When the media give space to Sarah Palin – they are in the gutter. Her ignorant rhetoric has caused disaster after disaster for the US in many different ways. She attracts (through winks and lies) the bottom line of RWNJs in the country.

Good morning to all, As noted previously , the morning news on NBC 10 from Philly showed no confederate flag in the pictured from the march and no denunciation from the vets about the tea party hijacking the march.

    What’s wrong with this picture?

The juxtaposition of waving the confederate flag in front of the White House by tea party hypocrites claiming to care about veterans and the list of President Obama’s real advocacy for veterans is staggering. It takes your breath away.

Overall, Obama Has Done More For Veterans Than Any President In the Past 30 Years.

So let me see if I’ve got this right, Congress is banking on not raising the debt ceiling in hopes of President Obama using the 14th amendment to save this country and somehow Congress can then go ahead and impeach this country’s first black President?

That is a theory that has been floating around and I would not put it past the GOP house (I’m through underestimating Boner’s weakness and stupidity). It would be very damaging to the GOP politically and would be as effective as the House’s 40 plus votes to abolish the ACA (i.e., 2/3 of the Senate would have to ratify the House’s articles of impeachment). It would be an odd argument “PBO should be impeached because he prevented the GOP from destroying the world economy”, but again, the extreme racial animus driving the racial freakout we are witnessing seems to be immune from logic and reason. GOP is not interesting in “governing” all they want to do is engage in political stunts and protests that will only lead to pyrrhic victories. All this to feed the racist hate that is the life blood of the GOP “base”. Rich folks have long profited from racist hate, duping poor whites into voting against their economic interests for “cultural” reasons. We are witnessing a civil war, not of the United States, but within the GOP. Someone commented that he/she was worried about PBO being erased from history books, I, for one do not share that concern. They will try, but PBO’s impact on this nation will be so huge, that erasing him will be a fool’s errand. We are living in historic times and are too close to events to realize their true historic import. Millions of children are growing up only knowing a black man, PBO, as President of the United States. They take for granted something that I and millions of other Americans (black and white) never thought we would live to see. To millions of young people alive during the attacks of 9/11/01, the nations biggest enemy was OBL and President Obama vanquished him. They will love PBO just as conservatives love Reagan for his role in the collapse of the Soviet Union (I don’t agree with their view of Reagan’s role, but you get my point). Soon, the benefits of the ACA will be taken for granted like Medicare and Social Security. There will soon be a generation of Americans who could not imagine a world without ObamaCare. These are the reasons the GOP/MSM/Racists are freaking out. These should be the reasons we swell with pride and face the future with optimism and HOPE.

Btw the government is shutdown, people are hurting, we should be defending the government.
Instead, it’s the T Baggers with the energy.

    • October 14, 2013 at 8:32 am

That energy is fanaticism/our energy is on Organizing for 2014…

I was so angry when I saw the pics of the protest in front of the WH….but I have to turn that energy into organizing energy
more and more folks are speaking out against the Shutdown and are calling a spade a spade…however you would never know because of the press blackout on this…

I guess you missed the TP’s trucker protest that was a huge fail. This sparely populated protest in front of the White House is more a show of desperation, than it is an indication of energy or momentum (and I could care less what some “reporter”/propagandist said, I bet he also wrote about Mitt’s momentum in 2012). The PBO/the Dems are winning the PR war by standing strong. What we need is for people to vote for democrats in 2014 (and stop watching cable “news”).

Good morning. Posted at end of last thread that I (purposely) watched the CBS morning news. Lots of short clips of the TBagger’s rally with lots of video of the American flag…..not a single, even quickly passing, shot of the confederate flag. Sigh………..

      • 39 Ladyhawke
        October 14, 2013 at 8:40 am

That’s just lying by omission. It’s a disgusting media tactic but true to form. They conveniently leave out the confederate flag because it reflects so badly on the GOP Tea Party.

    Good Morning TOD,

After the events of yesterday in front of the Whitehouse I am left both speechless and sad. Those events are on a different level than merely complaining about your taxes being too high. For me, yesterday was when the bottom fell out and collectively we all took a step backwards. I could only think of the Obama daughters looking out of their bedroom windows and looking at the confederate flag being displayed as something to rally around. When the confederate flag can show up at the Whitehouse and members of congress can make speeches about liberty while standing under that flag without an ounce of shame or regret, collectively, we all have lost a sense of community. Something was lost yesterday, but I just can’t seem to put my finger on it.

    • October 14, 2013 at 8:43 am

Don, would you be okay with me using that comment in R&S? For me, it says it all.

      October 14, 2013 at 8:47 am

It used to be said that innocence was lost – but that went when President Obama was elected – the right flushed it away – never have I seen such a desire to bring down a political leader that those involved will crash the world economy – worse than what happened in 1929. The crash of 29 took 10 years and a war to bring about recovery.

    • October 14, 2013 at 9:14 am

Great comment, Don. It’s a feeling that they are trying to humiliate PBO and the First Family as well as the rest of us. Render us powerless by their assertion of indecent domination. It violates the human spirit on a very deep level.

An Atlanta Braves fan wrote this letter to his Representative, Jack Kingston.

It’s good sarcasm. Here’s a quote from that letter:

“LA’s stubborn refusal to even talk to us about reversing the results of this series is un-sportsmanlike and un-American. But there is an answer: If the Dodgers won’t listen to the cries of average Americans like you and me, then Congress should outlaw Major League Baseball until the Dodgers cave.”

    saw a few clips of the bigots protests at the WH which Mediate put up – just one word => disgusting;

an part of the angry mob filmed insulting the only black guy in the vicinity & following him even as he turned and walked away – what can I say (just reminded one of the documentation of lynch-mobs)
