Yes, watching now, Nena20409. This has to stop. We will continue to push with our two great senators to revisit the gun bill. We are blessed to have Diane Feinstein and Barbara Boxer. I am working with my local group to get a Congressman out who is supported by the money opposition and their agenda that will not move us in a good and decent peaceful place. A young man is working very hard to get the seat. I hope he will be very successful. I have pledge my time and work with his campaign. This is a heavy republican city, and many have bought into the money based garbage that is taking over so many campaign. But we are giving this young man good support. HZ

great. save this one since we know his “news” venture will be filled with liberal and obama-hate, and we can refer back to this guy’s tweet to remember why. cato institute is largely funded by koch brothers, and this new “news” owner has already noted obama-hater glen greenwald, so we all know where this is going.

This SNAP cut is hurting tons of people. GOP is just ugly.

I was at a Halloween Event for kids I work with last evening. One of the other workers told me that a woman who could have taken 2 kids in her home (because their mom was just incarcerated) to avoid them going into the system, was deciding against helping, because her food stamps was being cut and she could not afford to feed another mouth.

These are two children she could potentially save from going into foster care and who could face the likelihood of being bounced from place to place.

Republicans in congress truly are conscienceless. A lot of them are millionaires and are wrecking peoples lives. These bills and cuts aren’t abstract. They affect men, women, and children.

A good friend of my wife just lost her husband to complications related to cancer. Before he died he spent months in critical care followed by nursing care and further hospitalizations. Bills are over a million dollars. Thanks to Obamacare and no lifetime limits they got coverage through this whole ordeal. She lost her beloved spouse but she still has health care coverage and doesn’t face medical bankruptcy.

Bitter-sweet story. But I am so glad to hear that she does not have the additional angst of facing medical bankruptcy, thanks to Obamacare. The very policy that GOP/MSM trying desperately to derail. What a despicable bunch.

      Thanks for sharing, Bill.

HF2……the story was TKO’ed in 2012 by Jay many times at the WHPC events and by POTUS when asked.

Distraction is what Mark H and his BFF John H are doing. Gossip Girls……though, I have never seen the show nor do I have any clue as to what it is about. Just the Title is all I am borrow………. ;)……Not to plagiarize like Rand Paul 🙄

Yup I do recall back in 2012 there had been some silly rumors going on. Goldie Taylor is on Twitter claiming to have “sources” but cannot cite or name any, and she expects people to be okay with that (Which I’m NOT). So I’m going to go with Plouffe and Axelrod, whom I believe to be far more credible than any “source” at this point.

It was Bill Daley’s idea. It Never made it to POTUS and those running the Campaign TKO’ed it then. Bill Daley ONLY lasted a yr in his job as Chief of Staff. Today BD has said that the idea would have been laughed off by POTUS. Meaning he is the Lone source and as a Clintonite…..he was pardon my FRENCH 😉 ….pimping that gossip.

Once again, that is not what I’m hearing and I’m watching it live on our local KTLA station.

Yes, one person has died, but the FBI and other authorities are NOT saying whether the person is civilian or TSA employee. There is a lot of speculation, but I haven’t heard anything definite – because the Mayor, the Police Chief, and the FBI agent said that they didn’t want to give incorrect information.

I know hopefruit. It’s so frustrating – we have the on-the ground reporters speculating, the on-air anchors speculating. One person interviewed said the shooter had on army khakis, another said he had on a blue shirt like the TSA wear and no khakis.

Very important what David Brock is demanding CBS do. The full letter:

      Mr. Jeff Fager

      Chairman, CBS News

      Mr. David Rhodes

      President, CBS News

I am writing to express my concern about a 60 Minutes segment on the attacks on U.S. diplomatic facilities in Benghazi that CBS aired on October 27. As Media Matters for America noted earlier in the week, the segment revived long-answered questions about the attack and, even more troubling, a Fox News correspondent said that he had spoken to one of the witnesses interviewed “a number of times” about the attacks but stopped after the man “asked for money.”

Today, The Washington Post revealed that the very same witness previously said he never got near the diplomatic compound the night of the attack. This completely contradicts what was reported on air by correspondent Lara Logan, who said that during the attack, the witness “scaled the twelve-foot high wall of the compound that was still overrun with al Qaeda fighters.” In the interview, the witness told Logan he had personally struck one of those terrorists in the face with his rifle butt and, following the attack, he went to the Benghazi hospital and saw Ambassador Chris Stevens’ body.

According to Post, the witness revealed none of those details in the incident report he wrote following the attack. Instead, he said that he spent most of that night at his Benghazi beach-side villa and learned of Stevens’ death from a colleague. This paints a damning picture of the credibility of the supposed eyewitness — and thus of the CBS report itself.

A network spokesman told the Post, ‘We stand firmly by the story we broadcast last Sunday.” This is not sufficient. When questions were raised about documents involving President George W. Bush’s service in the Air National Guard, CBS appointed an independent panel “to help determine what errors occurred in the preparation of the report and what actions need to be taken.” Similar standards must be applied in this case.

The 60 Minutes story should be immediately retracted and an independent investigative committee needs to probe all aspects of how the story was reported and get answers to the following questions:

      Were witnesses paid to talk?
Did anyone bother to compare the witness’ story to the written report he filed at the time?
If the network was aware of the incident report, why did no one acknowledge the discrepancy in the witness’ story?
Who worked on the story at all levels?
How was the story vetted and by whom?

The committee’s findings should be public to and, if necessary, appropriate disciplinary action should take place.

In my most recent book, The Benghazi Hoax, I chronicled how the media has, for over a year, twisted the facts about what happened the night of the attacks. CBS’ report was a new low. I hope you take this opportunity to reassure your viewers of your standards and accountability.

      David Brock

      Chairman, Media Matters for America

Notice the phrase : “anyone who mattered.” That phrase tells you how low on the food chain whatever “sources” these authors talked to were. Anybody can speculate and make up stories, and so-called journalists of the reputation of these two authors should have checked, checked, checked, verified with real sources. Whoever they talked to obviously were outliers and wannabes. These guys should have known better, but they wanted a 24 hour news cycle on their “revelations,” and of course, sales.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Police say 3 shot, including TSA agent, by gunman with semi-automatic weapon at LAX.

    Good West coast afternoon, Obots.

The latest that our local news is reporting is that the gunman was an off-duty TSA employee.

Our journalists really are stupid. One of the first questions at the presser was “Why is the FBI in charge?” Jesus. I’m a civilian, and *I* know that all airports fall under Federal jurisdiction. This isn’t exactly some secret, esoteric fact.

Also, what ‘government’ is Snowden talking about? It can’t be the US since I seem to remember that he pledged some kind of allegiance to the Russian flag and was very cosy with his hero, Putin. He sold his soul and made his bed in a cold, cold police state. Too bad, so sad, Eddie. You chose it, you deal with it. If he’s still delusional enough to think he’s a ‘dissenter,’ rather than a traitor, well that’s his problem. Maybe Russia has good mental health insurance, but I somehow doubt it.

This is a candidate that I hope we all support. Here is a snippet of the article…

Thigpen, an Army veteran who received a Purple Heart, is not impressed with his past party’s efforts to steal the right to vote from Democrats, “I didn’t go to war to defend the liberties and freedoms of one Party, race, sex, or one income class of Americans. Whether white, black, Hispanic, Asian, man, woman, gay, lesbian, straight, rich, or poor – we fought together as equals, side-by-side for the benefit of every American in the same. So, to come home from serving our country and see North Carolina legislators using their super-majority status to gerrymander districts and pass a law to deliberately suppress and oppress the voting rights of Democrats but more specifically minorities and college students, is absolutely deplorable.”

Thigpen observed unhappily his party’s attempts to use unrelated bills to restrict women’s access to abortions and then at the same time deny food and healthcare to babies. He is not impressed with the lack of Christian values evinced in such deplorable behavior.

The final straw was the Republican shutdown, which Thigpen notes was “real patriotic”. He said, “Shutting down the government was seemingly easy for our elected Representatives, as they’re not adversely affected with their pay being protected by the Constitution. They were some real patriots though, huh? These so called Representatives sat around in Washington playing chicken with their constituent’s lives all while patting each other on the back saying ‘great job.’ Yeah that’s real patriotic all right.”

Sec. Hagel is threatening further action if the nine southern states continue to discriminate against same sex couples. I can’t wait to see his response because one of the reasons we have all this illegal activity…discrimination, voting rights, etc. is because the federal authorities won’t use their leverage to properly pressure dissenters. Withdraw federal financial support and see what happens. Some of those little hick towns only exist because of a military base.

    Think Progress has it right.

Why no one should read Mark H. and John H. new book

The authors of “Double Down” — Mark Halperin and John Heilemann — have found a way to exploit this phenomena for fun and profit. They seek out disaffected campaign staffers and consultants and provide an anonymous conduit for them to spin their preferred version of what transpired. This creates a prisoner’s dilemma for those who might not ordinarily be inclined to speak to Halperin and Heilemann. If they don’t cooperate, their critics might be the only people who shape the narrative of the campaign. By playing different factions within campaigns against it each other, Heilemann and Halperin get a lot of folks to talk. Interviews are conducted on “deep background” and the books contain “no source notes.”
This has been an extremely lucrative exercise for the authors. Their first book on the 2008 campaign, “Game Change,” was a bestseller and optioned into an HBO movie. Halperin and Heilemann received an advance for “Double Down” that exceeded $5 million.
