Hello TOD. I love you all

Call me shallow, but I cannot stomach looking at Cruz. And he’s no GQ candidate, either. Why he continues to wear his one and only go-to-meeting suit that never covers his stomach is another revolting part of him.

Pols like Cruz and his GOP playmates often have me asking myself if they have wives, other family members and (any) friends who truly love them. I mean if anyone loved them wouldn’t they, somewhere along the line, whisper in their ears when they persist in being ridiculous? I don’t get it. I’d be embarrassed if my spouse, brother, friend was making a fool or a tool of himself on a daily basis for all the world to see.

I agree. Trouble is some of their friends and family members are just like them. Did you see Cruz’s father screaming out some “message” on some stage recently?

The women in their lives are presumably too scared to open their mouths – I do wonder how they treat their wives, sisters, mothers.

And daughters. It’s the conservative, patriarchal fanaticism, I guess, which takes many forms and doesn’t allow a silly thing like a woman (et al.) to tell them what to do. Frightening, isn’t it?

It’s horrible for all women – the new RW PM of Australia had his 3 adult daughters dressed in virginal white on election night – that they went along with something that stupid is indeed frightening.

Eek. Adult daughters forced to dress in virginal white? Good golly. Reminds me of Scott Brown’s campaign rally where he told the TV cameras that his daughter was “available” or something like that. Back to the 1950s – or forward to the 2050s – wherever these awful people are taking this stuff.

No I didn’t, thank God! I will assume it’s a case of the apple and the tree.

Run for your life, VC. Ya can’t get away with nuthin’ around here – nuthin! Let’s keep telling ourselves that “late is great”!

G’day, Chips, all bright and Chipper!

                  Dedicated to J and VC:

Hey, at least we weren’t banned for being late, VC!

(Don’t do it, Chips! Better to sneak in a ban when we least expect it, dontcha know. It’s how I get my “kicks.”)

The good part is that this is on this older thread and only the really, really latecomers will see the embarrassment! They’ll be sure NOT to make any comments about ETAs and such. 🙂

JOB, Cruz doesn’t look in the mirror and see what we see. He sees a messiah, a great man–greater than Barack Obama–who will be seen as a savior. He also sees a handsome–even irresistible guy. He’s a zero ability to see himself as he is or to question anything about himself. How anyone can live with such an insufferable human being is beyond me. He is so full of self importance, I’m surprised he doesn’t blow up with it.

I think that’s called “having no observant ego” – about how others see him. YUCK. Can’t wait for him and his ilk to be gone.

    • October 13, 2013 at 8:49 am

🙂 Jackie, it is so funny to me to see this. Just last night my daughter and I were discussing the fact that no one bothers to say that Cruz looks as ugly as he behaves. Just weird looking!

Heading into shutdown over here, chez mp, but it good to know it won’t make a whiff of difference anywhere in the world! These are beyond doubt interesting times ~ Be Not Afraid ~ Truth, Light and Peace will win in the end. It’s what we are here to do, now, today, in this lifetime! Goodnight and Thank you, everyone. God Bless President Obama!

PS: I found a new publication today: Kennedy – His Life and Legacy. I suppose there are millions $$$ to be made on the upcoming 50th anniversary of Dallas, and some may be more sound than others. I did pick up a copy of one published by i-5 media, it seemed a bit less glossy and fanatical than some others on the same shelf.

    Here’s the deal.

    Open the government

    Eliminate the debt ceiling

    Pass the jobs bill.

    Fund Gitmo closing

And get the HECK out of lady parts.

    Cancel keystone

THEN we’ll talk about the budget. Maybe.

    A Word on ‘Apocalypse Now’

From the previous thread, in response to #lovelyplains invocation of that movie’s central message:
    http://theobamadiary.com/2013/10/12/chat-away-231/#comment-855118

    I posted the following:

Upon viewing ‘Apocalypse Now’ when it first appeared (yes, I am that old), my reactions were numerous, but one of them that has remained persistent ever since is that I do not consider any, absolutely any, form of violence to be ‘entertainment.’

That movie crystallized such a diverse range of personal experiences, not least of which were my wretched memories of dead, dear friends who gave their life in the abomination, in the LIE that was America’s war on the Vietnamese.

Just how ‘crystallized’ ? I had zero doubt (and told many folk, including my wife), that from the moment of the tragedy of 9/11 that GWD & gang would, once again, coerce America into yet another conflagration that not only was unjustified, but also was a premeditated pursuit of fascist, cash flow outcomes for the #MIC that President Eisenhower eloquently warned Americans. Why? Because that is ALL that America’s War in Vietnam was.

History has proven that assessment of #GWB’s actions 100 % accurate.

What we have been witnessing since 20 Jan 2009 is way more dangerous – and that, in and of itself, is horrifying.

When President Obama won re-election, some of us knew that what we were going to experience, once and for all, was actually not the ’3rd Reconstruction’ but the final, mega-battle to end the Civil War.

Any doubt that that assessment of the situation was fantasy, conspiracy theory, tin foil territory ….. was comprehensively resolved on 1 Oct 2013.

The Civil War did not end 20 August 1866.

It is for US to end it.

We can only do so by supporting President Obama and Dems in the Senate, House & State Houses throughout the Union.

Make no mistake, YOU are living at that moment in history when the promise of America either prevails or becomes a Ph.D. dissertation by some pedantic kid comparing America to Greece, Rome, whatever …..

No escaping each Citizen’s personal responsibility – Preserve the American Promise or live the horror of FAIL.

#TrustBarack … and be eternally grateful you have that opportunity

I’ve been going to HP sporadically to keep up with the latest headlines during all this T-party mess. Well now, they’re reporting that some Dem Senate aide (anonymously of course) told them that PBO must be ready to “cave” bcuz the Dems are winning. I wonder if HP just made this up (wouldn’t put it past them) to stir up the “POTUS always caves” emo idiots. If a Democratic aide really did say such a thing about the president (especially now) to HP he should be kicked the hell out of the party. What a coward and a disgrace.

Hi CaliCat – I read that – I very much doubt that their Dem Senate aide – is a dem senate aide – much more likely a republican. The latter like to make believe that they are heading for the big “win” and they do that by attacking PBO.

Every democrat in the Senate is voting the same way – every vote – none of their aides would think such a thing, let alone say it.

Thanks for your reply 99ts! I think there’s something fishy about it too. Leave it to HP to run with scurrilous rumors. Pathetic.

I realize the people who I would like to see this and get a response probably won’t (still snoozing), but will share anyway and ask “Is this possible”?

    http://www.newshour24.com/world/74w25c1tu/This-Loophole-End-Government-Shutdown.htm. It’s something that Carter’s AG did.

I read that tngirl, I really believe President Obama & his team have looked under every law & stone to make sure what he can do or what he can’t. Keep faith with our President. He knows what he is doing.
