Lots of different celebrations that PBO gets ‘entangled’ in, yet he shows respect for each.

      Congrats VC on first!

I do admire our President. He has the compassion and desire to learn from everyone. He’s simply awesome.

        Thanks, GGail.

One of the joys of seeing PBO in action these past 5+ years is that he has been a very constant and visible model that many children, parents, young people, old people, whomever can refer to. For me his most (?) lasting impact will be the view he expressed in Grant Park the night of his first victory – he’s the president of those who didn’t vote for him as well as for those who did. I never quite thought of elections and victory in those terms before and I haven’t forgotten that approach since. His second most lasting [ I’m sure I could easily list 3 or so more. 😀 ] impact for me is the way he treats his opponents. I don’t remember the first time I realized that he always leaves the door slightly open for this opponents to do the right thing and save face. He doesn’t stand on their back and rub their face in the dirt, though he is man enough to speak truth to their faces. I absolutely, absolutely hold him in the highest esteem. After the first 2/3 years seeing him in action I came to the conclusion that there is NOTHING he could do that would make me turn from him – and I still feel that way today!

        Oh, yes, I agree he’s awesome! 😉

I was watching the video of POTUS and the marshmallow machine and how excited he truly was in launching that machine! Then to hear his exclamation – you just get caught up in his curiosity and excitement – it’s infectious. Then you realize….wait a minute….that’s the President of the United States! AWESOME!

Too Many Gems 😉 Blings for One Fine Lady…..Yes indeed.

The President seems a little tentative about wearing that.

I just see someone trying to figure out how to wear a garment that he’s not used to wearing. Not that he’s tentative about wearing.

I love how the President takes the time to acknowledge and celebrate many cultures that make this country the wonderful melting pot that it is.
I don’t recall seeing from this from other Presidents. It makes me so proud!

I agree with all of you on that, and I’ve realized this is one thing that drives his RWNJ opponents nuts. POTUS treats all with respect, so therefore he must not be an American! The White House celebrates a seder every year, Ramadan every year, now, Diwali…….how could he bring THOSE people in the White House! This is just one more mark against him with the certain types.
We view it as good…..and it is. He reminds me so much of my minister, who has respect for ALL people of every religion and color. Eventually, this attitude is going to have a positive effect on people. At least those under FOX viewing age…..whoops…..I’m in that demographic, so I shouldn’t paint all with the same brush.

Right in the middle of election day in NJ, Karen Finney or whatever the hell her name is on MSNBC is saying Barbara Buono is not an inspiring candidate, who didn’t “catch on” with voters, so unlike Karen’s favorite and old boss, Hillary Clinton. Way to go, Karen.

I’d like to make a prenaptual arrangement with y’all. Wake me when it’s ohvah! Off I go for a nap, sorry I turned on MSNBC because they definitely did not turn me on.

Risking to sound stupid but … what kind of elections are there today?

    • 45 Linda
      November 5, 2013 at 4:37 pm

2 Governors….some State attorney generals and lots and lots of mayors and other local ones like school boards and so on.

All kinds of local elections. Gov of NJ, VA.

Niliathiel, that is not a stupid question. It says that like me, in Southern California, there are no elections today in your part of the world. So if I wasn’t a TOD junkie, who is on here every day, peeping in on just about every thread, I wouldn’t know about these important elections that are going on in our Country – elections that will affect all of us in the long run.

    Sometimes, a name isn’t just a name.

Over at Mediaite, I read Don Lemon’s latest diatribe.

My only conclusion is: Don is A Lemon. Like a broken car, salvaging this Lemon is worthless. That is all.

So Toronto’s Rob Ford is adamant and he has no plans to resign. He wants voters to decide on Oct 2014. Wow. The audacity of this man is beyond entitlement. His ego is sky high.

    • November 5, 2013 at 5:38 pm

It’s totally absurd that he isn’t required to step down. It isn’t just this video of him smoking crack, there were a couple of other serious crimes (including murder) surrounding the people in the video, and so many other examples of very questionable and downright bad decisions prior to the video debacle. A lot of Torontonians voted for that guy, and many still support him. I lived in Toronto for decades, and though I like the place, I’m happy I’m no longer living there. 🙂

I live very close to this Temple…it is beautiful………Sunday night I could hear the fireworks …They imported all the materials as well as the workers when it was being built….The opening had a wonderful parade with elephants

I made it through lunch. I didn’t poison him but I had to resist poking him to death with my fork. Anyway, I can’t stick around but want to comment on:

The filibuster: I just don’t get the Democrats and this concern they may eventually be in the minority. If that happens, the Republicans will change the rules in a New York minute and not leave the Democrats with so much as a fig leaf.

Buono: The Democrats never gave her the necessary support. The idea that they are propping up Christie is disgusting to me. They allowed him to get way ahead of them. He should never have been allowed to advance a positive image without Democrats keeping his record front and center.

Obamacare: The President just needs to admit he keeps forgetting that Americans are stupid, the media is worthless and Republicans are evil. As for the nervous nelly Democrats who are beginning to doubt the viability of OCare…they are disgusting. They should be stomping for it’s success.

One last thing before I go. I saw Chris Matthews for the first time in a long time yesterday. He has lost his mind. He was absolutely rude.

      Be back.

Let’s see if the sorry ass media report this good news. I’m betting they won’t, because they are loving reporting lies and half truths because they don’t like the President.

By the way, Gloria Borger said the President has a credibility problem. I email her over there at TeaNN and told her that the ones spreading lies and half truths is her and that low rating network of hers. So the one with the credibility problem is TeaNN.

Marriage Equality passed the Illinois House!!!!!!!!

  22. 71 Linda

A historic vote Tuesday in the Illinois House positioned that state to become the largest in the heartland to legalize gay marriage, following months of arduous lobbying efforts by both sides in President Barack Obama’s home state.

Lawmakers voted 61-54 to send the measure back to the Senate to change the bill’s effective date, just a technical change since the chamber already approved the measure in February. The measure will then head to Gov. Pat Quinn, who has pledged to sign it into the law.

Love this photo. Says a lot. We have the most beautiful President and First Lady, exemplary in all ways. I get so mad at all the pointless, despicable junk thrown all about while they have served us so well.

  24. November 5, 2013 at 5:39 pm

Just an FYI for all you fine folks.

If you get followed by someone named “An Angry Democrat”—@angryvoters—just go straight to blocking. He’s angry all right—at Obama and other Democrats.
