…..Thus began several references, each more painful than the last, to Oz, Kansas, following the yellow brick road, pulling back the curtain, the wonderful things the Wizard does โ€” and, for good measure, something about Chicken Little, although he did not appear in the 1939 classic. And, sure enough, the Republicans on the House Energy and Commerce Committee went after Sebelius like so many flying monkeys. But โ€” spoiler alert! โ€” the film doesnโ€™t turn out well for Dorothyโ€™s persecutors, and the hearing, likewise, didnโ€™t turn out to be the humiliation for Sebelius that Republicans had in mind. Dorothy melted the Wicked Witch with a bucket of water; Sebelius doused her questioners with an unexpected and extended confession of responsibility…..

The chart portrays the degree to which Republicans(News orgs) and critics of Obamacare have amplified the media’s coverage around the relatively small percentage of Americans who have received cancellation notices for stripped-down individual market plans that failed to meet the benefit requirements of the ACA.

For the idiots in the media: The Health Insurance Lobby, who tried to kill the ACA initially, have actual guidelines for what constitutes redeemable policies. Maybe try getting some facts before printing/reporting on-air about fake Obamacare scare stories

    Back to Bobfr …

We need a TOD campaign to bring intense pressure on Senator Reid to do the deed – #NukeTheFilibuster

No excuse not to. If the GOP ever regain control of the Senate it will be the FIRST thing they do. Any doubt, look at what Boehner and Cantor did to House Rules on 1 Oct 2013 that enabled them to shutter the government and do mega-harm.

I remember that feeling, dodging the little ones! Glad you made it.

Last year, we had a gazillion munchins visit on our street. This year? Not so much.

It rained all day and night here, so there were only three knocks on the door and six trick or treaters, total (that sounded like Mark Knoller’s counting). My son lives several houses away, and he called me TWICE to ask, “Did you get any more kids?” – like I was keeping my kids away from his house – Ha.

^^^ THIS was my excuse for eating all the chocolate candy I did tonight. It might have melted, otherwise.

But, perfection, granddaughter in Florida kept calling us about what my great grandson was doing and saying, trick or treating as Buzz Lightyear, and he told us all about it when he got home. Sweet!

โ€œWithin the next three weeks, the Senate is expected to vote on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, or ENDA, which would provide basic protections from employment discrimination to the nationโ€™s 8 million lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender, or LGBT, workers. ENDA builds upon an enduring American value that workers should be judged on their merits and not their identity. It is past time for Congress to ensure basic fairness for every American, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.โ€

There were a lot of lowlights yesterday when Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius testified before the House Energy and Commerce Committee, but this from Rep. Renee Ellmers, R-N.C., starting at 1:50, is where the sky officially went black. (Video in link)

        • November 1, 2013 at 12:12 am

I have been reading negative info here about Ezra Klein and Steve Kornacky for awhile. The accusations were a little hard to believe from remembering their reporting from a couple of years ago, but I am in agreement with those here so I assumed it was correct. I am not watching many MSNBC shows these days since they are getting close to being as bad as FOX by being negative and only caring about being first instead of correct. I had my tv on that station and accidentally heard Steve Kornacky lamblast PBO and the ACA tizzy including the new lower poll numbers. It sickened me and I immediately turned my tv off. Thanks to all of you that are combatting that kind of reporting. I do not intend to give either of them any ratings.

Beyond democracy is this one – where is the media supporting the veterans? They were so keen to demand access to a memorial – but don’t care about access to food. This is where hate is taking what used to be a country that cared.

I was watching Hardball this evening and Matthews were talking about Ted Cruz’s father and some of the things he have said about President Obama. Now remember Cruz’s father claim to be a preacher, and the senior Cruz said that Barack Obama refuse to say the words “under God”. Well Matthews showed several videos of Barack Obama saying “under God”, so doesn’t that make the preacher Cruz a liar.

It’s all so very disgusting. Not one week goes by when Republicans are not obstructing in some way. Make it stop.

    • October 31, 2013 at 11:52 pm

The GOP legislators know blocking judges the Dem Prez picks and stalling leaving the positions open could mean if a GOP Prez gets in they can get a GOP judge there. We all know what it is like having a majority of GOPs on the Supreme Court. Look at the Republican run states like TX and what harm the Conservative Bench just did there.

How much do I hate the GOP and the MSM that allows the plutocrats in this society to run amuck, without the hint of accountabililty?

“Much has already been said about the farm bill going through Congress. Itโ€™s bloated, it redistributes money from taxpayers to relatively wealthy farmers, it hurts young farmers by artificially inflating the price of land, it ends direct payments but substitutes another kind of subsidy, and so on and so forth. But thereโ€™s always more: For instance, the replacement of direct payments with a new crop-insurance subsidy will prevent the names of many members of Congress who get farm payments from being publicly disclosed.”

So, of course, MTP has R-money on this weekend. R-money whose most famous skill is tax evasion, who hasn’t held public office in nearly a decade. (posted earlier today, but this article has me steamed:)

Michelle Malkin here, checking in after watching that Evil Thug Witchy Witch “Kathy” Sebellius try to force the” Obnoxious Breath-takingly Awful Malicious Atrocious Cruel Absolutelty Rotten Enraging” ObummerCare down our throats. ThIs Servant of the Anti-Christ has the gall to make insurers ACTUALLY PAY OUT MONEY FOR ACTUAL CARE!!!!! Did yo know that some people are actually having to move from their cozy middle class homes into hovels because of their exhorbitant payments now? Depriving them of the zest and adventure that comes from wondering if they will lose that house trying to keep a loved one alive! I’m sorry, I just can’t go on. It’s too, too unspeakable!!!!

It was so vicious it was beyond parody – although I kept starting to laugh at the ridiculousness of it – how anyone could pay attention to that is beyond me. I have to go take a bath now – pat on some disinfectant – and run my brain through the bleach cycle now.
