    Buono not holding back……..

Unfortunately she is still 26 points behind the fat one. He is teflon personified.

      • October 18, 2013 at 3:42 pm

Hard to understand, Diane. She would be SO much better for NJ and everyone would feel the difference. I truly don’t understand why Democrats don’t throw Christie out. He does nothing for them and actually holds them in contempt.

I hate to say it, but I see Christie as a threat for 2016. His popularity in a blue state is a red sign for me.

He’s the kind of guy who can make Americans believe in fairy tales. He doesn’t come out as a phony like Romney. LOTS of ordinary americans who don’t follow politics will identify with this guy. He is perfect in the role of the ordinary guy, macho, who is going to “put all people in a room” to solve problems. And for a lot of Americans who are afraid of a changing and more complex world where America won’t be the sole superpower, Christie will be a refuge, a false security. Add to that , of course, the fact that he is a white man.

Gosh, the media and the GOP will try to paint him as a second Reagan; not a new “daddy” but kind of a big “brother” who will protect America from bad things. The Tea Party base won’t vote for him in the primaries ? Not so fast… Christie is astute enough to appeal to their fears of change, and with his populist language he will make them fall in love with him. He will push all the right buttons. Mark my words.

As for the general electorate… A good majority of Americans are not informed and don’t know much about the difference between democrats and republicans. They vote on superficial impressions. They vote for the person they identify with, the person they feel “comfortable” with.

I’m sorry to talk like a concern troll, but folks I’m more concerned than in 2012. Hillary and Bill Clinton may be a force to reckon with, but independents could be tempted to flock to Christie because he doesn’t have as much baggage.

There’s talk that the ex Governor of Montana (what’s his name?) is tempted by a presidential run. He has the same populist appeal as Christie and could help a lot as a VP candidate if Hillary gets the nomination.

You don’t sound like a concern troll. Christie “The Rubber Band” man will try to sell himself as a moderate, and a tough guy/ man’s man. He must be defined as a Koch Brothers stooge, which is what he is, early and often. Whoever the Dems get to run against him, should play that audio of him on stage introducing the Kochs to a RW audience, in a friggin loop. On the tape you hear one of the brothers quip that Christie is “their kind of guy.” I believe them. I don’t know about other folks, but it’s enough to send me running in terror to the polls.

I like this ad. However, I confess that my major ‘problem’ with Buono is that whenever I ‘see’ her, or any of her material she is always focused on Christie. I told “her” that once or twice on twitter way back when. I have yet to run across a comment, ad, or anything from her that is not trying to refute some aspect of Christie. Frankly, I felt she needs to be more proactive, positive, about what **she** stands for. i’m left thinking, if Christie wasn’t running, what would be Buono’s positions? Fortunately, I do not live in NJ so my take hardly matters one whit.

Then they’ll try to take credit and pat themselves on the back, using their ‘activism’ (WHINING) as the reason they made PBO make another choice.

    Student in Germany

A Saudi prince went to Germany to study.

A month later, he sent a letter to his dad saying, “Berlin
is wonderful, the people are nice, and I really like it
here, but I’m a bit ashamed to arrive to school with my gold
Mercedes when all my teachers travel by train.”

Sometime later he received a letter from his dad with a ten
million dollar check saying, “Stop embarrassing us. Go and
    get yourself a train too!”

Politico is a piece of bat poop.

Boehner, GOP chair, Mccain, etc said last year and early this year that IR was a must this year.

Senate passed it. Now the Boehner is being rolled again.

NJ SCourt denied the fluffy Christie. On Monday, the same sex marriage begins in NJ.

Love this nomination. As someone said, as we lear more about him, he was born for this job.

Bob, I went to healthcare.gov and did the Chat Room with an agent. I wax explicitly clear with my question ($63 pre-existing condition per person for the EMPLOYER). She never did understand my question. I explained it clearly 3 or 4 times. Even though I kept putting employee and employer in all caps, she kept referring to the Marketplace and kept saying there’s no pre-existing condition aspect in the Marketplace. So, I finally gave up and thanked her for her time. I tend to believe the article I shared. Just can’t find any other info about it.

I know your question is for Bob but, the live chat is most likely for basic questions about the site itself or handling generic questions. You would get a better response if you contacted your local help center. https://localhelp.healthcare.gov/ The local help provides you with personal help in finding and managing your health care coverage.

Not being in the US – I could be way off track – but I heard this was for a limited period of time – it was needed to cover the expected initial surge in claims because people could no longer be excluded for pre-existing conditions. It may have been something the GOP have been trying to remove – as they want to remove anything that funds the ACA thus making it cost effective.

Same-sex marriages will begin within days in New Jersey after the state’s highest court ruled unanimously Friday to uphold a lower-court order that gay weddings must start Monday and to deny a delay that was sought by Gov. Chris Christie’s administration.

“The state has advanced a number of arguments, but none of them overcome this reality: Same-sex couples who cannot marry are not treated equally under the law today,” the court ruled. “The harm to them is real, not abstract or speculative.”

The new head of Homeland Security is the nephew of a Tuskegee Airman. Well alright. Having had the pleasure of knowing a Tuskegee Airman, I know Mr. Johnson comes from good, strong, courageous stock. These men were special…real heroes. I wish Jeh Johnson all the best

    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/virginia-judge-rejects-request-to-reinstate-purged-voter-rolls
A judge in Virginia on Friday rejected a request by state Democrats to reinstate about 40,000 voters from state voter rolls.

The judge’s ruling is the latest in an ongoing legal battle between state Democrats, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell (R) and Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli (R) over the rolls because the voters registered in other states. Critics of the purge argue that it’s an attempt to help Cuccinelli win the gubernatorial election; he’s currently trailing behind Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe in the polls. But U.S. District Judge Claude M. Hilton on Friday said that Democrats had not provided sufficient evidence to prove that the purge was politically motivated.

    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/walker-criticizes-romney

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) reveals in a new book to be released next month that he urged Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney to show more passion and connect with regular voters during the 2012 campaign, citing his experience overseeing the Winter Olympics a decade ago.

From an Associated Press write up:

Walker recounts an email he sent to Romney voicing his frustrations during the presidential campaign. He said he urged Romney to show more passion, get out from behind the podium and connect directly with voters “like you did to the Olympic athletes” when Romney oversaw the 2002 Winter Olympics. Walker said he got no response.

    FUNNY

Walker showed Zero compassion to Teachers, workers and now poor uninsured Wisconsinites.
