Thanks ObamaCare

…..Lastly, there is an argument that Obamacare disproportionately helps older people because healthy young people who pay slightly higher premiums subsidize them. Irrespective of the fact that this is how health insurance has always worked, boycotting a system because a segment of the population other than yourself will also be better off under a policy is in no way a credible reason to invalidate it. But even more importantly, you won’t be young and healthy forever. Health circumstances can change at a moment’s notice, and your age circumstance definitely will. You may or may not get sicker. But you will definitely get older. Do not be so myopic to think otherwise.

Just deposited this at bottom of last post, but since I just noticed the ghastly ghoulish Fred Thompson has tweeted a couple of anti-Obamacare lies, I’ll add this back here:

Maybe it’s an odd word to use, but I really ENJOY reading these health stories. Above and beyond the griping of the nay-sayers people are reaching out for what they need. Utal, thanks for the regular reminders that there are real people out there reaching out AND getting real answers to their various health concerns!

The United Nations Climate-Change Conspiracy Theoryβ€”the idea that human-caused global warming is a false construct invented by the U.N. to justify government control of economies and people’s daily livesβ€”is alive and well in the United States. The flames of the theory were freshly fanned last month after the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released a landmark report concluding with 95 percent scientific certainty that burning fossil fuels are warming the planet, with dangerous consequences.

The report “proves that the U.N. is more interested in advancing a political agenda than scientific integrity,” said Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., author of the book The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future. Inhofe is far from alone. Around the country, Republican lawmakers, bloggers, and even some local TV weathercasters panned the report as further evidence of the U.N.’s plans to use allegedly false climate data to justify a global takeover.

So what do the U.N.’s top officials make of this?

LP, UN conspiracy theories are rampant among local TPs. They are doing everything they can to scare small communities into thinking that the UN is going to control their lives and take away their freedom. A lot of the insane won primary elections and we are working hard to cut them off this November. Our candidates are finding that once the paranoia takes root, it’s very difficult for low information voters to let go of it. This is how the TP infiltrates the political system at the lowest level and then worms it’s way up the ladder. Stopping them before they grow is vitally important.

      • October 21, 2013 at 11:04 pm

“… A lot of the insane won primary elections…” You know, I think it’s really good of the Republicans to find jobs for the mentally ill. A lot of people won’t, you know!
(And you know I’m not making fun of truly mentally ill people, right? That phrase just struck me as funny.)

Linda, don’t you know yet that all GOP-ers are delusional? Of course, some of these moaners are supposedly not GOPers, so I take back my question. πŸ˜€

    • October 21, 2013 at 9:44 pm

Of course, global, the media is not deluded; it’s purposeful in distracting attention from GOP failures and fomenting a loss of confidence in the president and his party. They won’t succeed, but they’ll keep throwing all the brickbats they can find.

Thank you so much for posting this. So much great information.

I have awesome statistical data from the beautiful state of Washington:

35,000 have enrolled in just three weeks.

I have more good news: 56,000 additional residents have completed applications, and the only thing missing is their first premium payment, which isn’t due until December 23rd.

And still more happy news: 14,000 additional applicants have completed their Medicaid applications, except for the final step (which is awesome for the hospitals, who no longer have to rely on as many charitable donations and they’ll have less bad debt on their books).

That is over 100,000. I am doing the Happy Dance!

fyi: Kentucky has enrolled 16,000 and 45,000 have started applications.

I hear Oregon is doing well, too, despite not having a working website.

And we all know California is doing grrrreat!

UT, you are truly doing a wonderful job with all your posts! Thank you so much for focusing your post on real people who are benefiting from Obama Care. As long as Obama Care is helping improve the health and well being of real people, that’s what’s important. I am sure that temporary glitches about signing up for the exchanges will soon be solved.
