@petesouza: Pres Obama on conference call w U.S. negotiators in Geneva earlier today
This is a Night that Feels so Great that No matter what the anysayers say today…….PEACE is in the air. History is indeed made. TY Pres Obama. Thank YOU!
If you were a traveler to our planet from another galaxy tonight and you turned on CNNi you would think the most important country in the world is Israel and the world leader is Netanyahoo.
How screwed up is this?
I agree…PBO has tried to tell “nut n yahoo” that the world is moving on, things are changing and changing fast…he better get with the program or get left behind!!

“Take your boots off… Our generation will not go to war.”
CONGRATS IRAN! A decade long nuclear dispute between Iran and the West just ended on a long cold night in Geneva. The shadow of war will move away from one of the youngest and most vibrant societies in the Middle East. A proud generation who was raised through a long and devastating war and is sick and tired of violence. A modern politically savvy generation who has been trying to reform the structure of power through political participation for the past two decades.
Oh what a privilege to be here this night. I think of all the people in Iran who have been living in hell the last few years. 150 years ago was the Gettysburg address, 50 years ago Kennedy and now President Barack H Obama. We are watching the greatest President. I love what BWD tweeted. Blessed are the Peacemakers!!!!!!!
I’ve been really sick, but have been following everything going on here tonight and at #GenevaTalks. I am so happy for the world tonight and completely grateful to our peaceful President. Thank you Chips & TOD for always always being on the job, involved and committed.
For 2500 years, Iran has been the giant of the Middle East. Because it and the Roman Empire fought to exhaustion, the Arabs were able to conquer the entire area. But Iran soon reasserted its independence. The idea that a regional superpower should be frozen out of any role in the region is not only shortsighted, but untenable. Syria won’t be solved without Iran. Iraq won’t be solved without Iran. Afghanistan won’t be solved without Iran.
HF, if you remember back to 2004, during the presidential debate on foreign policy, Kerry listed this as his number one goal if he were elected. People should have listened to him. Instead they re-elected the war monger and we are still paying the price.
I hope Bill Maher is enjoying the news tonight. He was kvetching on Fri night that we might stay in Afghanistan for 10 more years.
Clearly he hadn’t read that Karzai had put the kibosh on that plan.
Now Iran breakthru.
Take back your “President lied when he said he’d end the wars bullshit,” Mr Maher and when your show comes back try to think and do research before you open your mouth.
Well, excuse me! Blitzer just burst into my feed sounding full of faux-excitement, and telling me if they can’t connect with their guy in Geneva, Candy Crowley was available to give her take. Well, those weren’t his exact words re Candy. Anyways, I turned it off. If they had set the link up previously they probably would have had more success , or I would have been more receptive.
Allow me to go in the wayback machine: Back in the 80s, I stayed up late on a school night so that I could watch CNN broadcast Mikhail Gorbachev’s first speech to a Party Congress. They showed the entire 4 hour speech. I miss that network.
Thank you, President Barack Obama for all that you have done to make this moment a moment to cherish for all mankind.
Thank you, President Barack Obama for choosing a team to help you bring about peace for all to enjoy all over this globe.
You make us so honored to be walking on this journey with you tonight.
Thank you for your entire team who work so hard to make this a better world.
Thank you, Sec. John Kerry for caring out your task with much care and determination from your president.
We thank you all tonight within the Obama’s Administration.HZ
#TrustBarack
Congrats TODable Doc Bobfr and LL
This is a Night that Feels so Great that No matter what the anysayers say today…….PEACE is in the air. History is indeed made. TY Pres Obama. Thank YOU!

Good eye Bob! That’s pretty cool for an historic moment.
Just do it! And he did!
25 minutes to PBO!!
CNNi obsessing over what Israel will do. Which, to be frank, is a good thing to obsess over.
Yes. I took my headphones off because I don’t want to hear the droning on and on….
If you were a traveler to our planet from another galaxy tonight and you turned on CNNi you would think the most important country in the world is Israel and the world leader is Netanyahoo.
How screwed up is this?
Well, to a great degree I agree with you. But the fact is that Bibi is NOT stable. I do fear what he’ll do. Hopefully PBO yanks on his chain hard.
Fankly, at this point nut n yahoo has already overplayed his hand. His ‘nuclear option’ is a dud.
I agree…PBO has tried to tell “nut n yahoo” that the world is moving on, things are changing and changing fast…he better get with the program or get left behind!!
Bob, congrats on first! and thank you for this tweet!!!
I am so emotional !!!
Thank you Chipsticks for being here for us to gather in peace

Here’s an earlier message Negar send today (DF posted on previous thread, but didn’t format like a tweet):
While we’re excitedly waiting for PBO’s statement, here’s my congrats to a student who follows @LRozen (posted on an earlier thread):
She’s back!!!!
Congrats President Obama, SOS Kerry, NSC staff and the whole administration.
Also, it can’t be said enough……TY SOOOOOOO MUCH for providing us this wonderful community gathering place, Chips!!! Will always be indebted.
OK, this is kinda funny 🙂
Oh well.
always remember to send your message of gratitude to those who do the hard work of re-marking the world as it should be!
And on a lighter note:
BobFR, glad you’re out of your inconveniently timed meeting!
Thank you Arapaho!! So glad to be here with all of you 🙂
This is like election night – I can’t keep up – also have to go out soon (1pm in my world) so hope the talks by all aren’t too much delayed
Nikes! wtf!!! President Obama and the Chief of Staff are wearing Nikes!!!!!!!
Don, can you just imagine the glee when the Nike Board of Directors see those photos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL……yep, I can see the commercial in my mind.
Nike, When you absolutely positively got to make a nuclear deal……………….
Don’t get to excited…… Kevin Plank, CEO of UnderArmour is close to PBO, and serves on one of his advisory boards.
Plus Phil Knight, is a right winger………big Romney/GOP donor.

Hope you are on the mend soon, Sheri
oh this helps a lot Bob ~ thank you. So completely happy and grateful.
Hope your health improves soon
thank you Linda- me too 😉 what a great night though.. and an awesome week, very grateful to be around for it all 🙂
It’s a good night for peace.
“Syria won’t be solved without Iran. Iraq won’t be solved without Iran. Afghanistan won’t be solved without Iran.”
And the person who has known that from long before he became President is Barack Obama & without doubt, John Kerry, also.
I presume AFTER POTUS??
HF, if you remember back to 2004, during the presidential debate on foreign policy, Kerry listed this as his number one goal if he were elected. People should have listened to him. Instead they re-elected the war monger and we are still paying the price.

He also sounded like he thinks Christie will be our next Prez. I certainly hope he is wrong on that too.
Well, excuse me! Blitzer just burst into my feed sounding full of faux-excitement, and telling me if they can’t connect with their guy in Geneva, Candy Crowley was available to give her take. In the 90s CNN would have been broadcasting live all through the night ….
They are now pathetic, Bobfr; luckily for me, I don’t watch them.
Allow me to go in the wayback machine: Back in the 80s, I stayed up late on a school night so that I could watch CNN broadcast Mikhail Gorbachev’s first speech to a Party Congress. They showed the entire 4 hour speech. I miss that network.
This changes everything. Just THINK of all the goodness that may come from this! One good thing just rolls into another….
BOOM! Perfect rebuttal.
These #NEWSTAINERS irritate the $##@#%@%# out of me 😉
Love you, Bobfr and Amk!!
😆 😆 😆 😆
Fantastic Bob!
So love that response…made my day!
I can’t stand Wolf Blitzer. What a dingbat.
But Richard engle sez…
whatever his paymasters want to hear—-usually guns war
Where to watch PBO’s statement? Nothing at wh.gov
http://www.giniko.com/watch.php?id=26
Thx!
Anytime! LL gave me this link:)
Thanks DF, I was looking for a site too!
Your welcome:)
They say it will be on whitehouse.gov on twitter. I think it will be.
C-Span will have it Marilyn:
http://www.c-span.org/Events/President-Obama-Delivers-Statement-on-Iran-Nuclear-Talks/10737442818-1/
At best will be begrudging reporting. They’d ignore this wonderful news if they could.
But they’ll settle for strewing doubts and fears.
The Misery Media is going to have a few bad days.
So, from what I’ve been seeing, the deal is a coup for the P5+1. Iran gets very little, and has to give up a lot.
/whisper/ O please, don’t word it like that. At least, not yet. Both sides negotiated. That’s the story I’m sticking to….in these early days/months.
a whole lot of foreign policy wins since Kerry took over. Just sayin’ 🙂
I hear you forus50 🙂
Where is the live stream? whitehouse.gov/live is offline.
just what I was looking for too Arapaho. do not want to miss it.
Same here. Says “off air”
see upthread; a giniko link to CNN (DF response to Meta).
here, cspan supposed to show it: http://www.c-span.org/Events/President-Obama-Delivers-Statement-on-Iran-Nuclear-Talks/10737442818-1/
God I HATE cnn.
They are freaking out / Saudi-Israeli talking points AND wikileaks.
F*** CNN!
(hasn’t started yet, 10:25 pm EST)
I’ll just wait for cspan.. I have nbc link on also, but muted.. listening to Gloria Steinham until POTUS comes on 🙂

HZ, you always have the most beautiful words.
Everyone, watch the BBC’s coverage. Much better than CNN’s. That, usually, goes without saying.
I don’t have BBC World, just BBC America. Live streaming link?
http://weplaylive.tv/world-news-stream/
Thanks. I will try that link. This Wolf Man on CNN is just driving me nuts.
