He is not funny……he sure is hell not Lenny Bruce…..so glad he did NOT win an Emmy this year.

Mr. Bobfr, a personal thank you to you, the Master of Tweeter.

I share with you my devotional that I read just this morning that I feel applies to this picture.
Romans 8:6 To be spiritually minded is life and peace.

” Righteousness in your heart produces beauty in your character.”

That’s my favorite part of the photo (I think) — everyone looks so great — love the way that Pete Souza instinctively knows exactly when to snap. He’s such an asset to this admininstration (thanks for posting that tweet that @PeteSouza responded to when the Obamacare exchanges opened — great to see the video, and such a thrill to see him respond to you!).

Malia and Malala are almost the same age. I like to think that they got to sneak off by themselves for some good international girl talk.

Can you imagine them joining forces after they’ve graduated from college?

A formidable duo to say the least.

      Great, great photo.

Hello all – taken me an hour to catch up on the news – from the TOD unbiased news emporium. I am convinced every day that any suggestion that there is even pne “liberal” news source is wrong. I briefly tuned onto Chuckie’s showpiece (late yesterday in my world) – and he was showing Ted Cruz speaking at the right wing hate fest. I looked at TPM this am (supposedly left supporting) and 90% of their topics related to GOP events/speakers/politicians. It seems NO news source will give time or space to anyone from the democratic side of congress.

That people realize the GOP are to blame for this disaster is thanks to places like TOD and little to do with anything away from the intertubes

Malala is an impressive young lady. And so is Malia. She is really all “growed up” now, isn’t she? I bet the Obamas can’t believe how fast time flies, how thrilled they were when she was born. See how I transitioned into baby mode, which is where my family still is after our new baby girl arrived last Sunday to youngest daughter. My oldest daughter just reminded me of this book I gave when my first grandbaby was born 11 years ago. She got so choked up reading it for the first time that someone else had to finish it. It is so touching, first published in 1929, now out of print—-it shouldn’t be—-but someone has produced a video with its delicious text. Everyone who has ever had a newborn baby in their midst can relate. P.S. Our new baby went out for pizza tonight—-she was an angel (‘cept for the last 10 minutes)

Well, I took my other dog to the dog park. Sane one I brought my black lab to every morning. It wasn’t that bad , but the other dogs attacked her , bit her.
Especially an old Poodle. She cried and ran under the bench.
They did the same thing to my best friend, but they always tried something else as well. Until one day she started fighting back. It went on for awhile, and then they left her alone.
I assume that they must not like labs, you know, friendly Dogs.
So, I just know I am trying, I just miss my Old dog every day, every minute.
Thanks for letting me get this out of me, if I don’t I feel I will explode!
    🙂

Good to hear your story Jovie. How you are doing and how is your new dog, Nina doing? Every day, it slowly gets better.

Talking things out works for me. Thank you for sharing.

We’re here for you, Jovie. I know the searing pain of losing a beloved animal and the inestimable value of moving forward with a new friend and having the memories of how that new friendship helped sooth the loss.

    • October 11, 2013 at 8:43 pm

Jovie, you’re such a warrior, we can see how hard you’re trying to fight this pain, I truly hope you’ll bond with your new dog, it won’t ever be the same, I know, but it might bring you some comfort. Keep fighting, you’re the best.

    • October 11, 2013 at 9:15 pm

LOS ANGELES — There are radio and television commercials galore, along with Twitter and Facebook posts and scores of highway billboards. There are armies of outreach workers who speak Spanish, Tagalog, Cambodian, Mandarin and Cantonese, all flocking to county fairs, farmers markets, street festivals and back-to-school nights across the state. There are even dinner parties in Latino neighborhoods designed to reach one family at a time.

With enthusiastic backing from state officials and an estimated seven million uninsured, California is a crucial testing ground for the success of President Obama’s health care law. It is building the country’s largest state-run health insurance exchange and has already expanded Medicaid coverage for the poor. Officials hope that the efforts here will eventually attract more than two million people who are currently uninsured. And as the exchange, known as Covered California, has begun the painstaking effort to enroll potential customers in the subsidized insurance plans or expanded Medicaid, the public outreach effort here can seem akin to a huge political campaign.

    Dept. of self promotion…….

This tale of poker cheats has all the signs of a Hollywood movie: high-tech contact lenses, marked playing cards, corrupt casino employees, and the French Riviera. Back in 2011, an Italian man codenamed “Parmesan” racked up 70,000 euros in one day of poker winnings followed up by 21,000 more in another visit, according to The Telegraph. He and his accomplices — which included two casino employees — found a way to mark the cards with invisible ink. Parmesan, a 56-year-old man whose real name is Stefano Ampollini, then used infrared contact lenses purchased online for 2,000 euros from a Chinese company to read his competitors’ hands.

I was curious about the news that MSNBC has hired Ronan Farrow, the son of Mia Farrow, who was in the news this week. He is supposed to be the son of Woody Allen, but Mia answered “possibly” to an interviewer’s question about the long standing rumor that he is really the son of Frank Sinatra. He is the spitting image of a young Frank Sinatra, so I would say “very possibly”. But my reaction was “what???” when I read he was hired by msnbc, not to host his own show but as a floating guest on all the shows. So, after checking, I learned he is a real smartypants—–enrolled in Bard College at age 11, graduated at 15, Yale Law School grad, Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University. And then—-I see he has written for the Guardian and was critical of the U.S. on the NSA leaks—-and so went hmmmmmm. He has also received numerous awards and accolades—-named to 30 under 30 most influential etc., many good works and deeds with refugees etc. Just a curious, out of the blue hire—–will have to see what we get. It will be telling.

There is some asshat on Piers Morgan who is furloughted NASA employee who is a Ted Cruz supporter and is complaining about Obamacare as being the faught. Ben Carson saying Obamacare is the worst thing in this country since slavery. Ben Carson got to where he is today because he stood on the shoulders of many who sacrificed, marched and died to get the education and financial advantages for many AA’s in this country. Saving peoples lives is slavery. The people who are picked to defend the ACA are the worst people they can not articulate the benefits of having everyone buying insurance, or young people staying on their parents plans, expanding MC so that those that can’t buy in the marketplace won’t have to go to emergency. The people who want to deny affordable healthcare to others especially a so-called medical doctor and someone who gets their insurance from their jobs should be ashamed for being so selfish and should not call themselves a Christian.
