      Thanks, Utal! Keeping #ACA front and centre is terific. I can’t wait for the opposition to have to eat its words when this is up and running with lots of enrollees.

    ACA lies make trips around the globe by the liars who tell them, while Truth, Facts are willfully hidden struggling to get air time.

    Bin Laden, Mubarak, and Gaddafi were all brought to justice under PBO. Syria was disarmed by PBO, and now Iran is at the table all because of PBO. Now let that sink in for a moment, in all for your lifetime how many times have you heard a President’s administration lament about the difficulty of achieving anything in the Middle East. I would put PBO’s foreign policy record up against any President.

    Pope Francis is warning about Commercialism at the Olympics?

    Since the CA summer Olympics, I have never known anything else but commercialism in the Olympics. I womder what the Pope wants here as a change. Nations that host these events are not always rich nations. The cost ask the Greeks in 2002 is HUGE.

      Apparently it was done many years ago, well before he became a candidate. Around 2008/09.

        It’s not so much that he did this way back when, but the continuing GOP saga of “ok for us to do, but if YOU ever did something like this, we would strip your judgement and ruin your reputation! Bad choices. Poor judgement. Yada yada yada….

        Mills, who is the likely challenger next year to Rep. Rick Nolan (D-MN) in Minnesota’s Eighth Congressional District, said in a statement that it’s “no secret that in the past I’ve let my hair down to have fun with family and friends.”

        “My wife and I have had many lighthearted moments in our lives but right now I am focused on my Congressional campaign and the disastrous effects of our overreaching government and sky high unemployment in the north eastern Minnesota,” he said in the statement.

          That’s so true…if it were a Dem, Mills would be fully condemning, even if it happened when the Dem was a HS Junior….

          Don’t even worry about this guy; if beer pong and licking women was in his wheelhouse back in the day, chances are it is still in his wheelhouse. It is just a matter of time with this guy, he is on the clock and he doesn’t even know it.

    It is so heartening to read all of the positive tweets about Obamacare. I really wish that those 39 Dems would have been a little more patient before they took that impulsive vote. Dems need to stick together.

    I think I am linking wrong to the podcast so please someone help me out here;

    The last few days of JFK coverage have been very emotional on so many levels;

    So many things that were being resisted by the same group of conservatives and libertarians are very similar to the what they are still fighting now 50 years later.

    Then as now, a group of extremely rich individuals used their huge fortunes to fund bigotry and hatred against minorities and a President who not only supported the marginalized but also happened to be of a different religious background.

    Then as now, the role of the media in pushing the vitriol was so central to pumping the people in some parts of this country into a frenzy and irrational hysteria.

    I do not know if some of you have got a chance to read the book “ Dallas 1963: Setting the Scene for JFK’s Assassination” by Steven Davis, which gives some insight about the conditions that were prevailing in TX (especially Dallas) at the time JFK went in that fateful November day.

    The role the media played is no different from that played by the current rightwing echo-chamber;

    The role that a few rich people in Dallas played in funding the hate-machine is no different from that being played by today’s billionaires like the Koch brothers;

    Our local NPR station interviewed the author a while back and here is a link to that program which they entitled: “Setting the Scene: JFK and Dallas 1963”.
    Here is how WOSU/NPR introduced the hour-long program:

    “Most of us know the footage too well: A young President and Mrs. Kennedy riding in the back of a car during a parade in Dallas, TX. What happens next is famous history, but a new book explores events leading up to JFK’s assassination, and explores the ugly political and social climate of the last city he would visit. This hour we set the scene.”

    Here is the link to the audio/podcast of the discussion with the author of that book
    http://wosu.org/2012/allsides/setting-the-scene-jfk-and-dallas-1963/

    I feel that this is an important message to share out to others so I made this tweet to pass on. In case you feel inclined to share the podcast to others, please go ahead and modify as you see fit;

    The book gives an angle about the role of the media and the importance of the funding of hate during that time that I do not usually hear about. From it I could not help but note the parallels to today.

    Among the things that stood out for me is how a number of weeping Dallas women called the police to “confess” that the JFK shooter was probably their husband – before the real perpetrator had been identified. This means that now, as then, people looked away and did not challenge their friends or relatives or public figures when they spewed hate and bigotry but were very guilt-ridden when violence erupted. I know that confronting ones’ own family and friends can bigoted behavior or statement can be challenging but it must be done patiently and persistently. It can be rewarding even if these people are moved to just being “neutral”. We have to keep pushing on this front.

    So is you doubt that being vocal in your push-back against media, politicians or ordinary people is important, please be re-assured that it matters very much.

    We all have people who spew hate/bigotry and we have to find a gentle way to challenge them when they do.

    We also have to keep challenging the media when they push hate, lies, and mis-information about PBO and other groups of individuals who may not have a voice, clout, or time (due to barely being able to make a living) to speak out

    please remember to always take some few minutes and send a word of encouragement and thanks to those in the media who are trying to focus the world’s attention on the important things that are happening.

    Because of my bias, I want to encourage those journalists, who may not always agree with my position but recognize the gravity of issues on the global stage – especially the issues on which PBO (and his team) is focused and is trying to make a positive difference on otherwise intractable problems

    I’m not understanding these different health insurance deadlines. This article about MN states the deadline is Dec. 15 to get coverage by January 1. http://www.startribune.com/local/230850351.html The healthcare.gov deadline for open enrollment is March 31st. Why are there different deadlines? Are the state exchanges different and will close open enrollment on December 15th?

    That lying Darrell Issa started his lying I Hate Obamacare tour here in North Carolina. Whatever he call the tour, how much is it costing we taxpayers or is the millionaire Issa paying for his lying show?
