FLOTUS looks like a very young adult in that top pic. All the O’s have such excellent genes, and such lovely spirits.

Well I agree with Chaka Fattah 100%. We have folks complaining about junk policies, when they aren’t saying a dam thing about the 40-50 million Americans without health insurance. I told Senator Hagan that very thing.

I like the way you consistently tell the politicians what you think, Annieb. They heed to know that people are aware of what they do/don’t do while in office.

Thank you vc, she is my Senator and she is one of the senators supporting some bill by that Sen. Landrieu. And I wanted to let Hagan know that anything which might derail or damage the ACA I do not support it.

He is just the happiest man when he is with his three girls!!! He just bursts with pride and love for them…and that is what makes him so absolutely appealing to us.

I imagine he’ll be going to Washington, IL this week…..that’s his territory. I’m sure he’s campaigned there and knows people there. This will be a busy week…….when disasters like this happen, all the other made up concerns of MSM seem so petty…..which we know they are, but these things even shut them up for a while. His visits mean a lot to people. I know that from his visit here. Doesn’t make any difference what party you are, you just want the president to express sympathy and acknowledge your disaster for the whole country.

Nice family shots. they are such a wonderful role model to the world. That’s right Mr Obama. Never let them see you down

I am just mesmerized by the pictures of Malia and Sasha. This is the first series of pictures of them since the inauguration. Each girl is so beautiful…and expressive. We are SO lucky to have this family for these eight years.

Love, love the pics and anxious for the promised ones tomorrow. 🙂

On subject of the ACA: Here’s a link with a great assessment. Alll you who tweet–tweet away.

Washington Post had to let us know that the crowd cheering when POTUS came in, but there was some boos too. I didn’t know Chuck Todd, David Gregory, Jonathan Karl, Mark Knoller, Sharyl Attkinsson, Lara Logan, Don Lemon, Ed Henry, Ezra Klein were at the game.

One of my best friends just texted me that her sister and kids who lives in Washington, IL were very fortunate today. Every home on their block was either greatly damaged or completely destroyed but only their’s was untouched. Some of her neighbors are in the hospital but all in the immediate neighborhood survived. What a day here in Illinois.

Continuing my campaign of the simple-minded way to inform #TheBubbaVote who their real ENEMY is …..

If OFA, DSCC, DCCC, AFLCIO etc would just crystallize the message they could readily accelerate transforming Red States to Blue …

Simply, hey Bubba, PBO wants you to keep your gun and he’s busting his butt trying to feed, educate, provide health care to you and your kids, GOT IT, DUDE. Sure, the guy is ‘black,’ but his heart is GOLD and he’s ALL THERE FOR YOU.

    Yes We Can

    • 68 theo67
      November 17, 2013 at 10:22 pm

The problem with the Bubbas out there is that they’ve now been convinced that they shouldn’t expect anything from their government. They think that government should be abolished, or only there for war and to support corporations, which they somehow think are actually solely responsible for job creation. If you list the things that government actually does, they think it’s only moochers who are using those services. I saw one who responded to Jon Favreau in a prior post – they no longer believe in government.

      • 69 amk for obama
        November 17, 2013 at 10:25 pm

Nope, they only don’t believe in govt that helps ‘others’. They only believe in govt in hands only them the goodies.

      • November 17, 2013 at 10:33 pm

theo, my approach is simple minded – get Bubba past the ‘keep your gun part’ and get him/her focused on who is really denying them food, shelter, a decent salary, affordable education ….

We’ve just witnessed, in Louisiana of all places, a PRO-Obamacare Republican defeat an anti-Obamacare Republican.

We have no reason to be cynical or doubtful of our message.

Just get Bubba past the gun issue and focused on food, shelter, job, health care and education.

        Yes We Can

This is coming from the total been-in-love-with-Egyptian history all my life nerd…..but did anyone else notice that in a couple of pictures Sasha bears a startling resemblance to Nefertiti, the beautiful Queen of Ancient Egypt. Go ahead…..google her, and see if I’m right.

    #RealityTVShowsNeeded is a thing we’re doing, because it’s Sunday

    • November 18, 2013 at 2:40 am

Some Denver Broncos have one somewhere, probably local TV. A couple newlyweds, a new father this week, an engagement to an Olympic medalist. The guys are hot. Think it’s lighthearted. 😉 I’m sure it’s for charity.

Good evening TOD family. WOW, those pictures are just gorgeous!!!! So much has gone on this weekend, I just had to come and post why I love living in MT. We spent the weekend with friends in a cabin in the mountains. We saw 2 beautiful golden eagles, elk, deer, about 200 snow geese and the largest flock of canadian geese we have ever seen. There had to be 1000. It was such a beautiful spiritual experience. It makes it worthwhile living in a purple state and having to deal with tea partiers and conservatives. It is hard politically but oh, do I love the outdoors.

My prayers for all the folks in Ill. dealing with the aftermath of tornadoes. Also Thanks to all you wonderful regulars that keep us information and give us all those great tweets.

I am off to unpack and eat. Have a great night.

  33. November 17, 2013 at 10:43 pm

    Yes, we need a #FederalBlueLaw

And, this is an issue that we can readily use to convert a bunch of Bubba votes from R to D ….

    Yes We Can

    • November 17, 2013 at 10:47 pm

Most businesses in Germany can’t open on Sunday. While I wouldn’t go that far (save for Easter), I would certainly be for Federal holidays being, well, holidays.

      • November 17, 2013 at 10:51 pm

Have no problem with those who work 5 or 6 days a week having a day off – irrespective of what day of the week it is. Sunday is a reasonable default, for many, for many reasons.

But, Federal Holidays – ESPECIALLY THANKSGIVING – should be moments when All Americans chill, enjoy one another, and give thanks for what we have and honor all who enabled us to have America.

Hard to believe that so many do not see this – or perhaps do not want to see this. The anti labor GOP legislation that has well reached Australia is greed beyond belief.

  35. November 17, 2013 at 10:52 pm

My power finally came back on here in Indianapolis. A 25 ft. tree split in half….somehow miraculously instead of going through my bedroom window… it fell on the side of the roof…… destroying the siding & gutters. I consider myself lucky after seeing the pictures of devastation like this……..

    • November 17, 2013 at 10:59 pm

Yes, LP, you are very fortunate. Thankful that you are ok. The folk in Washington, IL – well, that’s disaster with a capital DISASTER.

For 50 years, greedy plutocrats have done everything possible to prevent sensible steps to reduce CO2 emissions known to be toxic to our ecosystem. That greed will now KILL MILLIONS, if not BILLIONS of humans and render extinct countless other species – one of which, in a decade or two, may well be US.

Oh my goodness. Glad to hear you are safe, LP. Can’t begin to make sense of all this devastation…will need a day or two to process. Now I’m waiting to hear from Japa and Cookemom.

LP, grateful that you are fine. Please rest peacefully as possible.

a4alice, ((((((( TY, for your concern.))))))))))

Desertflower, TY for your loving and encouraging words for my appointments. My dentist is so wonderful. He has a wonderful selection of great music along with providing the earphones for his patients. Once, I get there, I hope that I will be just fine. I have been going to him for over 15 years, so that means a lot to me. I am just a little anxious in my golden years.

((((((((( Thanks to all who wish me well because I do love you and appreciate your thoughts which I will carry in space during this time.)))))))))HZ
