In the 1980s….there was a song….You don’t have to take your clothes off. I don’t remember the singer. A one hit wonder, no doubt. When I saw Jon Karl getting pointy, animated and raising his voice……for some weird reason, that was the song that popped into my head. It has remained there since this afternoon.
Oh Lord, no. That is the song. We made fun of it. The singer was not that good, not particularly a great dancer, trying so hard to get noticed and be seen as the IT. More like Jon Karl at the WHPC event today……..trying so hard.
Well, Prince Rogers Nelson was it for me. I saw him 3 times and the band member that wore surgical outfit was two houses away from a relative’s home.
Thanks Dudette. This song will be in my head all week. π

The sad thing is that many who suffer will blame the President.
It never ceases to amaze me how there is so much attention to the President while the party that controls the House ,hence “the purse”, is IN REALITY in control of the general domestic agenda.
If the shutdown has had any positive effect, it’s that at least SOME independents and some republicans are very well aware now of WHO is gumming up the works and WHO is for austerity.
Does anyone know what happened on that ENDA cloture vote? It took forever, and Murkowski didn’t vote. Worse than that, neither did McCaskill! At one point, they had the sound on and I heard loud voices. At the end, they got enough, plus 1, but it seems something happened to muck things up. They ended up getting Ayotte to vote yes and Portman. I want to see Mark Kirk’s speech from the floor (his first since his stroke). This yes vote obviously meant a lot to him.
Thanks. I’m glad to know this. I mean, not that she was at a funeral, but that the House gops won’t have her non-vote as a reason to point fingers (not that they need one).
I know it’s Politico, but this article explains how they got Ayotte, Portman and Toomey (through amendments). The article also states that President Obama doesn’t rule out an executive order to protect federal contractors from anti-gay discrimination, although he prefers it be legislated. And the article spoke of Mark Kirk’s speech. I don’t mind Politico when they stick to facts, and this was an informative one.
On the way to what polls indicate will be a landslide reelection victory Tuesday over Democrat Barbara Buono, the Republican governor is touting bipartisanship by spending more time with Democrats than with politicians of his own party.
“It’s been several years he’s been working on these relationships,” said Ben Dworkin, a Rider University political scientist.
Over his first term Christie has sidled up to members of the state’s powerful Democratic establishment with unprecedented ardor – and they to him.

don’t blame ANY dems anywhere. THE “NEWS” MEDIA is the problem….everywhere. no republican could get away wit what they do without “the news” providing the cover for their lies and constant failure everywhere they are.
That’s NUTS. NUTS. Have those guys paid any attention to Christie’s POLICIES ???? to his VETOES ?
I can understand that rank and file democrats who don’t pay attention to politics and who are misinformed by the shallow and stupid media can be fooled by the populism style of Christie. What I don’t understand is when democratic ELECTED OFFICIALS fall into the Christie’s trap. Are those guys old members of the DLC ? And if so, have Bill and Hillary Clinton tempted something to wake them up and stop them from making Christie a national star ??!!!
Folks, I’m concerned to tell you the truth. I’m far from convinced that Hillary, with all the Clinton “baggage” can be a strong candidate against Christie. Low-info voters will be tempted to go for “change”.
I really hope Ted Cruz and his gang of purists screw up the nomination process in the republican party. I really do.
The U.S. joined a whistle-blower lawsuit against the firm whose background checks helped National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden and Washington Navy Yard shooter Aaron Alexis get security clearances.
United States Investigations Services LLC is accused in the complaint in federal court in Montgomery, Alabama, of failing to perform quality control reviews in connection with its background investigations for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.
From January 2010 through January 2011, Falls Church, Virginia-based USIS used proprietary software to automatically release to OPM incomplete background investigations, according to the complaint.

So in honor of our President’s 5th anniversary of winning an historic election, I was browsing some YouTube videos of that night, and I also ended up looking at some videos from the 2012 election victory as well. However, I happened to also click on another video which featured a young Romney supporter who was disappointed that night. By the end of the video I was laughing and crying….the level of brainwashing is just unbelievable…see if you can go thru this entire video without flinching – I DARE you…
Charlie Crist is going to have to do some rebuilding with the Black Community in FL. In 2010, with Crist and Meek….the former Rep. That created the fight that allowed Marco Rubio to be elected in 2010. Alex Sink was to have won, but she took a call or a text message, that was exploited by Rick Scott. This gave that man the gov.
Democrats continue to maintain a six-point lead over Republicans on the latest Generic Congressional Ballot for the week ending Sunday, November 3.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 43% of Likely U.S. Voters would vote for the Democrat in their districtβs congressional race if the election were held today, while 37% would choose the Republican instead.
OOOOooooooo……..Daughters Zindzi and Zenani Mandela and Idris Elba and Naomie Harris will be present at the White House on Thursday when PBO Obama screens the new film, Mandala.
Dr Maddow went after the VA gov in VA. That cost him VP selection by Romney due to his utravaginal probe law.
She went after Voter suppression since early 2011. She called attention to Rand Paul in 2010…with his comments on VRA. Matthews sunk the election of Conway to the senate by going so hard on him. Conway was accused of attacking Rand Paul’s religion and Paul used to video to win in KY.
She has been pointing out Paul’s Plagiarism. Now Buzzfeed, Politico, etc are on it.
How I wished she had gone after Christie. Had Keith Olberman still been on MSNBC, he would have.
If she went after Christie, other media wouldn’t follow. Corporate media won’t have any problem going after the far-right candidates like RAnd Paul and Ted Cruz. The media and their friends in the GOP establishment will do everything in their power to prevent a civil war within the GOP, and are hoping Christie will unite all republicans behind him.
I was under the impression that Your B’Day is tomorrow….in 4 hrs and 3 minutes. But in your neck of the woods, you have been “Birthdaying” for hours now.

Nevertheless, Brazilβs president Dilma Rousseff not only condemned the U.S. before the United Nations, but she also canceled her state visit to the White House in protest of NSA eavesdropping, thus amplifying the badly lop-sided and misleading reporting of Greenwald and others.
With each of these stories, it becomes increasingly clear that certain reporters, including and especially Glenn Greenwald (who has become a minor hero in Brazil, by the way) are seeking to unilaterally cripple the U.S.βs ability to operate on the world stage β to make sure the U.S. as well as the U.K. are unable to do what most other industrialized nations are doing.
