Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving Chipsticks….TODers!

I am thankful and blessed for my life, my family and friends, my health and well-being.

I am grateful for the leadership of this President and that he is someone who is working on behalf of those of us who have not previously had a *real* voice in government (Washington). In President Obama, we have a rare jewel…many of us are already aware of this fact…may will look back one day and come to this realization.

I am appreciative to you, Chipsticks, for the creation of TOD and to you and the BT’s – UT, LL, LP, AMK, Zizi – for your efforts in maintaining this site and being the *journalists* that is sadly lacking in this country’s media; to the TOD Twitter Brigade for keeping us abreast of the views of others (especially for reminding us that the support for President Obama continues to be wide-spread) as well as for being our voice via social media; and to ALL TODers for sharing yourselves and your thoughts. The contributions of this international community enriches all of us who are a part of it.

Everyone enjoy this Thanksgiving season as you celebrate with family and friends and as you reflect on the blessings in your life.

We always thought Jeb Bush were the Bush brother will the most sense, the smarts, maybe we were wrong. Maybe none of them have any dam sense. That is why Barbara Bush said that the country is tired of the Bushes, we don’t need another Bush running for President. Hear her Jeb, listen to your Mom..

Exactly. First they worked with complex controversies that were hard to understand like Benghazi and the IRS stuff that seemed scary but no one could actually tell you what it was. Then they viciously attacked the website, which people can now verify for themselves is not so bad and is worth every second to get better health insurance. Now they’re screaming about stupid, easily verifiable stuff that looks desperate and very, very juvenile. They’re going to start recycling soon and we’ll be right back to Benghazi in the new year.

Morning everyone! Happy Thanksgiving! Happy Hanukkah! I think that John’s got the right idea here:) I go with HIS responses….

“I think you might just want to blow their minds, Ed, and say that back at the first Thanksgiving, when the Wampanoag fed the Pilgrims, they didn’t know it, but they had just invented socialism for undocumented immigrants,” Fugelsang said. “Then they’ll spend the rest of the night trying to process that.”

While admitting that keeping the peace can be difficult in a family setting (“You’ve got your Obamacare-hating uncle, you’ve got your NRA uncle, you’ve got your gay for Reagan uncle, you’ve got your uncle who uses ‘Benghazi’ as a verb”), Fugelsang said one way to defuse arguments over the Affordable Care Act is to advocate for a single-payer alternative, while reminding the family that President Barack Obama implemented a plan originally used by a Republican governor in Mitt Romney and upheld by a conservative-heavy Supreme Court.

    Much more at the link:)

Well desertflower, I’m so thankful I have no Uncle, cousin or relative who will be sitting at my table talking down the President. Most of my family voted for this President, they support him, they understand what’s behind the disrespect, the hate shown toward him and his family. Long ago before Chris Matthews realized it, we already knew that the Republicans were so against this President because he was a black man. Most African Americans who aren’t family know that too.

Thanksgiving Day is awash in sentiment, but gratitude is not a sentiment. It’s a virtue. It’s certainly nice, but it is more than a feeling or an emotion. Properly understood, gratitude is hard because it entails both an admission and a demand.

A genuine sense of gratitude is rooted in the realization that when I think about all that I am, all that I have and all that I might have achieved, I cannot claim to have done any of this by myself. None of us is really “self-made.” We must all acknowledge the importance of the help, advice, comfort and loyalty that came from others.

Gratitude can flow not only to individuals but also to a family, a neighborhood, a society or a nation. We don’t choose the family into which we are born or the environment our parents fostered. If we’re generally happy, might our disposition owe at least in part to our upbringing, or perhaps even to accidental genetic forces? If we belong to a once-oppressed group, we are in debt to those who waged battles to bring us closer to equal treatment. We enjoy a natural world that was conserved for us, even if it has sometimes been despoiled.

    Morning Must Read….

Good Morning, Chips Chica….and Master Danny O!

Chips, I don’t know WHAT I did to deserve you, 😉 but THANKS for opening your door/gate to me when you did! (Of course, as you have no doubt realized, that act of kindness means you are now stuck with me. 😀 Remember the old Chinese saying (I’m told) ‘If you save a man’s life, you are responsible for him forever.’ Not sure what was said if it’s a woman’s life, except I know YOU’re all for equality.

    ………………..♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ HAPPY, happy, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥………………..
