Gawker mercilessly mock Ron Fournier…..Exposed: Obama Image Machine Won’t Let Press Take Flattering Photos

…….But it gets even more upsetting:

When the Obama family adopted Bo, media photographers were allowed to take pictures of the dog. Not so when Sunny arrived. This photo was taken by the official White House photographer – a small sign of how far the White House is moving to push independent photographers out of the picture. How will democracy survive without independent photos of the second White House dog?

Ron Fournier and the WHPC are sick. I hope they are aware that Obamacare will happily cover them for the exhaustive help they need.

Congrats on first GGail, Great post UT!

The Obama administration has ordered a reassessment of the government’s process for granting security clearances and a top-to-bottom review of each of the nearly five million people who are currently authorized to see classified information in the United States. In a memo dated Oct. 31, and cited at a Senate hearing Wednesday, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper raised his concerns about the some 4.9 million security clearances currently active in the U.S., including 1.4 million “Top Secret” clearances…….

I don’t see what the big deal is about when it comes to the nuclear option; my wife uses the nuclear option every time we decide where to go for vacation.

Chuck Todd told Politico on Thursday that he will begin hosting his own radio show on SiriusXM’s P.O.T.U.S. channel.

The show, “Unscripted with Chuck Todd,” will air starting December 7th on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. It is the latest venture for Todd, who already splits his time between serving as NBC News’ chief White House correspondent, hosting MSNBC’s “Daily Rundown” and writing a book about Obama.

I stayed up late on my project, so got up about an hour ago. So I’m elated. I turned on C-Span and am enjoying the poor sniveling R Senators whine and living with impunity. Here’s what’s playing in my head. . . 😀

Love the historical context in which Senator Reid framed the entire discussion. Fact is, Democracy is all about MAJORITY Rule; not minority tyranny which is what we have had since 20 Jan 2009.

This news briefing really should be watched at least once, if not twice. It’s historic in so many ways:

Oh, thankfully, my post magically appeared.

Wouldn’t want to have withdrawals from TODville! (I did complete the form at http://akismet.com/, but no e-mail from them yet).

      • November 21, 2013 at 5:47 pm

Hiya Arapaho415, found you and freed you! If anyone missed it earlier, the spam filter on the blog – run by Akismet – has gone bonkers today, it’s put 30/40 comments by mighty fine TODers in spam, which is a complete pain in the ass.

If it’s happening you, please fill in the form at http://akismet.com/ and let them know.

When it happened Marilyn recently she contacted them and they got it fixed.

From what I’ve read, Akismet can incorrectly class genuine commenters on WP blogs as spam, so everything by them gets blocked. When you go to the contact link, click anywhere outside the comment box and then click the option ‘I think Akismet is catching my comments by mistake’.

Just got back from long debriefing meeting on this year’s local elections so missed the BIG news. Hallelujah! I feel as if the Senate and the American people just got out of jail. I hope every nomination that’s been stalled sails through the Senate between now and Thanksgiving and all those qualified souls who have been on hold can have a great holiday. Reid has been very patient–too patient in the minds of most of us–but I think it lends a special gravitas that he took his time, duly deliberated and made it clear that he had no other choice but to do what he did. The media has made such colossal fools of themselves with their obvious mouthing of daily GOP talking points during the whole health care fan dance that their whining today just seems laughable. How can anyone take them seriously anymore, when they’ve exposed themselves for all too see. When the fan drops, there’s nothing left to hide.

No better reason to just finish the job of restoring Majority Rule in the US Senate – TODAY.

I still don’t get Ron Fournier’s point about the press not being able to take pics of the President. What exactly is Ron griping about? Why is he so obsessed with the President’s pictures? I think Ron is jealous of Pete Souza for one thing, but I still don’t get the obsession. Pictures of PBO are everywhere. Why does the press need additional pictures of the President, the WH or the First Family, including Sunny and Bo?

    • November 21, 2013 at 4:37 pm

The press have been griping about this for years. Pete takes official photos at all official events and then issues them.
The press want more access to all events to take their own photos and choose the ones they want to distribute.
Pete releases TONS of photos all the time.
This is just whiny puffy “journalists” splitting hairs about their own self-importance. It’s also about trying to take unflattering photos of POTUS.

I thought this was a very important measure in regards to health coverage and the options. This outlines the benefits under the ACA and allows people to make a choice to opt-out of their present coverage and not be scared to sign up for a plan under the ACA.

They should have done it earlier for you know, this would have saved time and other laws that could have gotten passed. Public option, madicare for all, etc…..Ed’s points. I have heard them before. Yes he has a point. But Dems tried until they could no longer defend the obstructionism any more.

Moving FOEWARD is what Ed and Us all should be about. Get the nation moving FORWARD!

Did Ed ever apologize for his telling Dems not to vote in 2010? Why people still listen to what that clown has to say is beyond me. He always flakes out when he can do the most damage to democrats (he usually says some shit to gain his listener’s trust a week before doing the GOP’s bidding). He is not a real Democrat, he only plays one on TV. I am convinced that he is a GOP plant.

A giant Boeing 747 LCF Dreamlifter airplane successfully took off for McConnell Air Force Base Thursday afternoon after mistakenly landing at the tiny Wichita Jabara Airport. The plane had been stuck on the short runway since it landed the night before.

I have an english history book printed c. 1867 (it talks about the much loved Queen Victoria). My dad used it when a student and teacher 1930s. He probably also used it after WWII. At some stage he rebound it (not very well) and the front pages are missing so I cannot pick up the proper title/publisher to check any further details.

This may require a bit of elbow grease on your part, but there’s a good chance that Google has it scanned. If you Google some passages from it, you might find it on Google Books.

I haven’t tried googling the text – but have searched before – so thanks for the idea – I’ve read the book a couple of times – highlights the fact that since 1066 – war has been the way of the world – as things change – so they stay the same.

Everyone has a point where they will get fed up. Even the most, docile, the most patient, the ones who want to avoid conflict at all costs. There is a limit to the abuse that anyone will take before they say ENOUGH!!!

Today, the Senate Democrats have finally reached that limit. The Senate’s rules have allowed the Republicans to run hog wild with the filibuster for no other reason than that they *could*. There was no restraint in its use. And with the endorsement of their party and the media, their obstructionism became a game of showmanship.

Hopefully, this is only beginning. Hopefully, this will be the first of many “exercises” that will strengthen Democrats’ backbone, and they will stop allowing the obstructionism and games of showmanship that are hindering the progress of this country.

    • November 21, 2013 at 5:29 pm

Yes! Once we get a few successful votes under our best, it’s going to start feeling REALLY good. They’ll understand perfectly clear how they’ve been enabling the RWNJs behavior all this time. I only wish they’d find a way to do this for legislation as well.

I see Grassley is threatening to filibuster Supreme Court nominations. The GOP want to see a hobbled Supreme Court, too. They are JUNK.

      • 107 ERICFIVE
        November 21, 2013 at 6:23 pm

It won’t matter for legislation since the GOP still controls the House. As for the Supreme Court, what would lead one to believe that the GOP would not filibuster those nominees with or without the nuclear option being exercised? Right now the GOP is throwing a tantrum. They got played in that they thought Reid did not have the votes and/or balls to stop GOP obstruction regarding filling judicial vacancies and administration posts. Of course we can expect MSM spin that the GOP tricked Reid, but we know that is TOTAL bullshit. Expect the MSM to push their propaganda spewing to “eleven”.
