    Good hussle, Dee!

Congrats on first, Dee! ……..Unbelievable, NRA & RWNJ can’t even handle an internal debate on guns!

The Florida-based gun enthusiast magazine Guns & Ammo fired longtime editor Dick Metcalf on Wednesday and apologized to readers after Metcalf’s column in the magazine’s December issue sparked an online uproar from readers, gun bloggers, and other corners of the conservative movement.

“I made a mistake by publishing the column,” Guns & Ammo editor Jim Bequette wrote in a statement. “I thought it would generate a healthy exchange of ideas on gun rights. I miscalculated, pure and simple. I was wrong, and I ask your forgiveness.” Bequette said the magazine had failed to be true to its readers’ expectations of unqualified defense of the Second Amendment, and announced that the magazine had ended its “association” with Metcalf. Bequette, Metcalf, and Guns & Ammo have not responded to requests for comment.

Metcalf’s back-page column was headlined “Let’s Talk About Limits,” and cautiously argued that gun enthusiasts should not oppose basic limits on firearm ownership

How sad, that gun advocates, can’t see the need for thoughtful conversations and agreement on how to handle this escalating tide of gun violence. We own guns, and we have no problem with limits. So many are collecting armaments , thinking the president is heading the “New World Order” and they gotta defend the nation against this administration and the coming hoards of lazy shiftless people. Idiots.

I know folks here weren’t too enthusiatic about Big Eddie after his 2010 antics, but Oh Boy has he seen the Light!
Night after night highlighting and applauding ACA sucesses. Long long interview with Ky Gov. Beshear. Relentless on GOP idiocy. Ed has been sticking to the main points that ACA helps people and website glitches will be fixed.

There has been a lot of stress on numbers and I get that. We have a horse-race, score-keeping approach to “news’ in the USA.
From what I can tell the only number that actually matters as to sucess or failure is the 7 million enrollment target that needs to be reached by April 1 in order for the funding to work.
If anyone here knows more about what numbers are really important please share. Apparently there was a 800,000(?) sign up statistic that Sec. Sebelius was mentioning. True??

Not sure how I got to this article – months old – about the murder of a DA in Texas BUT – if ever there was a reason for Texas to love the ACA this would be why

“McLelland and Hasse had prosecuted Eric Williams for theft of computer monitors from Kaufman County’s IT department and won a conviction. He was sentenced to probation, but the verdict cost him his law license, his job and the health insurance he and his wife — who testified that she suffered from several ailments including rheumatoid arthritis and Sjogren’s syndrome — depended on.”

It seems the loss of job and associated health insurance cost a DA & wife & assistant DA their lives.

So this morning, hubby is in Starbucks placing an order. Two elder white gentlemen are standing next to him and one asks him if he is…get this…Dr. Ben Carson! Hubby says no he’s not and then the man says that he sounds just like him. Then he says something about being a conservative and Dr. Carson is a conservative. He goes on to make some stupid comparisons between democrats and republicans.

Hubby gets his order, goes back to the car and brings him a copy of one of our local magazines, last week’s issue of the Santa Fe Reporter, the title was, “Black in Santa Fe.” He tells the man that he was interviewed for the article and tells him that he’s the president of the local branch of the NAACP!

Well the man’s friend starts chuckling and says, “You really stepped in it this time!” The man begins sputtering about how he used to be a member, but his views became more conservative over the years, but he supports NOW and yada, yada yada. Hubby tells him the NAACP is non-partisan and invited him to come to a meeting sometime. He is really so much better at dealing with this kind of crap than I am. I probably would said something snotty like, “Not only do we all look alike to you, I guess we all sound alike as well.”

My friend won his County Board seat in his minuscule rural PA county!!!! He is a Democrat in a red area but he has a knack for talking to every walk of life. He won over the jerk who only wanted the job in order to give himself zoning variances, and my friend made it his platform that he was there to serve the county.

He was down by 5. There were 15 absentee ballots. He took 13 or the 15 and won by 6!!!!!!!

I wish programs on msnbc like Ed and Rev. Al wouldn’t give so much air time to all the crazies. I don’t want to see/hear all the hyped up, extreme anti-Obama hatred, the hysterical screeching of Limbaugh and talk radio Levin etc. etc. etc. Even if the point is to show the extent of the craziness, I don’t want these lying, crazed, dangerous, damaging goofballs to get any additional exposure. We know they’re out there. It’s ridiculous, imho, to waste up to half of these programs airing this junk. Not smart.

He was accused of being behind a roadside bomb in September that killed Maj Gen Sanaullah Niazi, the top commander in Swat, along with two other military personnel. Mullah Fazlullah was known for his radio broadcasts calling for strict Islamic laws and earning him the nickname “Mullah Radio”.

The shooting of Malala Yousafzai in October 2012 sparked outrage in Pakistan and across the globe. The teenager had spoken out against the Taliban’s restrictions on girls’ education. She was airlifted to the UK for hospital treatment and now lives in Birmingham with her family.

This year Malala, now 16, addressed the UN General Assembly and won the European Union’s Sakharov human rights prize. Prior to the latest Taliban announcement, the BBC’s M Ilyas Khan in Islamabad said that Mullah Fazlullah was not a member of the Mehsud clan and, if appointed, would face a challenge to control the Mehsud fighters, who make up the bulk of the Taliban’s manpower. The Taliban’s ruling council took seven days to reach a decision.

WASHINGTON—The White House heralded President Barack Obama’s phone call with Iranian counterpart Hasan Rouhani earlier this fall as a foreign-policy milestone born of a rush of last-minute diplomacy. But the historic conversation was more intricately choreographed than previously disclosed.
Top National Security Council officials began planting the seeds for such an exchange months earlier—holding a series of secret meetings and telephone calls and convening an assortment of Arab monarchs, Iranian exiles and former U.S. diplomats to clandestinely ferry messages between Washington and Tehran, according to current and former U.S., Middle Eastern and European officials briefed on the effort.

Mr. Obama had empowered the administration’s top Iran specialist, Puneet Talwar, for some time to have direct meetings and phone conversations with Iranian Foreign Ministry officials, those people say. Some of the contacts took place in Oman’s ancient capital, Muscat, U.S. and Middle Eastern officials say, which sits less than 200 miles across the Gulf’s azure waters from the Iranian coastline.

Mr. Talwar, an Indian-American steeped in Iran policy, has at times conveyed a succinct message for his Iranian interlocutors: The U.S. wants to peacefully resolve the dispute over Tehran’s nuclear program, according to these officials. The White House also reached out to Tehran through other senior Obama aides, including National Security Adviser Susan Rice, according to Iranian and U.S. officials briefed on the exchanges. At Mr. Obama’s direction, Ms. Rice had nurtured ties with her Iranian counterpart while serving from 2009-2013 as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, according to U.S. and Iranian officials, rekindling those connections for the September phone call between the Iranian and American leaders.

Todd was a vile jerk in his interview w/PBO, total lack of respect. All his questions were accusatory and framed negatively throughout as if this was a tryout for FOX News or hate radio. I have no idea how President Obama is able to maintain his calm and dignity in the face of such unnecessarily despicable questioning. You would think President Obama was the biggest criminal on the face of the earth by Todd’s line of questioning, instead of a president trying to bring decent health care coverage to all. Disgusting to the max.

Chuck Todd is a insecure young man who has a lot to learn about Respect. First of all he was granted an interview with the President of the United States. Those interviews do not come easily for anyone. However, because Chuck Todd has little respect for himself, he chose to show disrespect in his line of questionings to President Barack Obama. You have to have something worthwhile to bring to the table to give something worthwhile at the table. Chuck did not bring anything worthwhile because he is empty. However, President Obama brought, respect, dignity, honor, and the understanding of balancing Power with Respect.

I could see that even though President Obama is a man of honest reflections and total respect, he still was honorable enough to make an apology to people. How many people have actually lied on President Obama(Chuckie) and said all manner of evil against him along with their friends in the other party, but have not been man or woman enough to speak with honesty, respectfulness, and humble yet have power to ruin Americans lives by laws that they make or do not pass for the benefit of the good of the American people.

I will always have respect for President Obama because his core is full of the necessary goodness to keep him the honorable human being and president that he is and will continue to be. However, I will not say that for Chuck Todd and his likes. President Obama put himself front and center in that interview. He could have played the “Power, Bully President” that we have surely seen of others in that position, But he Did Not. Who is the better human being and man in this interview today? President Barack Obama.

As for Chuck Todd maybe he should give President Barack Obama and Apology on his show tomorrow so the world can hear and see it. Now that is my take on the “Disrespect for the office of the Presidency of the United States” who is presently held by the biracial young gentleman in the Oval Office. How offensive you were to my nostrils Chuck Todd. You just spoke with the President of the United States.

You are the scum of the earth, Chuck, so do not continue to try to look down on the President Barack Obama. You continue to be the craphead that you are Chuck and way out of your space in this universe. Guess who is still president, Chuck and who recognizes him all over this globe as being the most powerful person in the world, yet the most graceful, respectful, brilliant, and honorable man to hold that office. HZ
