57, I think the strategy is for the Senate to pile up all the bills that people want and need on the doorstep of the House to make it easier for Democratic challengers in 2014. Start running ads in 2014 and lay all the blame at the House door. If you want to get anything done, vote Democratic.

Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy!

LL you can expect the usual personal insults hurled at the reality based world that Greenwald specializes in whenever he can’t answer a question or has his fact challenged breathless new bulletins blow up in his face.

GG is incapable of coherent thoughts.

Also, DerBingle, I think GG would be hurled out of Brazil in a nanosecond if he criticized their government. He knows that they would be unmerciful compared to the US. GG has been able to hurl his grenades from the safety of his Brazilian compound. Unless he joins his bud, Snowden, in Russia, he doesn’t really have a place to go. Live int he US? I think he already burned that bridge.

Of course I’ll have an essay to write about this, now that I’m feeling human again. Probably won’t be able to write it until I get home tonight. Working title: “Yes Glenn, Dilma DOES spy.”

  8. November 4, 2013 at 4:01 pm

Good afternoon Chips, TOD. Thanks for highlighting this fraud, LL! …..congrats on first 57, it is a rare feat this days to win Gold in these 100m sprints!

So Dilma, who canceled her chance at a U.S. State dinner because we “spied” on her government….is now shown to be spying on our diplomats!!! Hmmmmmm………karma bites, Dilma, and you missed a chance at a wonderful event. Ha, ha, ha!!!
In fact…….everyone who got their knickers in a twist have been shown to be spying…..who’s surprised???!!!

      November 4, 2013 at 4:16 pm

I don’t think that was the reason that she canceled. The US media made it seem that way because they wanted to make PBO look bad, but there is a lot about this that we probably were not told. I suspect the reason had more to do with Dilma’s own problems in her home country….

Under a strategy championed by Obama’s senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer, the White House has doubled its footprint on Twitter since July, giving official accounts on the social media web site to more than a dozen additional communications staffers. The White House’s Twitter army is the lead player in an intense war of messaging on social media in Washington, a conflict that also involves a range of lawmakers, bureaucrats, conservatives and liberals.
Virtually every day, the White House is the focus of Twitter barbs from conservative groups such as the Heritage Foundation, online personalities such as Erick Erickson of RedState.com and Republican staffers such as Brendan Buck, a spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner.

But the White House operation stands alone in its aggressiveness, analysts say.

“You never find an organization that is collectively this good at Twitter,” said Peter LaMotte, head of digital communications practice at Levick, who advises major corporations on using social media.

Just wondering: In addition to the not voting thing, does this mean the GOP are trying to discourage women from taking their husbands’ names? Maybe that’s the real goal… hmmmm!

      • November 4, 2013 at 4:41 pm

I think I’ve mentioned my former coworker before. This was back in the late 90s, and somehow I became friendly with a complete RWNJ. (After he got fired from that company, we mercifully lost touch.)

One of the bosses got married, and she kept her maiden name. This lovely gentleman was INCENSED that she didn’t take her husband’s name, and implied that the husband wasn’t a real man.

The thing about my coworker was this, however: he was completely under his mother’s thumb, doing everything she told him to do to the letter. So, yeah, he had female issues.

…..Even so, Barrette’s take is a reminder that people can have a longer-view perspective about medical bills than pundits frequently assume. When I gave her a broad description of the plans available, she seemed interested. I noted that she’d be paying $100 or $150 extra a month for policies that still had high cost-sharing, so that she would still be a lot of money out of her own pocket. (I also made very clear that I’m not an insurance agent or broker—that, when she finally goes shopping for insurance, she should talk to a real expert for advice.) Here was her response: “I would jump at it,” she said. “With my age, things can happen. I don’t want to have bills that could make me bankrupt. I don’t want to lose my house.”

I can’t get this video out of my head. Darn you, you fabulously talented Kerry Washington! 😀

p.s. She helped SNL get their highest ratings since Justin Timberlake. YAY! Go Kerry!

Since the early 1980s, I have respected Charlie Cook of the Cook Report until yesterday. On 11-03013 he was on C-SPAN Journal and was projecting 2014 congressional map. MT and MN he was saying bat poop nonsense. He had GOPers doing well. MT has the Dem Lt Gov who would be running for the senate. MN he said that Franken is not yet a firm win…….my words. In both analysis he was wrong. He provided No data. He had others in GA and KY, etc. In everyone he leaned TBGOPers. At the end of his appearance, he said that his late father was a GOPer. That finally dawned on me that he has always been a GOPer Using “independent” as a cover. I called his office today. I was firm and articulate. I challenged his premises. I told his office that he was a GOPer Masquerading as an Independent and as one who studied Political Science, Mr Cook was no loner someone I would ever in the future find his work worthy. They dismissed my conclusion. The guy tried to cover for Charlie Cook. He failed.

202-789-8525 The Cook Political Report is a partisan enterprise, period.

My rant for today. Sorry TOD.

They are interfering in our local school board election here in Douglas County Colorado. Our public schools were some of the finest in the country. Our county is very Republican. The Kochs and others have come in and taken over our school board. They have pushed vouchers, and taken away any power the teachers’ union had. Now a horrible Pay For Performance standard has been pushed in before it is even developed. All this from outside money. We will see if they succeed tomorrow.

This weekend we visited our son and family in Dallas. Marie….wonderful d-I-l talked about this new voting restriction. She understood that if your voter ID and one form of picture ID, like your driver’s license agreed, you were okay. She checked….her voter ID and driver’s license are identical. They just use her correct first, second name and present married name. There’s no indication she was ever married before, or single. She thought this is enough…..I just wrote her and implored her to check the law, and also referenced the Wendy Davis tweet…..Now, if those two identical documents are not enough to vote, there is really something rotten…..even more than I thought….in the state of Texas.
I read that Jim Wright had an out of date faculty ID card and his voter ID….the out of date faculty ID would not work. HOWEVER, if that had been a gun permit, it would have been acceptable.
Those men are obviously scared to death of women voters.

A woman in the town of Craigsville, Va. made a costume for her 7-year-old son to dress as a member of the Ku Klux Klan for Halloween.

The boy’s costume drew the attention of a local news station, WHSV, after pictures of it were posted on Facebook. In an interview with WHSV posted online Monday the woman, Jessica Black, said her son was not the first member of her family to wear a klansman costume.

“My brother has when he was in Kindergarten and when he was 13,” Black said.

Black also defended the practices of the Klan in general.

Now this a Mother from another Era. How come a mother in 2013 do something like this to a 7 yrs old.
