Great photo — Ernie Banks and President Obama, what could be better? So glad our President had a day where we could celebrate some amazing people and their accomplishments and hopefully have some fun.
Hello. Anybody home?
Did everybody go to VP Biden’s birthday party? Sorry, VP for the late Happy Birthday, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Ms. Dudette, if you are still up I just want you to know that I am still listening and dancing to Earth, Wind and Fire.
What a band! What energy! Just like Steve Harvey, Lovers Holliday is my favorite.
Caught a segment of the Del-Fonics on TV One earlier tonight.
“La-La-La means I love you.”
Evenin’ TOD night owls. Just got home and checked my mail box to see the US Post office is spreading the word about Obamacare mailbox to mailbox, at least here in Cali. Yes!
Urge every member of the #TODCommunity to bring maximum pressure on @SenatorReid and @NancyPelosi to BE the MAJORITY they actually are.
House DEMS won 1.5 MILLION more votes, in aggregate, in 2012 than #Teabagger #KOCHSTER GOP.
At this point, at least 18 House Republicans, wishing to have influence on what their respective Congressional Districts (CD) receive, should be able to be convinced by Speaker Pelosi that if they would Flip and caucus with DEMS they could be super-stars in their CDs!! I.e., what I’m proposing is pragmatic and plays directly to what matters most to any House member – bringing home the bacon to their CD and thereby getting re-elected.
The #Teabagger (aka LIBERTARIAN) reality is that they only bring home more $$$ to a few folk who more likely than not have no vested interest in what they do for the people in their CD who elect them. That reality is worthy of intense focus and exploitation by DEMS in those CDS.
The Senate Republicans went WAY TOO FAR …. and now they are gonna pay. And, BTW everyone, WE are the ones who assure that the Senate REMAINS DEM CONTROLLED well into the foreseeable future.
What an incredible history-making day Wednesday has been. I continue to be awe of our great President and First Lady! They represent and serve us all with incredible grace, intelligence, and humility.
Agree with you totally! This is a day of days to be remembered.
I am so proud of our POB, FLOTUS, VP and Dr. Jill Biden.
What a team!
Glad to be alive to experience all of this. I never knew love like this in the WH.
Clip from a documentary on the life of Bayard Rustin. Description from YouTube:
“To watch the entire documentary, to read background information and to order DVDs, visit: http://newsreel.org/video/BROTHER-OUTSIDER-BAYARD-RUSTIN
This is a definitive film biography of one of the most controversial figures of the Civil Rights Movement. Hew was one of the first “Freedom Riders,” an advisor to Dr. Martin Luther King and A. Philip Randolph, organizer of the 1963 March on Washington, intelligent, gregarious and charismatic, Rustin was denied his place in the limelight for one reason – he was gay.”
Funny story, Bill. Years ago, found myself awake at 3 am and ran out to a little all night market. I threw my coat on over my pi’s, after all there’d be no one there. Well, Ernie Banks was there! I think he could see the embarrassment on my face and discreetly opened his coat…he had his on too. You are so right, he is such a gentle man and a gentleman.
amk…it’s all your fault. I thought I was being so smart, so I passed this info on to my grandson. He wants to know if they can “wee wee” in space. I said, “I’ll ask amk, he knows”. 🙂
National Security Adviser Susan Rice announced in this speech that PBO will travel to Asia in April (for the trip that was canceled in October due to govt shutdown). Excellent speech by the way. Worth watching.
“During a pivotal scene in “Gravity,” Sandra Bullock’s character Ryan Stone, trapped inside a Russian space capsule with little hope of survival, makes contact with a male voice speaking via radio in a foreign language. What unfolds on the other end of that fractured conversation, complete with a barking dog and a crying baby, is the subject of a short film by Jonas Cuaron, son of director Alfonso Cuaron, who co-wrote the screenplay for Warner Bros.’ $500 million-grossing awards contender with his father.
That seven-minute companion piece, titled “Aningaaq,” was financed by Warner Home Video, which initially envisioned it as a unique extra feature for the Blu-ray edition of “Gravity.” But the stark, contemplative “Aningaaq” has developed a life of its own via festival screenings at Venice and Telluride. Now Warners has submitted it for Oscar consideration in the live-action short category. Should it snag a nomination alongside its sure-bet blockbuster companion, they are poised to make Academy Awards history as the first feature and spin-off short drawn from the same material to be nominated together in the same year….”
First!
En effet.
Congrats, NCLB – 1st, 2nd, 3rd!
Two sweet men in that photo, Chips!
Félicitations, No Child!
Thanks Chips and J’Oboomer.
Congratulations on 1st NCLB and I’ve been keeping you in my thoughts, as I’m sure all of our TOD Community have also been doing.
Hope all is as good for you as possible.
Bien le bonsoir, la compagnie.
Wow! Still first? Actually, I feel alone here. Did I land on the Twilight Zone? Can’t be because I see my President.
Great photo — Ernie Banks and President Obama, what could be better? So glad our President had a day where we could celebrate some amazing people and their accomplishments and hopefully have some fun.
The Obamas looked so happy at the concert tonight. Glad they had a day like today, even though part of it was quite solemn.

I remember well as a kid in the 50s and 60s watching Ernie Banks play for the cubs. What an athlete, what a gentleman!
Funny story, Bill. Years ago, found myself awake at 3 am and ran out to a little all night market. I threw my coat on over my pi’s, after all there’d be no one there. Well, Ernie Banks was there! Aw, how sweet is that? Terrific story FaxPax. 🙂
I bet you didn’tknow that.
Didn’t know this either, didya?
Hence the term ‘crying on the inside’
amk…it’s all your fault. I thought I was being so smart, so I passed this info on to my grandson. He wants to know if they can “wee wee” in space. I said, “I’ll ask amk, he knows”. 🙂
Good question. Your grandson is very smart.

Howard Wolowitz of the big bang theory claims he invented such a toilet that NASA used.
Thanks, amk. We will go over this when he comes home from school. So wonderful of you to add to my daily tasks. 🙂
A man’s work is never done. 🙂
Strangest conversation I have EVER woken to! 😆
It’s what happens with little nosey seven-year-olds. Too many questions for me. 🙂
Weeing in space? That would be beyond my pay grade too FayPax!!
One aims to please.
Seeing as you’re in professorial mode this morning, here’s another question for you: what’s the meaning of life?
Ooooo, oooooo, I know that one! Pick me! Pick me! 😀
Simple. Be a PITA. That’s what wifey unit tells me all the time. And I always respect her wishes.
😆 Thank you PITA!
That is FREAKY weird!!!!!
Yes it is. 🙂
Good Morning, Chips-a-doodle! 🙂
Moooooooorning Dooooooodlette!!
