So Chips, how do I put a Avatar on this site? or a picture? I am not too sure how to do that with word press. I am not even too sure I remember my password either. I never log out of your site. πŸ™‚

The Beltway ALEC meme attacks on Obamacare are highly organized and funded. Not one media article about Food Stamp hardships for children

    Jeff Gauvin ‏@JeffersonObama 12h

Beltway media ignores millions of families, many of them military ones cut off from Food stamps at Thanksgiving to bitch about ACA website

    Jeff Gauvin ‏@JeffersonObama 12h

Millions of families and military veterans will have a brutal Thankgiving this year thanks to drastic GOP cuts to food stamps but #Obamacare

      “are highly organized and funded.”

This is key and it explains this as well:

As I told dotster and K. Krivett on yesterday, the almost 100% media focus on the rollout of ACA exchanges to the exclusion of everything else is what we should be focused on, not whether or not “PBO’s credibility is on the line.”

A concerted effort indeed. Notice that Hitzlik took on this story because he reports on health issues. Other media gluts come with zero understanding of the law, but with an agenda to boot, offering themselves to the highest bidder to sow confusion and misinformation.

Chipsticks, I’m enjoying the pictures of Danny and reading about his escapades. I’m sure it amuses you when he takes you for a walk. Funny how dogs like to show they’re in charge even when they’re the ones on the leash. πŸ˜€

I saw the comments last evening indicating that the healthcare.gov website now has <1% errors. Great News!!!!! That should be the among the highlights of the Sunday news shows.

[I'd probably win if I bet that the focus will be on the <1%.]

      November 17, 2013 at 8:09 am

The beltway says the website is broken and is a disaster, regardless if it’s less than 1%.
The beltway threw around its muscle in the lead up to Iraq war, even I was all gung-Ho at the time.
So, they can sway public opinion, and are doing so now.
But why? The budget battle in January and February, the GOP looking for maximum leverage.

        November 17, 2013 at 8:12 am

Yes, it’s for the budget battle as well as the 2014 midterms. But they will NOT succeed on either count. They tried to weaken PBO for the 1st budget shutdown with the Syria issue as well. That didn’t work out.

      • November 17, 2013 at 8:19 am

“But why? The budget battle in January and February, the GOP looking for maximum leverage.”

Of course that’s what’s going on.

I anticipate more drama in January and February. What’s going on with the budget talks? Are the Republicans once again refusing to negotiate with the Democrats so that they can whine again in January that the Democrats won’t work with them? That’s what the big deal should be in the media right now — especially after the gov’t shut down that we just went through — instead of making a big deal about website gltiches.

I’m not sure how well they are swaying public opinion though. More people than they know realize what is really going on and are giving less and less weight to what they see and hear in the media.

We lost 3-9 points on generic midterm ballot, Dems were running for the hills. That’s how you can tell.
But the president apologized to take pressure off of congressional Dems.
          I expect that to help.

Not one letter to any Congressmen about being dropped from an insurance company or an insurance company raising its rates on average of 25% before October 1, 2013. One would think that nobody anywhere had any problems with insurance companies before Obamacare.

if I were Israel PM Netanyahu, I would not do most of my lobbying against the Iran nuclear deal BEHIND the stage.

Why? Because, there will be a day of reckoning once these nuclear talks are concluded – no matter how they conclude (personally, I am hoping for disarmament).

so if after all this public trash-talking against the efforts of PBO and the P5+1 leadership, PM Bibi’s position loose out, WHAT has he planned as his political-off-ramp?? He will have weakened his administration by isolating himself from the global consensus on Iran Nuclear talks.

      November 17, 2013 at 9:08 am

Good point criquet! I’ve been saying this from day 1. When people (including some PBO supporters) keep saying that this administration has a “messaging problem” I quickly challenge them on this meme – which is also being pushed in the same media that aggressively seeks to destroy PBO’s message by blacking out his speeches and presenting/reporting one-sided GOP driven talking points.

      • 86 Jovie
        November 17, 2013 at 9:10 am

But they show Boner and his American people speeches?

      • November 17, 2013 at 9:26 am

“…media that aggressively seeks to destroy PBO’s message by blacking out his speeches…”

…or take his words out of context to support their agenda.

I have been saying the same thing as well Criquet and Hopefruit. The President’s so-called messaging problem is primarily due to this black-out strategy.

I often complain about the silence of Democratic leaders, but perhaps this black-out strategy extends to them as well.

          November 17, 2013 at 9:30 am

You’re right swbluega. Democrats are also blacked out by the media unless they have a cricitism of PBO, in which case they get endless air time on the networks.

Meanwhile, you will rarely find a prominent GOPer being allowed to criticize John Boehner, Eric Cantor or Ted Cruz on national TV.

    I don’t know how many here remember a few republican operatives who had to go to jail for breaking into Democratic computers & jamming them during election GOTV;

So I read about hacking and denial of service attacks directed at Obamacare’s healthcare.gov, I tend to think this will turn out true and someone will do time in jail for it.
