Hey TOD peeps! Just back from D.C. for the Obamacare Summit on Monday. It was both a rally the troops event with OFA partner groups and a chance to be inspired by many great speakers culminating in our very own President Barack Obama’s exhortation to us to keep our eyes on the prize. Each one of us should reach out to help the uninsured and under-insured people we know sign up by phone or in person with a navigator or assister if they have any trouble with the website in their state marketplace. Deval Patrick told us that both the MA website and the roll-out in his state had a rocky start, but the difference was that a majority of Democrats and Republicans largely stuck together to solve the problem and protect the amazing system they put in place which now covers ~ 98% of the citizens of Massachusetts.
We can tamp down the fear and misinformation within our own spheres of influence to create a ripple effect that will get it to the enrollment numbers we need.

I was thrilled to be about to shake hands with President Obama after his fiery speech but missed him and Michelle by 10 minutes on our White House tour yesterday. My friend and I did get to see the adorable Bo and Sunny, though!

We the people will ignore the doomsayers and help get Obamacare launched so it can help people as intended!

I am going to be honest if I was taking the tour and I heard that POTUS and FLOTUS were there welcoming the people, I don’t know how I would act. I would try to be cool, I would keep saying to myself Lord don’t let met make a fool of myself, and I would pray Lord don’t let the S.S. have to come get me cause I won’t let POTUS and FLOTUS hands go.

    Amazing.

CNN and MSNBC are showing Christie’s news conference live but Fox isn’t.

When have major networks showed a Governor’s news conference live before ?

NSFW…It IS the Rude Pundit:) The Rude Pundit: Chris Christie Ain’t Shit

Ahhhh! A pundit after my own heart. This piece truly reflects my thoughts on the matter. I really felt almost no Dem was gonna beat Christie this year, for reasons I gave a few threads ago.

I love this analysis, it’s like he/she was reading my mind/post, lol:

You can read that two ways: the kind way is that Christie cuts across party lines and is the moderate Obama-hugging god everyone wants to worship today. The unkind way is that Chris Christie ain’t shit but an image, a cartoon character, a bulbous joke like a certain mayor of a certain Canadian city. He’s a myth (or a Republican bedtime story, as John Dickerson calls him – maybe Goodnight, Goon?), and a myth will always top reality. The only way Democrats were going to beat him was to offer an alternative myth. Buono is a fine politician, but you can’t take down the Hindenburg without a spark. In Jersey, that possibility dried up as soon as Cory Booker went Senate instead of Governor.

Or perhaps the other path was to puncture the myth. That was gonna take someone a fuck of a lot sharper than Buono to pop a yoga ball. Those things are thick. It’ll take, say, Hillary Clinton, a myth in her own right.

      [snip]

That’s Chris Christie, though. He ain’t shit but bluster and a tough guy pose. People will vote for such things when given no viable alternative. What the New Jersey election results actually prove is that people want higher wages enshrined in the constitution and they want a Democratic government. That ought to be the spin.

I still think Chrispie will crash and burn in any national race to which he aspires. The schtick is stale. And I still think the NJ Democratic party needs to be cleaned up and held accountable for their actions during this race.
