.

Now, where we come in: stay focus, make our voices heard, walk with a steady step, keep our faith in POB pure and steady, see the larger purpose, do well at whatever we do, and keep our spirits fresh and focused in all that we do to help him.

This is a leader of great compassion.
This is a leader who will stay the course.
This is a leader who knows the race will be difficult at some junctures, but he will keep moving.
This is a leader who really does love people over politics.
This is a leader who will stay true to his core.
This is a leader who does not waste time on the petty stuff, but uses his time to further the cause for the Greater stuff.
This is a leader who is all of the opposite of what his enemies and envious chatter-heads daily try to proclaim loudly what he is.
This is a leader who has a pure heart for goodness.
This is a brilliant leader who uses his calm compass to move over the seas during the stormy weather and the calm weather.
This is a leader who will not be broken.
This is a leader who will bring to the table fairness, fortitude, and fearlessness to do the right thing for this nation.
This is a leader who knows who he really is deep within his inner being.
This is a leader who not only loves this nation, but he sees the goodness in the hearts of the people whom he leads within this nation.
This is a leader who has our backs as well.
This is a leader who does not pay attention to the things that will distract from the work of his elected position by the people as their president.
This is a leader who will listen even when the noise is so loud in ‘easy and awful sound bites.
This is a leader who has a patience to focus and wait the most destructive forces out.
This is a leader who knows that it is better to be on the ‘better angel’ of history than to waste time trying to re-invent his history.
This is a leader who knows what it means to be abandon, but still ‘He Rises.’
So, beautiful TOD family, keep Standing, keep listening, keep doing the good things, and Keep Rising With Our Beloved President.
Then we will leave history in a beautiful place for generations to come, And guess what? We Did This with the grace of Almighty Goodness.HZ
