Ya got yourself a real savant there, Chips. Of course you know what they say about savants – brilliant in one field and dismal in the ‘everyday’ tasks.

“GOP Complaints over Jeh Johnson Crumble Under Scrutiny”

By Steve Benen 10/21/13 05:00 PM

    http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/jeh-johnson-criticisms-already-crumbling

    —–

It’s been a few days since President Obama introduced former Pentagon General Counsel Jeh Johnson as the White House’s choice to lead to the Department of Homeland Security, and the Republican line of criticism is coming into focus: Johnson has donated to Democrats.

It seems like a pretty weak pitch, but Sens. John Cornyn (R-Texas) and Jeff Session (R-Ala.), who’ve apparently taken the lead in opposing Johnson’s nomination, have both gone after the DHS nominee for having financially supported Democratic candidates, including the president, in recent years.

The good news is, the criticism is not made up – Johnson, as Fox News first reported on Friday, has “contributed more than $100,000 to Democratic candidates and groups” over the past decade.

…but there is the question of a rather brazen double standard….Tom Ridge, the first Secretary of Homeland Security, “raised at least $251,550” as a fundraising bundler for Bush’s 2000 campaign, according to a 2003 New York Times investigation …Michael Chertoff, the second DHS secretary nominated by Bush, [who also got confirmation votes from Cornyn and Sessions] gave thousands of dollars in direct donations to Republicans, including Bush, in the years before his nomination.

“Koch Brothers Eye States, not Congress, for Health Care Goals”

By Steve Benen 10/21/13 12:40 PM

    —–

About two weeks ago, with the government shutdown still going strong, the Koch brothers’ company sent a letter to Congress, making clear that Koch Industries is not on board with the idea of tying the Affordable Care Act to the government shutdown. It was, at the time, evidence of a Republican operation losing friends in a hurry.

It was not, however, proof of Charles and David Koch losing their appetite for undermining “Obamacare.” On the contrary, there’s ample evidence that the Kochs are financing the very organizations waging a crusade against the health care law and demanding Republican policymakers keep up the fight.

What’s more, let’s also not forget that Koch brothers’ attention is not limited to Congress.

Americans for Prosperity’s president boasted about his group’s “trench warfare” against the health care law, which in this case means pushing Virginia to reject Medicaid expansion, which in turn would keep 400,000 Virginians from having access to basic care….In other words, the Kochs can tell Congress about their indifference to the Republican “defund” strategy, perhaps because they considered it a poor plan, but also because the conservative billionaires can focus their energies on state capitols, where it’s easier to stop struggling families from having health care coverage.

Cheyenne is a puppy. I’m sure your other dog had that kind of energy as a puppy. It will pass.

Exercise is the best ‘medicine’ for extra energy.

It takes time to train a puppy to your household. Jovie good luck. There is a new jacket you can buy for a dog that is supposed to keep them calm. We have a puppy here in our building and he is just so busy and yappy, she finally got one of those jackets. I don’t know if she leaves it on all the time, but I know by Niece bought one for her dog and helped immensely. Patience is the key word. (((hugs))) you will be fine, it takes time.

    I know this is HuffPuff…but I like Sam Stein……

Inside The Meeting Where Obama And Reid Vowed Not To Be ‘Taken In By These Crazy People’

WASHINGTON — Barack Obama and Harry Reid needed to clear the air. The relationship between the president and the Senate majority leader had been deteriorating since 2011, with Reid losing respect for Obama’s ability to negotiate with Republicans and Obama unsure if Reid had as much control over his Senate Democratic caucus as he liked to say.

So at the White House’s invitation, the two met in the Oval Office on July 9, with no staff, to talk one on one. It was a cathartic moment, one in which long-buried tensions were fully aired. Aides to the two men tell a similar story: Their boss had been losing confidence in his counterpart and wanted the meeting as a way to buck up the other.

I would be a little skeptical of anything coming out of Sam Stein or HP. There has been contentious relationships with every President & the congress. I Think what this President is trying to do make Congress be responsible for their actions and not put all the blame on the President. They have major roles to play, legislatively. Our President has been out their all the time expressing his views on how to go forward in our country to get us back into a leading role in domestic & foreign policy. Reid needs to get rid of some of the filibuster rules. That more than anything I am sure is the problem if there really was any.

Happy Tuesday!! Chips, you’re raising that youngin’ right! Danny knows how things are done right! Good job newest blog tyrant, Danny O’Chips:)

I have some catching up to do, but looks like all the RWNJ’S need to keep talking because the hole they’re digging is getting deeper and deeper! People are waking up to the giant screwing they’ve been getting all these years….probably feeling a little embarrassed they got suckered all these years….. doesn’t matter as long as the majority of Americans figure this out by the midterms and we can all return to normal and the rest of the loons can be thrown in the dustbin of history. FOREVER.

Going to be a lovely day here today…90/ sunny…..enjoy YOUR day everyone!!

The jobs numbers are good, but the media will only focus on the 181K figure that economists had predicted, and NOTHING else. But they won’t say a peep about the GOP’s constant manufactured crisis after crisis, or their refusal to pass any of PBO’s jobs bills. Nor will the MSM take the private corporations to task for sitting on hoards of cash, hiring the bare minimum, just to “hurt Obama.”

Can we please get on to the next shiny object? This one has passed its sell by date. Surely there’s something that the media can feed us. Nothing too catastrophic, but maybe a teaser like, oh….I don’t know, PBO has a hang nail and it will threaten his re-election chances.

He definitely needs a stylus with those big paws and nails. Was he the runt of the litter? Our little runt was really the bruiser. Are you getting any sleep Chips? Have fun.
