    GOOD NEWS IS NO NEWS

BY NANCEGREGGS, ON NOVEMBER 17TH, 2013

    ———————————-

In the past week, I have heard the phrase “Obama’s Katrina” bandied about – and truth be told, the similarities between the aftermath of Katrina and the problems with the Obamacare website cannot be easily dismissed. How many heart-wrenching photos of people standing on their rooftops, holding up hastily-crafted signs saying, “We cannot access the website – please send help!” have assaulted our senses since October 1st? What level-headed American does not immediately see the connection between people stranded without food, water and shelter and those who are living the nightmare of not being able to log onto a website?
    .
    .
It used to be that when TV news broadcasts focused on stories about trivialities, their audience assumed that it must be a slow news day. Well, we have now come to that place where it is all mindless trivia, all the time. And you can’t tell the average “newscaster” that there are actually important things happening in the nation, and the world at large, because it’s a concept they obviously don’t have the intellect to grasp – and sadly, neither do their remaining viewers.

First Lady Michelle Obama is a shining star as usual in a lovely fitted coat and suede boots. Her look is so fresh and young and flattering. Her date isn’t too shabby, either.

Sorry, but Hillary in that floor length coat…..oh well…. never mind and yes I am showing how shallow I can be.

OKay, well lets say that FLOTUS is at least 15 yrs younger than Hillary. But Dr. Jill, who is about the same age, looks and dresses so well, and fresh/modern-looking! I won’t judge Hillary for her appearance, but I will say that Dr. Jill’s style shows that you can be over 60 and be very fashionable without being inappropriate.

The post above from Nance Greggs talks about the feckless media and their obsession with only reporting bad news about President Obama. The media firewall continues to systematically filter out the good news. Nance nails it with her righteous rant calling out the media.

      very thoughtful essay….

      lines worth noting,,,,

America doesn’t seem to favor redistribution, as much as it did in the 60s’. This is not only an anti-big Government response. It springs from a feeling of national scarcity, even decline, that we no longer have the abundance, and therefore the policy options that we used to have. What is given to one group of people is not available to others. Competition for resources becomes zero sum: win-lose. If you win, I lose; and vice versa.

So what is the significance of this? Even with a working website, even with millions enrolled. even with 2015 premium increases turning out to be modest, many Americans will be waiting for the other shoe to drop, revealing what bad thing will happen to me, because the poor and the uninsured are benefitting..

      ****************************************

The chart says so much…that folks of color…can see things a lot more clearly that white folks…but then isn’t that always the case…

although there are folks of color in the middle class…I would be very interested in knowing what is the percentage of white working class is against the ACA…this chart does not break down folks economically….

Somebody on Twitter mentioned Tamron Hall has a new show on, tonight. Anybody know when? I was so hoping she had replaced Chris Hayes, but no such luck.

    • 107 anniebella
      November 20, 2013 at 8:24 pm

I was hoping Joy Reid would replace Hayes, but it appear that won’t happen. I wonder how Alec Baldwin could get a show and get suspended already. But i guess Joy Reid isn’t light skinned enough. They will only hire the white or light skinned black.

She has been talking about some kind of true crime show she was producing——–don’t know what channel.

Tamaron has a show on the Discovery Channel, but it has been on for quite awhile. It is similar to Dateline, where it involves unsolved murders.

Funny fact just hit me…..President Obama was two years old on that fateful day…..now, fifty years later, he is the one laying the wreath at JFK’s grave. How elegantly, gracefully and meaningfully he performs every ritual of his office. They are never just routine, he shows the deep meaning in each one.
So glad to see him enjoying himself at the Medal of Freedom awards.
When will we get to see pictures of FLOTUS at the Medal of Honor celebration….someone said her gown is wonderful!

People are odd. 2013 people bought $99 vials of “melted ice” from the Chgo Blackhawks championship season. Wonder where one displays this prized water possession. Maybe not as odd as the stitches removed from one of the skaters that went for $7,000, or thereabouts. Proceeds all go to charity, so vive odd!
