NBC/MSNBC had been running that B.S. segment for a day and 1/2. They better spend as much if not more time running on-air corrections. The WH called them out, and this is not the first news org to report the same crap. Jake Tapper and CNN did the same thing on the first week, no on-air corrections just an updated blog post that Tapper RT’ed.

These news org’s thought they could get away with #newstaining b/c for the last 2wks most of the WH Press/Comm staff was furloughed. Check ur-self!

FACT: Teabag party ilk are a rapidly receding and dying demographic across our country. NONE of their destructive and embarrassing antics can change a paradigm shift. We have a HIGHLY DIVERSE AND COMPLEX society. Less complex and less diverse WILL NEVER HAPPEN. The exponential change is immutable. Globalization and quantum leaps in technology. I know it’s very tough for these simple, greedy, craven douche-bag dinosaurs. (Ok, that was a stretch. Dinosaurs didn’t have douche-bags.)

Although I despise what Bradley Manning did, the State Dept. cables he leaked did reveal one thing for the public. It showed the world how hypocritical our Arab *allies* are. In private they (S.Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain) wanted us to bomb Iran. In public, nothing, no support!

WTF is wrong with this guy(Ezra Klein?) So few tweets in my timeline right now or would never noticed his……. Louisville Cardinals National title hopes dashed, lose to UCF…..St. Louis Cards going to the World Series…..22yr. old pitcher Mike “Waka Flaka” Wacha is NLCS MVP………..and back to the douchebag Ezra(Annie Lowrey) Klein is a pure hater. Never wanted to punch someone through the internet….. he makes my blood boil.

LP, you are far too brilliant and conscious for a nobody like this to affect you in this way. He wins when he makes your blood boil, and he knows it. Maybe you could take a break from him/it/TheMadness, and regain your inherent balance. I repeat, you are far too brilliant to be sacrificed on the altar of an imbecile who is paid to create discord and chaos. Much Light all around you, and Love to your kind Heart.

Pamela, with those extremely, overly generous, and kind words….. I’m going to call it a night. You’ve brought me back down to earth, and for that I can’t thank you enough. Sweet dreams….. I hope your health is in good standing if not getting better. Take care and thank you again!

Ezra Klein is not covering the full story. According to today’s paper (The Oregonian), Coveroregon.com is being very careful. People can work with an official navigator on their application and have it processed on paper until the website is ironed out. This number was expected to jump dramatically after an October 8th email to agents reminding them they could use paper eligibility applications with clients instead of the website.

This kind of negativity from the media seems aimed at discouraging people when the opposite should be true. They have until December 15th to apply for coverage January 1, 2014 and until March for this first enrollment period. Journalists should be focusing on the benefits, not the challenges of getting enrolled!

These are the types that Frank Schaeffer is spending the rest of his life warning us about, from having been forced to live it from childhood, until he was able to speak out (believe after his parents passed away).

This is why there have been warnings from decades ago about letting religious freaks infiltrate government. They will NOT negotiate because they believe God sent them to do what they do.

JOB, I think that Cruz’s overweening hubris will do him in someday very soon. The Senate is really not built for one junior member to dominate and bully everyone else. Senators regard their privilege and seniority as sacred and are going to be finding ways to marginalize and eventually censure this overblown ego. They actually have some tools in their arsenal to do this, so Cruz had better be very careful. He’s becoming more and more hated by his colleagues everyday. Also because he knows nothing of subtlety, he has revealed his hand too early in the game and his father is not helping. There will always be some who will follow the egomaniac, but he will not translate well to a larger audience and that will become more and more apparent as his ambitions outstrip whatever vestiges of common sense he may have left. The bigger they come, the harder they fall and it would be hard to find a bigger ego that Rafael Eduardo.

Most of the reporters in the so called mainstream media (MSM) are unethical! They are either into hype and sensationalism, or they are into carrying the water for the right wingers in the GOP! If the AP were a legitimate news organization, it should have immediately fired this reporter for peddling blatantly false information.

And I share the feeling, Nathkatun. I tried to post on my phone a little while ago, but the ozone is so slow, I gave up and came to iPad! I always read your words with great care, as I learn a lot from your point of view and your writing style is synthetic with my brain function! I often miss out when people comment or reply to me as I have a low daily quota of data, and refreshing a thread can use up an astonishing (and frustrating) amount, particularly if the thread has a lot of photos or videos, which require large amounts of data. So, to you, and to others, it is not that I am being unkind or rude in not responding (also don’t have that little magic box thingy), I suspect it’s just that I do not know you have engaged me! Forgiveness is a gift and a blessing!! 🙂 Goodnight now, I’ll be back tomorrow.

Good Saturday Morning TOD ~ Happy Danny Day Chips! Now would be a good time to tell you about Prince & the banana bread :

When our dog Prince (gone now for 8 years) was about 8 months old- he was part Golden Retriever & St. Bernard- so kinda big 😉 I made a couple of loaves of banana bread.. set them on the table to cool & ran to the store with my boys. Came back 30 minutes later to zero pans of banana bread and a large puppy with a MASSIVE head. Yeppers he had eaten the bread.. and his head had literally swollen to nearly two times its normal size. Rushed him to the vet, where he got a shot of benedryl.. turns out he was allergic. To this day I’ve never made another loaf of banana bread.

Prince, was an awesome awesome dog- never got sick, never dug a hole, ate a shoe or barked unnecessarily- just a true Prince. Now QT Pi, our Sheepdog of nine years.. has done all that.. but is awesome all in his own ‘special’ way 🙂 🙂 Can’t wait to hear all the stories of Danny’s young life~

me too Dudette. When I was growing up, my stepfather wouldn’t allow pets… thus my kids have all grown up with pets.. and our dogs have luckily all lived long lives- and we’ve enjoyed our lives better because of them. I doubt I’ll ever be without a dog- or a cat.

Prince, by the way lived for 13 years… and gave us the greatest of love.. all three of my sons were able to grow up with him, even though there is a 20 year difference between my first two & my third son. So each of them have wonderful memories of Prince.

          • 92 Dudette
            October 19, 2013 at 9:51 am

Grew up with several dogs. I don’t have one myself, bcz my job is an hour away from home and my crazy schedule would leave the poor doggie alone all the time. That would be too cruel.

But I’m a loving doggie-auntie! I get to go play with my sister’s Maltie-Poo, Oliver, anytime I want. I love taking him with me for walks in the park and he comes to hang with me when his Mom needs a break. He’s definitely a “love dog” like your Prince. When you walk the room, he insists on wrapping his little arms around your neck so he can greet you with a vigorous ear-lickin’; after that he’ll sit on your lap for a while to claim you as his (and be rewarded with some nice back strokin’)! Then it’s off to play with his latest chewtoy! Such a sweetie-pie! 🙂

Oh Oliver sounds adorable 🙂 how lucky that you get to share him too. QT-pi greets me by standing up and putting his paws on my shoulders- he then sniffs my entire face.. just checking its me, I guess 🙂

A court in Milan has banned Silvio Berlusconi, Italy’s former prime minister, from holding public office for two years, following his conviction for tax fraud.

However, the ban must be approved by parliament before taking effect.

Earlier this month, a cross-party panel of the Italian Senate recommended his expulsion from the chamber.

    ///

If he is expelled from the senate, he will lose his parliamentary immunity from prosecution in a string of criminal cases.

I’m going to make it my business to discredit Ezra Klein’s highly selected “sources” who present their one-side views of the viability of the ACA website and exchanges.

By now, many of you probably read the various posts from Bobfr and me, on one of Ezra’s “health policy experts” Bob Laszewski. Now Ezra also cited another critic’s piece as a “must-read.”

This source happens to be none other than Yuval Levin, a right-wing policy analyst who, according to Wikipedia, was a member of GWB’s WH domestic policy staff in 2005 & 2006. The Wikipedia entry also states that “He has been called “probably the most influential conservative intellectual of the Obama era”.”
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuval_Levin

So not surprisingly, the article was largely negative with all the usual concern trolling, doomsday prediction, naysaying, etc. However, unlike Bob Laszewski, the author (Yuval Levin) at least had the decency to let readers know this in the article:

// “First, a couple of words of caution: I do not present this as a broad sampling of people involved in the rollout or a comprehensive overview. The CMS people I spoke with are people I know (from having worked on health policy for some time in and out of government), and who in turn know me, which means they know that (unlike all of them) I am an opponent of Obamacare. This may have led them to tell me some particular things and not others, or it may not—I have no way of knowing. ” //

Two problems here: First, he is an opponent of Obamacare, which means that he is already entering this project with a certain degree of of prejudice. Second, the individuals he speaks to are NOT a representative sample of CMS workers – they know each other personally, and that could strongly influence the responses they give him, as he is honest enough to acknowledge.

This is actually LESS scientific than David Corn’s informal Twitter survey – in which he invites anyone to tell him of their experiences with the Obamacare exchanges thus far. Yet Ezra-Klein touts this right-wing opinion piece as a “must-read!!”

Thank you, Hopefruit! We have to be dogged in our defense of Obamacare. As you have said, Klein doesn’t make it clear that a website is NOT the A.C.A.!

Okay… one more dog story in honor of “Danny Day” ~ When Prince was about 5- we moved into an apartment in Colorado Springs- he was famous in this apt complex as being the first (and at that time – the only) dog allowed. One day as we were leaving for work & school, we apparently didn’t close the door tight enough and the open window blew the door open- our door opened up to a community hallway. Turns out our front door was open all day- when folks tried to close it, Prince would growl at them- thus the door stayed open all day, with Prince lying across the threshold (9 hours) because he was keeping our 3 cats inside the apartment… and the humans at bay 😉
